- Is it possible to find a man using only a name and a photograph?
Laura E. Hall has been searching for a mysterious man found in a picture next to Japanese text that translates to two simple words... Find Me.
Follow us on Laura's journey and learn everything she's done to try and find this person named, Satoshi.
This all began with a game taking place back in 2005 called Perplex City.

*I'm gonna answer some recurring questions:*
*Have you tried reaching out to the creators?*
Yes. I spoke to them before Laura. They don't want to release any more info about where this man is because the game is still technically going and it wouldn't be in the spirit of the game if they did (Laura is also married to one of the creators and they have promised to be as vague as possible until he is found).
*What if it's the location you gotta find?*
It's actually the person. Which is why the hint for this card was "My name is Satoshi." Laura has visited the area and took a picture where Satoshi stood. The creators would've announced the card as solved the second she posted her pic online had that been the case.
*What if the picture is an AI?* While the creators refuse to say where he is or who he is. They have announced that this person is a friend from someone within their group. They've also announced that this is a card that is possible to solve, unlike the other card that Laura mentioned at the beginning of the video.
If anymore recurring questions pop up I'll edit this post and add an answer to them :)
So the one person who genuinely cares (Laura) is married to someone who literally knows the answer, but won't tell her? Wtf. It's not a mystery, it's a relationship issue
@@peterkrueger6518 lmao
I dont quite get how the game is still going? wasn't the cube already found?
Peter Krueger it seems like Laura told them to be vague in the way it’s stated- it’s a game and Laura is determined to find him WITHOUT cheating it seems. she’s out so much time it it why spoil the mystery?
Laura is married to one of the creators... This is all a marketing ploy. Drum up lots new traffic to a dead ARG company website and when the time is right and you're getting enough clicks... boom... new game released. Laura is clearly in on this.
Imagine one day Satoshi knocks on her door and is like “haha, found you first!!!” and just runs away.

@@astral2048 nah he talks like a crackhead if anything
Word Unheard thats actually kinda smart.
I thought the same thing. But on the other hand he is Japanese and as this is a case that is mostly popular in the Western world, there comes the problem of people thinking "all Asians look alike". He might be on holiday there and considering how old this is, even visiting that French town and asking people there is most likely not gonna help. Furthermore, he was already a middle aged man back then and although social media is popular, a man in his late 40s/50s will most likely not have it anyways nowadays, especially if you consider Japans population and work life. Since he can afford the trip he most be a normal/higher worker, which makes him work for up to 20hrs a day. Or he might live in the countryside with no good access.. you never know.
Considering all of this I find it very unlikely that he will be found. Privacy is a huge deal in Japan and I feel like if someone goes this far they might end up in the Japanese countryside or "cage homes" (like in Hong Kong) looking for someone who has never been seen before by anyone.
Just thinking about it, if I posted a photo of my dad infront of a location not near to our home country, he will most likely never be found either because he's just a regular guy with no social media whatsoever, with all his friends in the 60s being the same as him.
Plot Twist : The FBI has been trying to track down this man for ages now, and they partnered with this company to sneakily get other people to help them without knowing that it could cost this man his life.

This has nothing to do with the Satoshi mystery, but I just want to say that the fact that the two women tried to track down two men on the internet just because they thought they had good looks is a very wrong and creepy thing to do. The worst part is when one of them thought it was cute when she was tracking them down through the internet and thought that the man was wrong for thinking it was creepy.
fearodactyl imagine if a man posted a photo of a woman online and asked people to find her
Glad I'm not the only one. And as KP says, it angers me that she gets a free pass because she's female.
Ikr like it's low-key creepy
And not to be rude or anything, but it's kinda their own fault for not at least trying to get their phone number/email or having some form of communication with these guys
And just bc you were too shy to talk to the person/refused to give them their phone number n stuff imo does not give you the right to just stalk someone
Honestly those were different times. That might sound like a cop out, but there were so many stupid things people wouldn't give a second thought about back then. I could totally see a person thinking of ways to reconnect with someone, and those are valid ways.
Actually, the woman was stupid for thinking it was cute, but at least the dude knew who she was. The more fucked up one is the first. He's just a random dude with pretty good looks and she didn't even try to talk to him, why she thought it was okay to try and have him located, I have no idea. He probably felt pressured to answer her because the media was involved, but I would be completely creeped out if I were him.

He could easily be a grand dad since the photo is (14?) years old so he's likely between 40-50 years old by now. That being said - I doubt he looks much different. Perhaps some salt & pepper hair and a crows foot.
I searched public records for Satoshi's living in France (figured there couldn't be very many). Surprisingly easy to find their photos. One was a photographer, one a glass blower, one was a jockey, one a wrestler/boxer, and another was a PhD student. Sadly none of them looked like this man, but a few of the last names didn't bring up any photos.

If you track him down, he will happily provide you with the information required to solve this card, and will also be able to prove his identity as The Real Satoshi - you don’t need to coerce or harass him into co-operating, you just need to find him. Satoshi has no connection with any employee of Mind Candy or Mind Candy’s business partners - pursuing them for information will be of no use. Finally, Satoshi possesses no information regarding the location of Perplex City’s $200,000 Cube, so you needn’t interrogate him about that either! As always with Perplex City, you needn’t (and mustn’t) break the law - or be mean! - in the course of your adventures. With all that said. good hunting, one and all….”

Wait what i thiught that guy was adam
The three most popular ways to write Satoshi in Japanese are: 里,恵,and 智. But there are at least 22 other ways. Why is this important? Well it's the major clue I believe. The Japanese writing and name imply that Satoshi is Japanese, but as was mentioned in the video he could be of any nationality.
But if we are to assume that he is Japanese and the kanji in his name mean wisdom then this will help us identify him. In Japan in order to obscure ones identify people often write their name in hirgana rather than Kanji (if their name has Kanji). In the same way that we only write our intials. With that in mind, there are many ways to write Satoshi using Kanji. People in this comment section are saying his name means 'wisdom' but I don't know where they are getting this information from because many Kanji with many meanings can be used to write Satoshi. But these three all mean wisdom and can be used to write Satoshi 恵,智, and 知.
If Satoshi is a real person and is Japanese but doesn't live in France then he most likley works for an international company. The fastest way to find him is to make this go viral on Japanese internet, if he even is Japanese.
Dark Japan god you deserve more likes

Im highly fascinated by this kind of smart asses...just wow💞💞
@@chaizan9733 Sorry I just wanted to post my thoughts. I didn't mean for it to sound that way.
@@darkjapan noooo, it wasnt sarcasm or any kind of mocking towards you. I really meant that i love deep thinkers and methodical minds like yours. Maybe my delivery wasnt the best😂😂😂but yeah, your comment was very interesting to read so please, no need to apoligize!
I'm glad that Laura emphasizes being respectful about searching for this person, because the situations described as examples of hunting someone down through a photo made me really anxious.
Bruh there's literally no way to find him, I MEAN LOOK AT THE HOUSES IN THE BACKGROUND!!! THE MAN IS IN THE ATTACK ON TITAN WORLD, SO HES NEITHER DEAD Or survived Eren.
Hes been found. Its on the website. He was found through facial recognition software.
@@doeeyes2 so people just google image search him and found him hanging out in some photos with his friend ? Nice.
This is basically what they do on tik tok with “this guy is cute help me find him!”
God that's so creepy. They had a chance to talk to them and they didn't. Taking a photo and stalking them is a huge invasion of privacy and very, very weird.
Satoshi has been found!!!! And just this month, too!
This is blowing my mind! I used to work for one of the companies the founder of Mind Candy/ Perplex City also founded. I knew of Perplex City but had no idea it went this far!!
"They have announced that this person is a friend from someone within their group" now this is an actual hint
"My name is Satoshi." Got it, we're looking for a 10 year old asian boy who travels with a yellow electric mouse and ran away from his mother the first chance he got.
POKEMON GONNA CATCH EM ALLLLL
Lmao
I was looking for this comment XD
Finally found you

It is time to rejoice, the man has been found
Whoa! Really nice intro, the animations were spot-on!
i'm just gonna say that the whole "snapping picture of a man" and then starting a whole tracking mission to find him is super creepy and gross, and if it was a man doing it to a woman he'd probably get charges against him.
did you uhm... watch the rest of it? the part with 2 females looking for men?
It’s bad either way, I don’t think anyone would say otherwise. Also I think this happened a while ago, the internet has truly changed
THANK YOU
@Manh Hung Nguyen he is referring to the story about the german chick in London
I was thinking that, like if I was on of those guys I’d get a restraining order, even if one of them lived in a different country
Hah, Satoshi - this takes me back - was on Unforums back in the Perplex City days. Quite a surprise to see Laura being interviewed on here as well :) An enjoyable trip down memory lane for me here, thanks IAM :)
Hello Fellow UFer!!!
Do you have any information on how to find Satoshi?
Thats Jackie Chan, he plays every character on Fresh Off The Boat
I am so glad I found this channel
bruh just post this on 4chan that's all you have to do.
They cant triangulate the bushes so they are totally lost on this one
@@bearcatben4762 you'd be surprised what appealing to a wider audience can do. Not saying anything would necessarily happen but it would increase chances
as she said she wants people to be chill and respectful when finding this man and people on 4chan are probably gonna be the opposite
@RiverOfSouls i think she said in the video that the prize was already given to someone who found the hidden object, she just wants to find the man because shes interested in the challenge
Hah, just let the gods at 4chan work in this case. He'll be located in a day.
Didn’t they find someone by just looking at their flagpole and the sky
@@noahhornbeak8831 The difference, in that case, is that it was a constant livestream. They weren't looking for the guy, they were looking for the location of the flagpole. Since it was a livestream, they were able to find the location by cross examining flight paths and weather patterns. In this case, you are working with a still image.
I was thinking that you could just use the EXIF data of the photo to find him
until I realized it was a physical copy
I am such a zoomer
LET’S GOOOOOOO!!!! WE DID IT!
