How in the world did you get your oil filter off without oil dripping off your elbow?!?! Maybe it's located in a better spot than mine is. On second thought, knowing you, a relocator kit has been installed. So THAT'S the road you were telling me about. Great video! I can tell y'all are getting comfortable talking to "us" in the camera. Great job to both of you. Keep 'em coming.

I typically just let the oil drain for for an extended period of time (think 30 minutes+). Then you can pull the filter without making a mess. No relocation kit on our truck. And yes...that is the road that I was telling you about. Simply terrible with washboard and potholes. Wouldn't be bad for a few miles, but when driving on it for 120 miles......it's a different story. Glad to hear our content is improving. We are trying very hard. Thanks for the compliment!

If you think the McCarthy Road is bad, try driving on the Dalton Highway (US 11) north of Fairbanks, Alaska. 100% brutal roadway.....

We can imagine, and that is 100% why we didn't attempt it on this trip! We hope to have a more capable rig next time, though, and would love to give it a try!

Hi, I'm watching and enjoying your Alaska travel adventures. I drove to AK from northern Vermont in 2019 on my national parks road trip and drove the McCarthy road to that same parking lot. My drive was in a 2019 Jeep Trailhawk and I did not have any issues on that long gravel road. I'm heading off on another road trip to AK and the Arctic Ocean in July. This time I 'm driving a 2021 RAM 1500. Safe travels and keep those videos coming. 🐻

I will add that I stayed at Kennicott Glacier Lodge for 2 days and did the guided hike on Root Glacier. It sure sounds like the condition of the road has changed significantly since I was there in 2019. Hopefully your truck survived the road without any problems!

We are so glad you got to stay in Kennicott Glacier Lodge, that must have been amazing! The area is so beautiful we would have loved to stay in Kennicott longer than one day. The road conditions seem to change frequently, but we think the harshness also depends on the vehicle. We have a Ram 3500 diesel that is loaded with gear and easily weighs more than two small cars. The ride is rough no matter the road, but it was extra jarring on the McCarthy road. Thankfully our big Ram made the journey with no problems.😊

Excellent video. A question, I believe Bigfoot trailers don’t have ducted A/C. Is this a problem for cooling evenly and a lot of noise. I travel more in high temperatures.

Thanks for watching. You are correct, today's Bigfoot RV's do not have ducted A/C. Our trailer seems to cool evenly and remain plenty comfortable in very hot weather (near 100 degF). However, it is quite noisy on the inside when the A/C is running.

Wow! Long video but great to see. I almost felt like I was there, bouncing along traveling with Jeff & Heather. So much to see and experience. Awesome video!
