This is an incredibly beautiful display of shared cultural heritage. Seeing the children participate in singing, dancing, and reverence alongside their parents, grandparents, and elders is very uplifting.

love watching dances and listening to the music. I wish more Mexicans had a string connect with our native blood and realized how with Spanish conquistadors and the building of borders and county lines, it split tribes and created divides just because we are in a different "country"

I know that's so true but a lot of us are starting to wake up and do our research. The truth will always lead us home. I'm Mexican Mestiza with 41% Native American. I had my raw dna sent to a lab to find out what tribe my ancestors were from. My family is from Cananea Sonora Mexico. I found out I came from the Pima tribe. As I searched deeper I learned that Cananea Sonora, is only about 226 miles away from the Pima reservation in Arizona. It's pretty amazing how accurate my dna test is! Also I found out I have tons of cousins in Arizona.
I pray more of our Mexican brothers and sisters are able to find answers about our Native American side.
      God bless

Pretty cool. They are what you might call the true "landlords" of this country, i *still* consider it theirs. Glad they take some pride in their history/culture.

This is beautiful. Thank you for posting. I am just finding out that one of my great-grandmothers was Pima, and I am kind of mad that I didn't know, but my grandmother (her daughter) was adopted so I it's not anyone's fault really. I am just glad to be getting to know a little bit more about my heritage.

+Paige O SRPMIC is one of the few Rezs that the land is owned by original Pima families. A good Pima friend that was a high school dropout. Died with millions. His land is where the freeway is now, along with the Wal-Mart. Another friend was not so luck, his land is leased to corporate farming operation. He gets a small check every time they harvest.

It's really sad either way, but I guess it's good that the first family have profited from the changes that came with time.

@Stephanie Ellison I've has a Pima Electrician work for me. Jeff Hayes, he talked about the Pima and a connection to Mexico sister Tribe. Not many Pima left now. With all the Inner-breeding of Tribes. And I believe the Pima Language is now Lost. Thxs Peace
