I’ve been training in Krav Maga for a couple years now, and the techniques you use are very similar to what we do. Everything you talk about and show is spot on!! Keep posting and helping people out brother!! ✊🏼❤❤
This video is a fab way to welcome a new year. All Best and good fortune and health to All. Please share this great content, as your New Year's resolution to help your friends and family.
My name is David also. I've been interested in martial arts since 1966,and I'm 65 years old now. I started karate in 1972 and I received my black in karate in 1978. I started aikido in 1979, and I received my brown belt in aikido in 1990. I briefly taught self defense in the early 1990's. I began studying phillipine kali in 1987. I love kali. I started studying african martial arts in 2001. I currently practice kali and and the african martial arts to this day. I always say that I am a student first. I love your videos. I'm always learning from you and I want to thank you very much for your information. I share your video to all my martial arts friends. In my 51 years of martial arts training, I realize the more I learn in martial arts, the more there is to learn. Thank you. Professor David.
I love how you guys, slow things down, explain, explain, explain...., and use multiple views to really see the mechanics. I cannot figt, grapple nothing. I NEED to defend corretly.
I believe in 3 zones of self defense. The 2 - 3 meter zone, I practice Sil Lum Quan Gung Fu for this zone but many other martial arts systems will suffice. I like the Jeff Speakman Kempo 5.0 for this zone but I don't know it. The 1 - 2 meter zone, I practice Wing Chun Kung Fu for this zone but the other choices seem to narrow significantly. Jujitsu, Silat and Kali are very efficient in this zone as well. The 0 - 1 meter zone, I practice Wing Chun Kung Fu for this zone but Professor David has convinced me that it may not be the most efficient in street situations.
Your information has no comparison coupled with practicality. This has improved my system, I've been a practitioner of Lethwei and Kra Maga for years. Thank you for sharing. I will be contacting you.
David you are the absolute master for self defense! No doubt about it! Amazing informative videos! Can you do a video on the mind set needed to defend yourself, how do you make your mind become a warrior and hit hard to defend yourself if you never had the situation happen before? If you never experienced that type of stress in defending yourself? Thank you very much in advance! 🙌🏻
Try things like imagining someone trying to hurt one of your loved ones or anything that gets you angry . Do this as your training . Understand that is the reason your training to protect yourself and them ..🫡
I love this guy! You are real. I have a black belt in Shorie Ryu Kenpo, and Brown in American Kenpo, way to many unnecessary movements. Were not in the old days anymore, the thugs have evolved, and nobody has the time or the money to train at a dojo for 5 years to master an art. Great Stuff!!
Hi Jason, thank you for supporting our channel. if you are interested in getting more information you can contact us at livefitstaysafe@gmail.com. Professor David
Remarkable uncanny ability to see and dissect every minute detail. These two keep it simple. Which makes for very effective results. These two are truly on "another level". Their content speaks volumes. Nuff said.
Thank you because you and Kinney are great teachers.im watching from new Mexico and the city I live in is rough and dangerous and it's not safe here and I love your instructions and I get the feeling that you and Kinney are the good guys.i havesny of yr videos on my phone😊
Two GREAT points: [1] Huge difference between survival/self-defense and sport/fighting. [2] Experience is not the same as Proper Experience. Just repeating what you did before over and over isn't experience. Because you didn't question it: assess it, see if it works right, if it works when the other guy's stronger faster and wants to kill you, how to correct or improve it. That's real experience. Thoughtful experience, where you learn and improve. Good stuff David and Kenny.
I'm unpacking and breaking down all the "techniques" that I've learned or try to remember over the years, which is too many. My mind would get in 'stuck mode'. I love the way they teach, simple, effective, raw and challenge you to try it to see if it works instead of what many teachers do in that they teach something because its part of the curriculum or looks cool.
My opinion re: the grapplers video insert technique vs shoulder grab. There is very little reason to believe the defender would have enough leverage against the attackers grip on a good day. Not to mention the attackers bicep & triceps muscles at full violent contraction along with the shoulder girdle which is quite secure, will be able to affect any sort of lock, certainly not a dislocation or rib fracture. There is no way the ribs can be fractured or shoulder girdle dislocated, not going to happen. This is part of the problem these days, inexperienced grappling practitioners teaching real world self defense that they have no idea about. I've always taught strikes as mandatory set ups for other Waza. A handful of times was I able to pop on a quick joint lock cold. When I did it was when the perp didn't see me coming. This type of "attack" if dislocation or fracture is called for, it would be against the brittle nasal bones via a left hand trap/simultaneous right hand strike to fracture it. Lightning quick, disabling immediately then make ones escape or deal with potential other attackers. Just my professional opinion. Thank you Sensei for clearing the air in the real world.
I really like Tim and I also subscribe to his channel but like you said “he’s a grappler” teaching things that are more suitable for MMA or fighting than self defense.
It's all about getting out of that MMA delusional mindset. People thinking that m m a will be the answer to all offensive and defensive and defensive situations when it comes to physical contact

I think it's wise to note that not every situation, will require deadly force. That said, I do believe that there is a time and place for joint locks.
Salute Gents🫡
Finally a man that thinks the way I've always thought. His analysis is spot on. Like he says, think.

You have to trap the opponent's hand to your chest to have a chance to pull off that technique, or he will pull his hand back.
Married to self defense. Enjoy all good things .
It's all about getting out of that MMA delusional mindset. People thinking that m m a will be the answer to all offensive and defensive and defensive situations when it comes to physical contact
You are supposed to grab your own wrist when doing an arm triangle. Rotate while setting it up.
I'm learning and hoping I never have to use it.

The DEVIL'S HANDSHAKE 🤝😮
That move was impressive. It looked like something someone who grew up in the getto would do.

Practice makes perfect unless you practice WRONG
