- In this episode, we delve into the exploration of the devil archetype within Carl Jung's Red Book.
In the quest to understand yourself and human consciousness mastering the
archetypes is a key part.

I've found the "Devil" is most strongest and convincing when I'm thriving, when I'm successful.. Then it strikes again tempting me to resort back to the low state. This game shall go on for eternity I suppose but at least we have memory to our advantage
Self-Love is the best protection
the only one
Self awareness is your best protection.
The devil reached out to me as a child thru strangers, it's not fair that my innocence was taken that young. But like my father repeatedly has said "life is not fair". All I can do is adapt and be my best
Gratefulness is the key.
The introduction calms me. No matter how bad things are going, we’re elevating in working to understand more.
i have been in the darkest void and i sat there for a while, it was a great experience because after being void of everything i love everything that is much more!!
Aren’t you chasing joy ?
@@mandoxgobrazy4401 no i get joy now! dont have to chase it! haha
Not me, actually I have found I hate most things, because the cost of them outweighs any perceived pleasure. So anything I once loved or was interested in, I can only see the cost and affect it has in the grander scheme of thing. And what, for my short term benefit? It has pretty much eliminated my ability to feel joy
@@chrism8180what do you mean with cost and effect in the grander scheme? What are these for a hobby like painting for example ?
@@lennardg3656 painting, environmental cost of materials. Think about supply chains to get those materials, and manufacturers, people working those god awful jobs dealing with toxic chemicals. Aside from that the cost of my personal time, and money to buy materials. In totality is it all worth it just because one enjoys stroking a brush? Especially when it comes to realist art. So you have an entire complex process to recreate a portrait of reality. Why not just observe reality? It's an abstraction of what is real, almost a fetish
Jung had so examined and investigated his inner psychology that he could connect with it in an almost perfectly real manner. Either that, or he had aided this with some sort of chemical or stimulant.
He used a meditation technique called active imagination, no stimulant is needed and everyone can do it,
Best regards
He was an absolute coke monster. Fact.
@@sonofbert haha
You mistake Jung for Freud @@sonofbert
Like magic mushrooms? Ive run into the devil many times with the mushrooms in my stomach. Very disturbing experiences
I've actually spoken to my Shadow side many a times in the solitude of a quiet winter's night. To me it's like the big bad bully in school wanting to be your friend, and generally has your back. But ignore this big bad bully, and bubby, he will do worse to you then steal your lunch money! He is a MAJOR asset to have my friends!
Give me step by step ritual to talk to my shadow self
@@user-ks2jf7jz9q there is no specific ritual it is more like deep deep meditation. it is what ever makes you acknowledge the vast aspects of the self.
@user-ks2jf7jz9q meditation and shadow work. Quieting the mind and learning how to hear what your shadow is saying allows you to communicate with it more freely.

I find is method of exploring the lucid dream (correct my perception if I’m wrong) rather surprising. I now think that the introspection method consists of imagining the discussion between our actual state of being with an archetype which seems to be as much revealing from what we shall express to the archetype in the most righteous way.

To have mastery over the devil is to realize the devil is your friend, and will do whatever you want, but if you are to have friendship with the devil, you must not do good with what it offers. To allow the devil to suffer by using their friendship against them is to be master over it.
That sounds satanic go to the bible
The Devil: "To have mastery over the human is to realize the human is your friend, and will do whatever you want, but if you are to have friendship with the human, you must not do good with what it offers. To allow the human to suffer by using their friendship against them is to be master over it."

You just said a paradox
This is a very interesting video and very well made. It is thought provoking. The only thing that needs changing is the phrase about the "deal with the devil". Are those words taken from the Red Book? No one makes a deal with the Devil; nor God. Never. It doesn't work like that.
I thought about it and I agree
You can only achieve balance with Joy not make a deal
@@Expanding_Consciousness That is a very deep statement. I must reflect on this deeply.
Indeed.
It's the illusion of being able to make such a deal; which comes from us believing in perceiving a personal God and/or devil
How do you integrate the Devil within you? I struggle with this for years. Need some advice.
Check out the video on How to understand your dreams it will help you,
ua-cam.com/video/glYIQUGmkJU/v-deo.html
Happiness is fleeting and cunningly integrated but so is the first devil. So don’t hold on to it for you may risk a cycle of eating your own life just to feel something of which is designed to fade and bring a wholeness to the life. Happiness is fleeing

This made me think of the EU Anthem "Ode to Joy". Looked it up on yt and found that the German word for Joy is Freude. Sigmund Freud's name means Joy. Jung of course is the German word for young. So, Freud/Joy is the Jung/young man's devil... And yeah, Europe seems to be going to the devil too.
Always interesting to learn new thing's about words and sometimes somewhat frightening..
Best regards
Cool youtube comments that unexpected to be exist
@@Expanding_Consciousness
Im a german and this is completely wrong..
Firstly, the Name "Freud" is a jiddish name (Jiddish is also a germanic language). Freud was a jew and his name actually has nothing to do with the german word "Freude".
Its the same thing with the names "Zuckerberg", "Spielberg", "Rothschild" etc.
There is one part of the EU Anthem which has so much occultism in it while many dont realize it.
"Joy, beautiful spark of the gods, daughter of Elysium, we enter your sanctuary drunk with fire, heavenly ones. Your magic binds again What fashion has strictly divided; All people become brothers where your gentle wing resides."
Guess who is described by those lines. The wh.ore of babylon. Rome.
There is a reason why they've build the european parliament in the image of the tower to babel, you know..
@@BlitZkrieG988 Very interesting, thank you.
True and lasting Joy is a fruit of the holy spirit.
And it only comes from the individuation process,
Best regards
🔥
What "the devil" says in my understanding is that the man on the tower would want to be less serious in its condemnation of itself and the devil as the devil is also joy, something essential gratitude also makes us experience ☯
the devil is pleassure, not joy. Evryone who loses inner joy will aim for pleassure but it always end in pain and degredation bc it fragments and externalises attention
@@PersisP at the first sentence, I saw some sense in what you say, at the end I see all sense in it. Great share bro!
@@PersisPis it wrong to feel pleasure, I understand chasing it can be futile, but should we just strive to always be suffering, since pleasure isn't good? Genuinely curious?
haha no of course not. you get out of suffering by not chasing pleasure (outside and scattered) and facing pain/illusions. Inside is joy and love (centered and inside). Thats the whole thing, as long as you chase pleassure, its tied to suffering. Almost all older spirituality has that as a base teaching. In tantra Buddism, when they are really detached, they try to make love without that chasing of pleasure but being detached while experiencing a lot of energy and pleassure. Its not so much about avoiding it in the end but often thats a counter movement we need for a while not to get pulled into it and lose ourselves. Never noticed how you are pulled outside yourself, get clumsy, rude, almost animal like when you are close to getting ehat you desire? Just after you attain what you desires, there is a relaxation of your strongly externalised attention and it falls back into who you are at your core. This is the brief moment of relief. Then when you notice this doesnt last, you discard the vice and there is dissapointment and other negative emotions bc you sense it was false. You can even project that onto the object you chased and deem it as bad or disgusting. It didnt give you fulfillment, in the end it makes you feel empty bc it isnt permenent. People who dont pay attention then start the chase again, often bc people who chase pleasure strongly arnt in touch with the joy and love inside them, so they also are unware of the alternative. The more attention is outside of who you are daily, the more you come dependent on things outside yourself and it continues until you decide to look at the void thats fuelling the motivation to constantly chase. You need courage bc now have to turn around from chasing to standing still and tolerating pain. I hope all these people at the same time get to know the joy of being so they get some point of reference and stability in knowing they never lost that. I often write long comments sorry@@OpenheartOneMind
@PersisP thanks for the novel, it's all good I love to read 😂. I had a question tho, is the Dark Night of the Soul simply a period of detachment from worldly pleasures and getting in tune with the source of all joy/love, that internal void we keep running from? And once we stop running and just be still, we allow ourselves to bathe in our inner joy?
It’s not Mr D that’s dangerous. It’s mankind’s aimless drifting.

I'm not sure. In my meditations the red is usually related to violence. Like a warrior, a killer, sadist, or murder or at worst a beast.
As a cerebral man, perhaps Jung viewed war like and capacity to violence as the devil.
For mean I sense him as a serpent. His goal was not pain, but to the destruction of the sanity or will or capacity to love... really, to destroy their capacity to trust.
