Congrats for the 500 followers! Exciting to see youre getting some success.
Just wanted to ask: Do you think that adult beginners can eventually get to a skill level where they can play high level concert peices? I started at 21 and practise every day for an hour and a half, but sometimes my goal of playing chopin pieces well feels impossible. But then, it is early days yet, I gues I need to give it some time.
I'm focusing on trying to develop good technique, practising my scales at the start of every practise session, and sight reading at the end.

Awesome! Congratulations on the 500 followers! I just got a piano after playing the violin for a few years. I'm glad there is a channel on UA-cam that is dedicated to the piano, and isn't just piano tutorials. Really like your content and I am looking forward to seeing this grow.

You all do a great job showing the serious and funny side of classical music. Dan playing Scarlatti K. 27 was funny with mittens.

Congratulations! I just found your channel yesterday via your Secret piano battle commentary. I'm still catching up on all your content. I really appreciate the perspectives you all bring to the table.
Not sure if you've discussed this before, but what do you think of all the videos of pianists playing songs with the colored lights representing the notes scrolling down onto the keys (Guitar Hero style)? I think it looks cool, but personally I don't like how some students try to use those to learn how to play songs. Part of the problem for me is that the overhead view presents a very flat view of the hand and fingers, so students who try to "piano hero" their way through songs without outside guidance often present very strange hand postures... Just my random ideas for a future video.

Hi, claubear, welcome to the channel! We're very glad to hear that you're enjoying our videos!
I think the visualization is cool and I can understand why a lot of people love it. I don't think it's a great idea to learn music from it though because it seems like a very slow tedious process. If a piece repeats a section but changes just a few notes or a couple chords, you can flip back and forth and make quick comparisons with a traditional music score, while using the synthesia visualization, you would have to playback each section and potentially zoom in to look at the notes closer. Not a good use of time in my opinion! Learning to read notes might take a more effort at the start but it will save a lot of time in the long run.
You bring another good point - trying to imitate technique with only one birds-eye view of the hands is not great because you don't actually get to see the intricate wrist motions that might be required of certain passages.
On the other hand, if there's no sheet music available for that particular piece, it might be a useful tool to help people transcribe the piece.
      Thank you for comment!!!
