@@randomchannel6348 her bell in the 50s is NOTHING like the one it wears today. I think it was gonna be used on 19 or 20 when the plans were eventually scratched out with the 1472 in 1991 and 1992-93 respectively
@@nicholasmedovich8691 yeah, I know that, I was saying I missed her old 5 chime whistle, NOT her bell, she wears a Santa Fe 6 chime now, complement different than her original CB&Q 5 chime
I’m pretty sure you already know this but the reason why the light was moved down a bit is because the light doesn’t beam far enough down the track to comply with regulations. Before anyone asks, “Why don’t they just put a LED on it?” I have a feeling people would complain endlessly.
It was moved down to conform with the "family look" of the GCRy's other operable locomotives 18 and 29 and it was the personal preference of GCRy CMO Robert Franzen who rebuilt 4960. It had nothing to do with the light emitted by the headlight.
It’s a shame that 5632 didn’t make it at least we have 4960 still around. It’s now owned by Grand Canyon railway.
CB&Q 4960 lives on today in Williams, Arizona, as the Grand Canyon Railway (GCRY) 4960!
We just got to see it running strong on June 5th!
@@roadstorails2349 I miss the 4960’s 5 chime whistle 😢😢
