The Ford engines used frequently in British Allard were 30 hp ex Bren Carrier engines because they had lead indium bearings not white metal. The engines were mounted way backin the chassis because they started life as hill climb specials. The LMB front axle conversion gave feed back one minute and went dead the next. They were all hairy cars and even the M types could give a good account of themselves on the open road in the late sixties. Great days, thanks for the memories!
I hate to correct people but the gentleman said car is all original@3:55 the heads should be block letters not script . I have built hot flatt engines since the 60s.I understand you dont want 70 year old alum heads as they have electrolisis issues. but a super car it is
That my very well be true for the man buying or scrounging for the heads, but you have to take into account that Vic Edelbrock Sr. was one of the guys who actually built that motor, so he could've done something unusual. I am in no way saying you are wrong, you obviously know flatheads, just that ive seen stranger things. If it is my money......I'll go with your theory though.
@@bradcarroll3719 As I have many old sets of block letter heads on my wall . you dont want to run these as the white buildup inside is not good. the script letter heads are just a newer version. I do prefer Navarro heads.& they reproduce them again.
I had tons of fun with most of these cars since my dad spent the time restoring them for DeWayne. To be honest these two cars are not even in the top ten in that collection.
Oh man, I'm glad you didn't go 80, he didn't have the hood latched down! Both wonderful cars I never seen either...
13:05 ol' boy hits the start button juuuust right. Love it!

@@rushzimi3865 He died from a stroke. A part of the cars are gone by a auction.
Well I'm tickled pink just to see these two beauties. The 'motorpool 'shot looked immense of what he had.

Wonderful video and excellent choices.
75 years old Kurtis ! belongs in a indiana jones type movie , or a sci fi type, amazing !
I like the mercury sound.
Amazing statement about his rebuilds, even original BOLTS!
Most restorers use original hardware.
What mustache wax do you use? It's amazing.
Love the car mate 🇦🇺🏁
Charming.
The taillights on the Curtis look the same as Indian motorcycle taillights. True Dennis?

MyClassicCarTV i had a 72 yellow G T, it looked like a little vette.
13:22 13:35 kinda sounds like a Harley
It looks like an English Morgen sport car I love 💓 it 🟡🏁
I thought the Curtis was a Muntz when I first saw it.
They are related.

👍🤩💚
Weird sound from that Mercury...
Could have closed the hood.
The hood was misaligned from the factory so when he restored the car he put it back that way.
@@MyClassicCarTV Wow, would you have done the same, Dennis? I think I would have a hard time not making it straight.
