    Great video. I have a JC-22 with a Boss GT-100. The GT-100 takes a bit of time to get the settings right but it is a great combination

      I ordered a JC 22...it's on backorder now but since I am pretty much only interested in clean sounds and using a few pedals, in an apartment this seemed like the best choice. Love the I/Os it has plus an FX loop.

    Roland amps give you amazing sound with ANY pedal. Boss pedals do stand out slightly though. Amp settings, treble 0, mid 5, bass 6.

    You could also add a little from the built in distortion to go with your overdrive pedal. Could be interesting!

    • @mantray6976
      @mantray6976  Рік тому +4

      That’s quite right. I think the built in distortion is better than its reputation in these new models.

      Using the built in distortion at 2-3 and a good distortion pedal gives you an amazing tone! I like the Digitech DF-7 because there are so many classic distortion pedals built into it.

    Are these pedals tube preamp?
    Sorry I'm in my first steps 😊

    • @mantray6976
      @mantray6976  Рік тому +1

      Thanks for a good question. These Boss pedals are not tube pedals. I’m using a Hehku Roaster preamp tube pedal which has EF86 tubes. I’ve also tried Vox Valvenergy Mystic Edge which works ok. It is advisable to avoid strong overdrive settings in pedals when using this amp. It, however, takes soft tube colouring very well.

      @@mantray6976 Thank you
      And the preamp pedal goes first?
      Following by the other pedals?

    • @mantray6976
      @mantray6976  Рік тому

      @@dimitris70 Again, a good point. I suppose most users would put the tube preamp first, then the other pedals and, finally, the actual amplifier. I don’t suppose putting the preamp after the other pedals would make a huge difference, though. You should usually put the signal reinforcing pedals, such as overdrive, boost and even compression in the beginning and in many ways a tube preamp is such a pedal.
