Absolutely DO NOT admit the debt is yours or agree to any payment as this will restart the statute of limitations. If you choose to talk to a debt collector, require the debt collector to produce the purchase agreement & signed credit card agreement as proof of ownership b4 you will discuss the debt. Do not accept an affidavit or bill of sale. It's the debt collector's job to prove ownership, which most debt collectors will not do.

So what if the opposing party sends interrogatories, and expects me to answer to prove Thier case for them? Used solo suit they stopped actions against me then sent me the interrogatories to fill out and send back

@JamesGoff-e3c so they dropped the lawsuit, but still sent you papers/questions to fill out?

What if sued by midland credit for a credit card debt they bought for Pennie’s on the dollar. If I ask - does midland have to provide the original signed credit card application?

We are a self-help tool and not a law firm, so we would recommend reaching out to legal aid groups in your area.
