He's right. Could be a start of something. And as soon I started watch I was thinking dlc(s), that will give this game a long life. Especially if they do one with cane the brain.
I kinda did the same thing i played as April ENTIRE game on mobile and i saw differences in few boss fights that have some extra attacks: Dirtbag can hit you whit his shovel while he is underground (Also Groundchuck can accidentaly deal damage to Dirtbag). Super Shredder can close himself in a ball and spawn shadow clones and they shoot fireballs and you have to quickly remove them cuz they respawn. Why did i said about this? Because in videos of "All Bosses & Ending" i didnt saw those type of attacks so thats why i said about these two.
Great game but very short. Wish the devs would add future content like map expansions and more characters. Played this with my 5yr old son and we went through it quick. He was gutted when we killed super Shredder and it was over.
I had some what I'd say is genuine criticism playing solo, that the story mode didn't really add much and you can't switch difficulties in story mode on the fly, and that maybe one playthrough was enough to have seen all the spectacle yet there's one trophy that requires a full game worth of playtime per character. But to keep it interesting yet less efficient, I joined multiplayer online games, where you can be thrown into any difficulty, enemies scale up per number of players, the players themselves change up how each screen goes, and there's hi-fives and revives to give. Basically any criticism solo goes away by dropping into online, and you will discover new techniques by playing more and feel good about it" The only indepth criticism I've seen is on combat and lack of invulnerability frames, which I can understand, but that would make it a different game. As it is it maintains at least some of the vulnerability of the arcade games where positioning yourself is key to handling the groups arriving. Smaller criticisms from more positive reviews were the same as mine and the only thing that really needs fixing is some issues with online bugs that sometimes force a game quit or full reboot.
We don't have a shortage of Buzzwords and Epithets in this so called "world of gaming". Even the term Gamer used to describe people who play videogames carries a faint whiff of cringe nowadays. A better choice of words would be "worth every penny", it's a game you don't feel guilty after purchasing, and that's enough to make people feel they're not wasting their money.
Just bought this game today. And let me tell you I've been having a blast! My sister is not particularly skilled at Gaming and still, she managed to get the hang of it quite rapidly, of course i play with her on the Chill Difficulty because i want her to have a fun time and oh boy if this game delivers. So yeah, i may not have my old friends around anymore, but my sister is definitely my favorite player 2 for these kind of games. This game is definitely a no brainer, the only other game that managed to get me this pumped was Dead Cells, and it's been quite a while since then.
Omg! You think the 2012 TMNT turtles is old, the 2003 series is gonna be 20 years old next year! I was in high school when that series was released. I was also born the year when the original TV series started. I was born a TMNT fan and I will die a TMNT fan!
Gotta agree with you on all fronts! This is a great throwback and also evolution of the genre. Still, I feel it's not a 10/10 thought, but probably a 9/10 for me. Not because lenght or any of that, it's because I have been absolutely spoiled by Streets of Rage IV: I feel that game achieves an amazing level of depth with its mechanics where TMNT:SR doesn't. My main issues are the taunt spam for super attacks, or how underused is the combo system in TMNT while in SoR IV helps a lot with replayability. Trying to master all stages with S ranks in all difficulties takes time, but that was great fun for me. Unlocking new stuff with each run helps a lot too. But I don't think it was the developer's intent to make the game that deep. They wanted to keep it simple, so you can invite all your friends to play and only need to learn a few basic buttons and attacks. That way everyone can have a good time. Not saying TMNT:SR doesn't have any depth: (the different character moves alone take time to master) but it's not required at all to finish the game. It embraces multiplayer chaos and that's fucking great. Anyway, sorry for the long rant. Great video! So happy to see Turtles fans and Beat 'em up fans enjoying this game
A strong contender yes, but probably a more "Woke Game" will take that award. I mean, that's what's all about in these modern times, being woke enough to tolerate the collective hysteria of the minorities, proudly represented by the big corporations. I don't respect the GOTY awards anymore they're the Oscars of Gaming, for me, GOTY is the game i enjoyed the most playing in the year and one i can see myself playing 5+ years into the future.
I loved it. Born in the 80s so yeah. I just got it and I'm playing it with my kids. It definitely could use more characters and levels. So I disagree, it needs some DLC and I'd say it would be dumb if they didn't because it did feel a bit short and I would enjoy more characters. I still enjoy the core game though. I'm definitely going go through more play-throughs and level up all the characters. I definitely agree that other old games could take advantage of this similar treatment: X-men and Simpsons. I also played Streets of Rage 4, which was good too.

🙏🏾Casey J for a MK12 or MK13 guest character🤞🏾 He was born to be in this franchise,EVERYTHING about him personifies badassery💯 From his unhinged personality to his motivations for practicing vigilantism. I can see his dialogues during character cut scenes as well as his moveset during battles being absolutely ruthless considering he'd use anything at his disposal to extremely damage his opponents. Making him a truly unpredictable combatant in his own right❕ Could even add April in the mix to assist in the battle against his foes, both physically during matches and verbally during CJ's cut scene dialogues too. If we can't get this than I'd like to at least see Bebop & Rocksteady in Injustice 4,5,or maybe even 6 if it happens. But let's be honest we all know eventually they're bound to happen on way or another😃 #pleasemakeithappenboon🤞🏾 #letsmakeithappennrs🙏🏾
Watch some gameplay and ask yourself, with all honesty: Do i really see myself playing this game? Maybe if they chose a different style, but it's way too late to pander in the Shoulda/Coulda now.
Oh man, if we're talking about reviving the Beat 'em up classics, it would be great to see The Simpsons and X-Men. Perhaps there could even be a new one? Futurama is getting revived on Hulu. There are so many elements of that show and character traits that could make for a follow-up, spiritual successor to The Simpsons arcade (and it could actually be a GOOD Futurama game, for once).
My only fear is that if big IP rights holders get wind that this makes money, they will milk it to the ground with terrible designers that focus on DLC/pay-to-win practices instead of it being a passion project like this was. Hey I could be wrong, but we've seen this happen before.

I kinda did the same thing i played as April ENTIRE game on mobile and i saw differences in few boss fights that have some extra attacks:
Dirtbag can hit you whit his shovel while he is underground (Also Groundchuck can accidentaly deal damage to Dirtbag).
Super Shredder can close himself in a ball and spawn shadow clones and they shoot fireballs and you have to quickly remove them cuz they respawn.
Why did i said about this? Because in videos of "All Bosses & Ending" i didnt saw those type of attacks so thats why i said about these two.
Sorry if you felt like my comment is dum if you already saw it. I just didnt thought well.
Great game but very short. Wish the devs would add future content like map expansions and more characters. Played this with my 5yr old son and we went through it quick. He was gutted when we killed super Shredder and it was over.
April has cake for days...
Basically any criticism solo goes away by dropping into online, and you will discover new techniques by playing more and feel good about it"
The only indepth criticism I've seen is on combat and lack of invulnerability frames, which I can understand, but that would make it a different game.
Masterpiece is an overused word in gaming. But it's also an attention grabbing word, whatever gets the views in. The game is fantastic.
@@Kranon Well said ❤️
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are so influential for gaming they put them in Minecraft.
The amount of work put into this game it has life and soul its fucking incredible
I bet he fainted when they added usagi 💀😂
2012 might be my favorite show out of them its a great mix of the 80s comedy with the edge if the 2007
Gotta agree with you on all fronts!
But
I don't think it was the developer's intent to make the game that deep.
Fantastic game
I wish they could have included the original cartoon theme and not a remake version of it as the original one still sounds better after all this time.
Possibly can be game of the year
A strong contender yes, but probably a more "Woke Game" will take that award.
I play on Steam.
What do think of the tmnt 2003 series it was hands down the best
the best TMNT game i ever played is shredders revenge and hyperstone heist
Masterpiece is a great word for this game.
Worth every penny.
I still enjoy shredders revenge now in fact I have done a game play of it
But is it better than Xbox Game pass Battletoads
A lot
The pure black foot soldiers were the most annoying ones out of the batch, next to the white sword armed ones.
10:50 *shots fired* 😂
I too took personal note of April thickness
I am distraught that this game is so good.
You forgot the 2003 Turtles they are one of if not the best versions of the Turtles

Okay you're actually talkin positive about this game I'm surprised
Game was so good that I even thought I had it on gamepass bought a limited edition version of it for switch
Honestly i've never had any interest in the TMNT IP both while growing up and even now, but i'd absolutely buy this game regardless bc it sounds great
In the world of cynical jerks and thousands of arm chair critics nitpicking great work,, this one may get past all of the hate. Bought it, zero regrets, it was just butt whopping fun.
🙏🏾Casey J for a MK12 or MK13 guest character🤞🏾
He was born to be in this franchise,EVERYTHING about him personifies badassery💯
From his unhinged personality to his motivations for practicing vigilantism. But let's be honest we all know eventually they're bound to happen on way or another😃

What was wrong with the turtles in time remake?
Watch some gameplay and ask yourself, with all honesty:
Do i really see myself playing this game?
Maybe if they chose a different style, but it's way too late to pander in the Shoulda/Coulda now.
EVERYTHING! Rushed remake and janky gameplay.
I played it over a decade ago, not having played the original, so I had no real reference point and I didn't find much wrong with it.
I prey for Usagi if they are adding more dlc characters, but the game is perfect :O
Edit: Ah you mentioned it too. Great minds think alike :P
Come on, ChiGuy. You know you want to throw shade at the Battletoads reboot in this video...
I mean that game had a sick OST. And I think that's it :p
My only fear is that if big IP rights holders get wind that this makes money, they will milk it to the ground with terrible designers that focus on DLC/pay-to-win practices instead of it being a passion project like this was. Hey I could be wrong, but we've seen this happen before.
I'm also hyped about this game
