I usually break off all my tungsten before it gets the chance to start chipping 😪

You can use some wire through the weight instead of the pliers. Safer and doesn’t damage the pliers

I buy all my tungsten bare if I can, I like the torching effect and dark finish that results. Great tip!
Maybe you can help me with a tungsten related issue. I normally use Swagger Tackle tungsten which are awesome, smooth, slightly flared line holes and very consistent, but I tried a cheaper brand of 1 oz barrel weights made by Vike, they are garbage with inconsistent hole sizes and rough hole opening that abrade and in short order cut the line. Do you have any suggestion to get rid of the roughness and polish the edges of the line hole in these tungsten weights? Any suggestions would be a great help, thank you

Or you can use patent pending Flat Out Tungstens which are the original permanent flat black finish that never chips, peels or frays line🤙😎

Dose it work with other metals?

I ordered some 2 oz Vader flippin' weights and just waiting for them to arrive. Swagger tungsten is the best I have found with the edges of line holes nicely rounded over and smooth, other brand are junk in this area.

by far heavy metal and strike king tungsten is the best I’ve used heavy metal is over priced too but don’t chip.

Use MAP gas it gets about 3 times as hot as propane. Will save alot of time. I will be doing this heat trick to all my tungsten

as the original tungsten fishing weight manufacture in China, I can tell you don't heat it to 800 degree

Almost all tungsten is mined and refined/processed in China as that is where the ore is. Does the tungsten off gas something nasty when heated?
