How do the vapor pro 2's perform on outdoor hardcourts that are not bone dry? The soles appear very slick to the point that they do look like they would not provide any traction on a court with slight moisture. I use the previous vapor pro's and the all court sole provide good traction even when the court was slightly wet. I don't get this obsession with sliding on hardcourts for every point, fine for the pros, they generally play in optimal conditions, but in the real world where we are playing in less perfect conditions, on warn in tennis courts, it is a recipie for disaster.

for me as a clay player this is the best shoe for me even tho it is supposed to be a hardcourt shoe... I do a lot of sliding on the inner side of my foot so the rubber material all over the front foot makes it super durable and lasts very long... I LOVE this shoe and compared with the super comfortable feeling and the stability its perfect for everyone... by far the best shoe I've ever had and I'm very sad I cannot find them anymore...
The update is the Vapor Pro 2, and from what we have heard, it's a bit more comfortable than the Vapor Pro! Might be worth trying, has the same fit as the Vapor Pro! Michelle, TW
Hi tenniswarehouse! Can you do a review of the nike air trainer1 which agassi, mcenroe and wilander previously used. Can it still hold its own against modern tennis shoes?
Hello, what's a good durable but well performing tennis shoe I could get? I've been watching your guyss videos and just can't narrow it down. I play high school tennis and practice 4 or 5 times a week so I need good performance but want them to also last at least 7 or 8 months. Any advice?
If you are playing on a team, you should probably narrow it down to something that is durable, and also has a durability guarantee. In the case the shoes don't quite last 7 or 8 months and the rubber outsole wears a hole in it, you could return them for a warranty replacement. Here is a list of our men's shoes that come backed by an outsole durability guarantee: www.tennis-warehouse.com/Durability_Guaranteed_Mens_Tennis_Shoes/catpage-MSDURGUAR.html. We are big fans of the Asics Gel Resolution shoes, and the KSwiss Ultrashot. That said, if you want a good value option, the Wilson Rush Pro Pro 3.0 Black/Green is a great option for the price. Troy, TW
@Tennis Warehouse gotcha, I went ahead got the zoom NXTS, for 90 bucks it was too good to pass and after watching other reviews of yours, it seemed pretty durable and high performance. Thank you for your response!
We have these: www.tennis-warehouse.com/descpage-PMP1WHW.html. But if you want extra wide you would have to check out our New Balance shoes, and we don't have any of those in a high top that are extra wide. Troy, TW
We would suggest getting after market insoles (we like Superfeet) and then would want to help you find a shoe that matches best with what you are looking for depending on how wide or narrow your feet are and if you are looking for something speedy or more stable and cushioned! Let us know if we can help further! Michelle, TW
Typically Nike tennis shoes aren't known for having a wide fit. There is a Vapor Pro 2 Wide for women, however initial feedback says that it does not feel like a wide shoe. We playtested the Vapor 11 for men, and one of our testers who has a wider foot type really enjoyed playtesting that shoe, so that might be a possibility. If you are interested in other brands, we can give you some more options for wider feet. Troy, TW
I also should have added, our website has in depth fit descriptions! However, Nike shoes aren't the most generous in width and each shoe has a slightly different fit depending on the upper it is paired with so be sure to check our fit descriptions for specific model info! Michelle, TW
So I started tennis with Vapor X and then moved to the Cage when Vapor X was discontinued but found the Cage gave me feet issues so I decided to go for the Zoom NXT and it felt the best BUT I was getting pain in my hamstring and now gone back to the Vapor X (though using a 2020 colourway since it is no longer sold and I was fortunate to find a rare pair..) Given the Vapor Pro is gone and being replaced with Vapor 11 / Pro 2 - which one of the two is most similar to the Vapor X ? Thanks :)
We recommend trying the Vapor Pro 2, as it has more of that lightweight feel, and is a bit more flexible out of the box compared to the Vapor 11. The Vapor 11 is a bit heftier feeling, and has a bit more stability built-in. The Vapor 11 has a fairly similar feel to the React Vapor NXT underfoot, but with a more comfortable and flexible feel on top of the foot. Troy, TW
I`m a professional tennis coach that uses only Nike shoes and I have multiple pairs for each outfit and court type and I can advise people to not buy the Cage Rafa model...although is very durable where it`s suppose to be durable it is the other way around on the normal parts, like for example the main material of the shoe in parts where is overlaid by the rubber of the sole gets easily destroyed just by wearing and cleaning. Not very durable, the rubber on the sides and in front helps durability when sliding. The best Nike tennis shoe I ever worn was the previous version of Nike Air Zoom Vapor Pro and you can see that pro players are also wearing that model even after Nike released the new version.
Tennis warehouse please ask Nike to bring back the gp turbo in men's and while they are at it please put a harder compound rubber on it, everything about that shoe was still perfect except the outsole which lasted a third of the time of the cheaper adidas sole court bounce but yeah the bounce and speed it gave you was amazing. With a tougher compound outsole it would be a good buy, I'd pay extra for a gp turbo with a more durable sole, come on Nike start matching adidas for durability of rubber and you'd be a top shoe! I got 2 months out of it before I was sliding on court, adidas lasted 7 months.
Both the Vapor 11 and Vapor 2 seem to be good options for those who like to slide on the hard courts. I would also consider the Vapor Cage 4 as it works well for sliding and has more durability than the other nike shoes. Troy, TW
We currently have some available at Tennis Warehouse Europe, www.tenniswarehouse-europe.com/catpage-NIKMSHVC4-EN.html. We no longer have this particular blue color available. Troy, TW
Why not mention that Rafa never actually wears the shoe he supposedly endorses? More importantly, what shoe does he keep wearing and where can we get it?
The rafa shoes is just a namesake but it's not the actual shoes rafa is using. Hopefully nike will bring back rafa's 2010-11 models and roger's vapor model
I wish that people would stop lying about Nike's new vapor line! Nike has truly ruined such a great shoe that they once before had the new vapor shoes are sooo unstable and unreliable if you go out and buy them be prepared to slip and fall on your ass constantly lol.
They are meant for hard courts, but most definitely will be ok on an indoor court and will do the job on clay! If you are playing a lot on clay, we would recommend investing in a specific shoe for clay courts with a full herringbone outsole! Michelle, TW
Sad to see the mens GP Turbo gone
Agree 100% although wish the outsole had a 6 month guarantee and lasted longer
Turbo ant 2
Great explanation! Thanks so much!
Hi, I have the Nike Air Zoom GP Turbo, and I am not really sure they whether they are meant to be an indoor shoe or Clay shoe?
Nike should really bring the vapor 9.5 back ( whitout making it pay 200 dollars)

Absolutely crazy that they don't sell the GP Turbo in Men's anymore... Such a DUMB decision by Nike Tennis.
Yes it is a great shoe. Im trying to find some and buy 5 pairs

Man really liked last year's Vapor Pro. Time to go buy a few pairs before they all disappear.

Sure...but can you snag us a few pairs?!?
What Nike vapor pro 2 should i buy if im planning to play mostly on a grass courts Hard courts or clay version?
That’s hard and clay. Not grass.

Honestly Adidas shoes last 3 times as long, there outsole tread adiwear outlasts Nike several times over

Are they gonna relaunch air zoom vapor 9.5 this year??
They did
Which shoe is the replacement for the React NXT Vapor?
The Vapor 11!
