Borderlands 2 is what made me understand how strangely aggressive life could be at a young age. And borderlands pre sequel made me love the beauty and mechanics of borderlands.
My friends and I really didn't like Wonderlands at all. Even on Hard Mode the game was trivially easy. Most bosses took less than 20 seconds. The map design was also notably bad. It felt like fight room after fight room after fight room, with very little thought put into any downtime between them.

I really liked the base game, but the dlcs were ass, i hate the dungeons in that game, and i was dumb enough to preorder it for $100 since i thought they would be story dlcs.

End game has literally always been what keeps people coming back, it's why 3 flopped at release ( other than story ) and people were constantly asking where's raid bosses? Whole heartedly agree the story of 3 is ass however that being said letting the story completely ruin it for you is kinda weird for a Borderlands game. The improvements to gameplay from the gun uniqueness, level design, vh builds, etc easily put BL3 in top 3 catagory.
I personally put bl3 in number 1. The story is ass of course but after 450h, I still have extreme fun with the gameplay and im planning to put another 100-200h into it.

Glad your willing to say all the good things about borderlands 3, because there’s so much to like there. Just mute the audio and the game is good, my only problem really with it is that because you get legendaries so often you practically never use anything else and gray and green weapons are never even close to necessary, which makes the game way too easy

I started BL3 about a week ago and have been having a blast with it. I've only ever played BL2, Pre-Sequel, and now BL3. Played the hell out of BL2 on Mac back in the day, and then played the hell out of it again on Nintendo Switch. BL3 on PS5 now, but yes, BL2 is the best.
Well i can see how it is bland after later games since it doesn't have as many skills but im not a fan of BL3 because of cringe it is. I don't really like the pre sequel because i didn't like the setting and characters as much. I also loved that in BL1 the enemies could carry really cool random weapons that they drop when killed. I never played the Tiny Tina game and it does look pretty good so I need to give it a shot.
It objectively makes a lot of sense, considering both Wonderlands and Borderlands 3 have a lot more going for them than the first game, despite them not being the best sequels
@@adamgomez1279 I disagree. Borderlands 1 is by far the worst game in the series when it comes to gameplay alone, while 3 is the best in that regard. When we're talking story then both aren't great. Borderlands 1 doesn't really have much, and what it has isn't good, but I guess 3 is worse because since 1 doesn't really focus on it's story the quality doesn't matter as much while 3 focuses a lot on it's bad story. So in conclusion: When looking at gameplay 3 is leagues better than 1, when we're talking story then yes, 1 is better but not by much.
Borderlands 1 by far has the best atmosphere of any of the Borderlands games. It's the most "realistic", and not over the top with the tone, comedy, power scaling. It's my favorite guilty pleasure comfort game. Just walking around a bleak desert planet killing bandit kings. I think I bought it on release bc of all the "Million guns" marketing on tv. This game def had hype on release. Also Pre Sequel is awful. Easily the worst main game.
Idk, to me, what I got from the game world being kind of empty, hearing the same song loop (I can still hear it) and B1 barely having a story was that it was undercooked moreso than having a good atmosphere. The atmosphere that is there reminds me of what's wrong with the game. I get where you're coming from but I think Borderlands 1 is like that because it was the minimum viable product and Borderlands 2 was what they were ultimately trying to achieve. Excellent main quest line, well paced, missions and variety that blew B1 away, a compelling villain. S-tier game. And unlike the other first person ones, I did sometimes laugh at the jokes. haha
Claptrap I personally disagree with you on Pre-sequel, because it's my favourite BL game (after Tales). Sure it didn't reinvent the series or anything like that, but all the new things introduced I strongly enjoyed. Low gravity - for me it's fun to jump all around Oz kits/Jet pack - while I think Relics are more fun, because of all the diversity, I think OZ's were more interesting in concept(like having better damege, accuracy, speed depending on oxygen, so if there were slightly more types of them, I would enjoy them more) And slammig, double jumping, hovering is fun. It made the movement more enjoyable. Grinder - being able to craft weapons and other items, was a great addition. Would love if the improved upon it in BL3 Cryo - like i really hope everyone agrees it's more fun then slag And Glitch weapon rarity is the most interesting rarity in series. It's sad that also didn't made it into BL3 And then there are the Vault hunters, which are personally my favourites in series. So if it wasn't for the almost non existing endgame, it would be basically the perfect Borderlands game for me. There's more I would say about this game, but it would be harder for me to stop. But like I respect your opinions and i understand not everyone likes low gravity.
I would like to give some appreciation to Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. I have more than 1k hours in bl2, 100 in bl1 and almost 300 in the pre sequel. I can confirm it has some of the weakest side quests, but there are some key points that make the game better than what most people think: The characters feel so unique to me. Athena and Nisha are the characters that i played the least, but the touch on wilhelm changing his aspect as you progress on his modifications is amazing, claptrap is so bad yet sooooo funny to play with, and the dlc characters, aurelia is kinda meh (though is a freezing beast and to me, freezing is the most op thing in this game), and Timothy (jack's double) it's one of the most unique and op characters in all the franchise. Also, would like to mention Aurelia has a really unique skill tree focused on coop, but i only played this game alone. NPC's have special dialogues depending on the character, which leads to more jokes and it is a really nice touch. The DLC, omg, the claptastic's voyage might be the best DLC in the whole franchise with dragon's keep DLC. The concept and the gameplay is a nostalgia slap to the fans. I feel this game has the problem of being released after Bordelands 2, since most people, as Jonathan said, think it's a worse version of bl2 and leave the game. Everyone should give some love to this game since the more you play it the better it feels.
About the end of last year, I played it and thought it was on level with bl2. I dont know why people hated it so much. If only they didn't, we could have had even more dlcs, but 2K Australia actually shut down after they stopped touching the game, so I sadly think they can't really come back to it like bl2 with the fight for sanctuary dlc, because the studio is gone so I don't think they can actually do anything with the game. (I might be wrong, though.)

@@lainetainton8661 because it's not a good bl game. It has no real end game except the raid boss, farming was none existent till they added some loot pools but it wasn't enough. It was a rush job and clearly so. If you make farming and end game completely boring you loose the majority of fans. Wonderlands people say is a good game but they hated end game.
@lilpain1997 I guess it depends on what gear you wish to farm for. I really like the sniper that Swagman drops as well as the ease of bonus package from the Torks. You can usually get those items quite quickly from one to another. I would have liked to have seen more legendaries added to the loot pool from Iwajira however, as the Thingy sucks and is only vending fodder. I can see why people say it sucks but I found the balancing to be better in TPS, and I also quite liked Holodome, especially the badass round.
As a Borderlands lover...for over a decade...and a constant Borderlands YT streamer...I could not, like literally, could not find EVEN ONE, thing that I did not agree with in this video...In my opinion, BL2 is THE best game, and my single most favorite game of ALL TIME!!! I really didnt like borderlands the first time i played it. I played borderlands 1 a long time ago, split screen with someone, and just could not get into it About a week ago though, my husband and i decided to try borderlands 2 together -- i am in LOVE with this series, 1 through 3, obsessed. We beat borderlands 2, are in the middle of the pre sequal, and when 3 wants to work (lag) its so satifying, and i love the characters! Personally my ranking is: (from best to worst) Borderlands 2 Borderlands 3 Pre sequel Borderlands 1
Is it really though? Even when it came out, the first 6 or so hours were rough. And once it does get going, it's still not as fun as the others. The writing that's there isn't annoying like Borderlands 3 but that's about it. It was the first one so people have an attachment to it but if you were to just ask a new player to play them, #6 probably isn't an unfair ranking.

New games are not automatically considered better. *Particularly for this franchise, you've made a very weak point.* New games actually have to do more things better to be considered better. B1's problem isn't just that it's old, it's that it was the minimum viable product whereas B2 was where everything truly came together and was fully realised. So over a decade later it's still holding the line. Poor pacing in the first half was a huge problem with Borderlands 1 in 2009.
the first six hours is like the best part most people have an issue with the second half of the game which is slow and a little tedious but still better than tps 3 and wonderlands no question

My point is most new olayers who come into games now will think the new ones are better just as we’ve seen with assassins creed and call of duty. Borderlands 1 is my most favorite in the series. Your complaints are actually my praises. Love the free roaming, work at your own pace adventure. Feels like a treasure hunt in the wild west. My go to cozy game.
I had a pretty similar reaction to B3 - like it made me question if the series was for me anymore. Tho I'm surprised you didn't mention that you meet Penn & Teller and Tommy Wiseau in side-missions. Tho that's also a criticism: the best stuff is buried is side quests - including the Handsome Jack stuff!
Good ranking man i am new to borderlands and have started with the pre sequel in 2024 ..should probably have started with 2 but didnt know ..personally i have loved tps and im looking forward to 2 & 3 ..i think in total i paid £12 for the handsome collection (pre sequel & 2 and a lot of their dlc) and the borderlands 3 discs all on ps4. Pretty amazing deal for the amount of content really lol. TPS looks and runs really nice on my ps4 too though it does make the console LOUD at times when there are loads of explosions and lasers and digital worlds on screen.
I'm not trying to come at you, but not playing the bl1 dlc and making this video just discredits you imho. That combined with ranking the pre-sequel over bl1 is not exactly something that I think I could be persuaded to agree with, nostalgia aside. On another note, bl1 had an insane amount of hype. Anyone who liked games was hyped about the first game ever to be advertised as having over one million different pew-pews in it. Later we realized it was just an FPS Diablo-style loot system, but in a good way. I remember getting the Gameinformer with the original (realistic) borderlands artwork on the cover with the buggy and the bandits on it so you knew the multi-page article in the middle was going to be about Borderlands. They also had Cage the Elephant's "Ain't no Rest for the Wicked" for their gameplay trailer which drew a lot of attention at the time. I also disagree with some other rankings but I get that's mostly subjective unless we have some kind of ranking standard to go by.
I havent played all of them but heres how it goes for me 5. Pre sequel: I could rank it higher but i never finished it so I can't properly rank it. 4. Borderlands 3: combat and gameplay are the best with very fun feeling weapons and sound design but the story is the worst ive played in any video game and the endgame content is very messy even compared to bl2. 3. Borderlands 1: Don't have much to really say about it but I had enough fun playing it and had fun with the knox dlc. 2. Original Tales: This is where the humor and story of the series peaked, yeah it is telltale gameplay but it's the only game in the series where I was fully invested in the story, the loaderbot plot twist on the last chapter actually got me and it was hype. 1. Borderlands 2: Good story and gameplay, the endgame content is what makes it though, thanks to joltz showing everyone how fun runs can be i've done so many runs just getting to level 80 and going after the fun raid bosses (except for dexiduous that one is hot garbage)

Bl2 end game literally is extremely limited... build variety is none existent nor is weapon variety. 2 has a great story and side content, but its end game isn't great. He said lvl80, so it's clear he never went full end game... as it would be lvl80 op10. You people literally brush all of bl2s issues under a really large rug all the time. I have thousands of hours in it and love, it's end game is weak. And no skipping op levels doesn't magically solve its poor balancing issues, it just further proves the point of how bad end game is. Op levels with broken health values don't help either.

@RexyTheMagicalDinaur I already said that skipping op levels proves my point that's its end game is not all that good. The raid bosses are completely fucked and have broken values, skipping it further proves just how much people throw everything under a rug for it. Stop letting nostalgia get in the way. Bl3 has an awful story, but its end game is actually better than 2s as you can use a lot of weapons, and there's more than just one build per character. You can state what you think but it's just pure nostalgia.
I've only ever played and completed BL 1, 2 and Pre Sql and maybe it's because I haven't tried the latest ones, but Pre Sql had my favorite gameplay of the three as I found alot of freedom in movement with the low gravity mechanic. Sure, the characters were alright, the story was okay, and the environment was decent, but man I loved the movement
Having bl1 worse than the presequal is wild to me. I've tried to get into the presequal a few times and its just lame. I think if you played the dlc for bl1 you'd rank them differently.
The teaser trailer they had for Borderlands 3 was so amazing. It looked like they were going to make a more serious game and story. And all the characters looked badass and gritty in that trailer. Then the actual Game drops, and EVERYONE is obnoxious, empty, ugly, screaming, not funny, forced to either be heroes or to be just ridiculous villains with annoying voices, like there's zero in between, there's ZERO interesting nuanced characters or anything, they're all just annoying, self righteous pricks ALL of them. Really wish they had matured the series instead and actually let the villains be serious for Borderlands 3. You can still have plenty of jokes, humor, slapstick etc. But they really could have just let the villains BE badass and not a total JOKE as well 🤦🏻♂
Looking back at the pre sequel... It's story is actually amazing, it fits perfectly inbetween 1&2 but bl3 has nothing going for it except for gameplay feeling much more smooth.
My list 1: borderlands 2 (do I need to explain?) 2: borderlands 3. Bit of a hot take hear but the gameplay is the best in the series (my opinion) 3: tales of the borderlands. Story was great, characters were charming and memorable 4: TTWL. I thought the fantasy setting was cool. I’m a fan of Tina’s character and I thought Andy did a good job at the voice acting. 5: borderlands (1) the world design was good. The guns felt powerful and it started it all 6: the pre sequel. I’m not a big fan of the game but I do see where people can like it. World design is decent, gameplay is basically the same as bl2 but low gravity and there is laser guns. 7: new tales. Haven’t played this one but from the clips I’ve seen it looks like bl3 but without the fun gameplay. What do you think? Should I never have an opinion again? Was I correct on some thing? What would you change?
FACTS. bl 1 had an apocalyptic planetary life with mystery and the potential in it. The writing was much better and the humor was MUCH LESS cringe. Sure the gameplay was mediocre and the loot was the same. THEY ALL FELT DIFFERENT as opposed to BL2 where everything looked different but felt the same. Pre sequel was arguably more fun than 2. Wonderlands over 3 is crazy to me even tho I think WL gets way too much hate. The DLC actually ruined it for me, which in the series history, the DLCs are almsot always the best part. 1, 2, and 3 have amazing DLC's.

I love the Borderlands games. Been playing them since #1 came out. But I still go back to 1 every once in a while, bc, while it has its flaws, I dig the slightly more serious tone. Especially at times, like when you go to Sledges Safehouse for the first time. It nails the eerie, dangerous vibe. B2 is def #1. Now if they would only add a hardcore mode.
Wonderlands is the only one that punishes you for dying (sometimes), so it's the only one I go back to. I think if Borderlands 2 was just a little bit more punishing, it would be one of my all time favourite games.
As someone who really likes BL2 the loot system is absolute trash. There is nothing rewarding or fun about killing the same boss 20-30 times for 1 legendary drop because everything has a 10% drop chance, drops aren't calculated independently, and some bosses drop other legendaries and or skins/heads which means some legendaries effectively have a 5% or 3% drop chance even on the highest difficulties. Also, when you finally do get your drop it can be 1 or 2 levels below your level meaning it's basically useless at high levels because of how enemies scale and you have to farm the boss all over again. That being said all of these loot problems can be fixed with mods but I thought it was worth mentioning that even though BL2 is the best fps Borderlands game it still has its faults. Also, the slag system is kinda shit.
I've just started with Borderlands 1. I like the gameplay-loop but it's in fact a little boring. But it's like Diablo; you play and play and loot and loot and forget time. Good to know it gets even better. Played Tales a long time before just because I love Telltales but didn't understand that much about the lore. Will play through the complete franchise now I know there's plenty to discover.

Honestly Borderlands 1 will probably always be my favorite. Something about it just hits a certain way, and everything since then has moved away from the kind of gaming experience I enjoyed. I remember playing Borderlands 2 for the first time and just instantly being disappointed at how much less fun the gameplay felt. In the years since the game has grown on me but even so, gameplay wise it just isnt as fun.
Let's be honest here bro BL1 is my favorite in the franchise and if it wasn't successful there wouldn't be a Borderlands franchise to begin with because if it had failed and sold little to no copies they'll be no precious BL2 and beyond, also the Dlc's of BL1 made the overall full game experience way better in my opinion but it's your video and I respect your opinion.
I love BL3 purely because of how the combat just feels so damn good. I don't give a shit about the story, but to be honest, I'm not playing BL2 for the story either. The gameplay, mechanics, and build variety is my first priority, and for that I love BL3.

I was shocked that Tales From The Borderlands was in your top two, and then I had to think about it. Story and character wise, none of the other games are beating it. I remember playing the demo for it and I immediately bought the season pass after the first 5 minutes 😂. It’s in my top two as well, but but I’d put Borderlands a three because I’m biased towards that game.
Good discussion on each. I have essentially the same placements. I think the one thing Gearbox has been consistently really good on is their dlc’s. If I include those, I think I have a little more praise for BL3 as the full content package had some of my favorite areas, weapons, and story threads. I agree with your point on the size and level design of the open maps portions, but I do think BL3 and wonderlands kinda stand alone on that front. BL2’s story missions are pretty heavy enter generic square room -> go to hallway -> enter rectangular area etc whereas the verticality in the story mission areas for BL3 and on have been significant improvements
TPS characters have better skills than bl2. (This is not saying that bl2's is bad, just that tps's feel really good). Like Timothy's, one of his capstone's applies an effect to his current weapon based on the manufacturer of the one you swapped off of. This means a elemental jakobs, or a dual element maliwan is possible and eat to get. Additionally, in another tree, he can get second winds off of his doppelgangers' death. This can trigger off of moving far enough away from them that they despawn. The thing that makes TPS this low is there's almost no dedicated drop locations for any legendary item in the entire game. This is bad because basically your build is now up to random chance, if you want to use legendaries.
I enjoyed tps I think people are slightly too harsh on the game because it came straight after the best game of the series, it was kinda destined to fail as it was unlikely it would be as good as 2
Nice ranking, First tales is my favorite but I also had a pretty good time with B2, specially with friends. Couldn't get into B1, but i might try tiny tinas, also, claptrap
bl2's good weapon spread is actually pretty equal. In fact, some of the most powerful are vanilla weapons, like the unkempt herald and the fastball. The sham and bee shield are also vanilla, and so is the lyudima.
Completed bl1, bl2, bl:tps, bl3 and Wonderlands, and that's my top: 1) BL2. Simply best game of the series. It has better story than every other game, better rpg system, better lategame (in a miles), better characters and DLC's. Simply Goat of series. 2) Wonderlands. And here's some sort of hot take. It has kinda trashy story, but it has such a beautiful areas and visuals. There's couple of quests which can be named the best in the series (in terms of fun and chaos). But it lacks of lategame (like every other game, except BL2). 3) BL:TPS. Another hot take, probably. But it has good and linear story, and Jack's storyline is kinda the best in the series. But it lacks of interesting areas, and extremely lacks of lategame (technically, there's no lategame). 4) BL1. Simply outdated game, tbh. It might be good back in 2009, but not anymore. It has pretty good DlC's, but that's it. 5) BL3. Completely trash Story. Completely trash characters. Trash lategame. Bad locations. But good visuals, and thank goodness good legendary drop rate, it's legitimately the only reason i kept playing it, it has kinda interesting weapons.
The story of BL3 was meh, nothing special, but the gameplay itself (gunplay and combat) and all the sidequests were pretty good IMO. Although I didn't like how you'd get completely OP weapons quite often so you'd never even take a look at grey/green/blue weapons really. Had a legendary flamethrower pistol, which I got at I believe level 17, which I still used at level 35ish because it was absurdly OP. But I really love the post-story aspect of the game, playing it in Mayhem Mode and/or the true vaulthunter mode is a lot of fun. Also the humor is good (mostly), although the characters weren't that well written (Amara's voicelines were pretty cringe). Krieg was good tho.

While I do like how they switched things up on Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands and made vast improvements in the writing and world navigation/game design, the dlc, lack of impact from the guns and loot, and post game have kneecapped Wonderlands in a brutal way. The depth that most of the guns have in wonderlands is not as varied as 3 except that it’s more dnd inspired. While that’s cool and everything, the emphasis on this guns never contribute to the experimentation of your character. Which I feel like there isn’t enough to make your character badass or make the journey/quests/enemy engagement as rewarding/satisfying. This game needed better content and dlc to keep me engaged. I understand BL3 base game is flawed in a lot of ways. But the dlc (Bounty of Blood, Guns Love and Tentacles, The Raids, Cartel Event, the circle of slaughter, etc.) and true vault hunter mode brought it back to where I spent many hours collecting better wacky loot to make my character even more insane than base game. Nothing was holding it back. Unfortunately, the devs screwed up the post game content for wonderlands by adding timed dlc events. And the rewards were pretty bad. Making the gameplay loop of wonderlands feel nonexistent. Don’t get me wrong, base game wonderlands is fun. But just like Diablo, Monster Hunter world, and Destiny 2, you have to provide some good endgame activities and content to add more to Wonderlands longevity. Sadly, it was short lived and the devs messed it up big time. Which hurts the progression and fun of Wonderlands. Thats why you don’t hear the community talk much about this game except that is was good when it launched. Base game Wonderlands is better than Borderlands 3. But post game Wonderlands is pretty bad. Overall, meh.
I really enjoyed the Wonderlands campaign but the chaos chambers being almost the entire endgame and the very lackluster dlc content being so small compared to previous lands games just killed my interest in the game it felt empty and barebones
B1 and b2 are connected that’s how 25:07 handsome jack become the villain she (angel) is handsome jack daughter she got the first vault hunter to open the vault so jack could use that power but she never wanted that so in b2 she sacrificed herself to save them but jack still opens the vault then that’s how they find out there more out there just like this bc the second pair of vault hunters were guided by the first vault hunters an jack face is messed up cause by litith powers I believe in b1
Borderlands 3 is the best easily. The dialogue is cringy but if you plan to play it for any decent amount of time, the INFINITELY better gameplay will easily make it the most enjoyable.
It could be nostalgic but BL1 is 2nd right behind BL2 at 1st and 2nd place. It’s got a perfect amount of loot, side quest, characters. The worst part of BL1 is the world feels a little empty but unique guns actually felt unique and you can actually remember what quest/npc you got that gun from. Now a days it’s so many weapons that you’re just overwhelmed. And it’s actually a good challenge going through the game. I hate how games are getting so easy now. But it’s just my opinion
BL2 was the first, and only, game I've ever played in my entire life that mindfu*ked me. In BL1, probably one of my favorite games of all time, Mordecai was my guy. Still my favorite character in the series. Using Bloodwing was so much fun, watching enemies explode into loot piles and blood. He genuinely felt like my own pet. I loved saying "get 'em blood" or "give 'em hell blood", everytime I used the ability. The moment Jack killed Bloodwing I turned my 360 off and didn't touch the game again for over a year. I was so pissed off, I legit cried (if you have an issue with this then fu*k you. Emotions are normal and healthy) and mourned Bloodwing. It made me hate Jack so much as a person that I myself, wanted to kill him. I've never felt that level of immersion or passion toward a game or character again or before that. BL2 absolutely masterfully made Jack to be the most unlikeable, loathesome, vile, piece of shit human villain of all time. BL2 was a great game overall. It had a massive spike in difficulty over BL1 which was really annoying in solo play, but very fun and engaging in coop. Things I didn't like: shooting enemies in the head didn't make their heads explode anymore. Similarly you couldn't shoot off limbs and there wasn't any showers of blood when killing enemies. They changed the car horn from the hysterical high pitched "meep" my brother and I tormented each other with to just a generic and bland horn that we don't even use. I didn't like that Dahl sniper rifles were always burst fire when zoomed. It made them nearly unusable. The second and third shots almost never hit critically and the sniper had such a limited ammo pool that the burst fire chewed through ammo way too fast. Torgue weapons were basically unusable with their abysmal bullet velocity and Maliwan pistols were useless with their tiny mag caps and using 2 rounds per shot. Jakobs SMGs and Combat Rifles were all single shot for some reason. So while BL2 did exponentially expand on the gun diversity of BL1, a lot of the gun variants were not fun to use because of terrible accuracy, weird functions that made no sense, massive ammo consumption, and slow bullet speed. I did enjoy the addition of Bandit Items. The names were great and they were usually really good functionally. This is where my hot take comes in, the overall story was pretty weak and I found it very difficult to stay invested in it. The story missions were fairly uninteresting and tedious. BL1 was very simple. Find the vault, open it, get rich. Exactly as advertised. I actually really liked the surprise ending of the vault being a multidimensional prison for monsters as a twist. I thought it was super funny and fitting for the overall feel of the game. BL1 was way more satisfying to finish than BL2, storywise. BL2 however blows every single other BL game away in environment and general gameplay. The gun fights are fun, the enemies are great, and the environments were pretty diverse. The exceptions being the caustic caverns(hated that environment completely), the spiderants(I don't know why they change the designs of these or why they made them so much more annoying to fight), and the crystal monsters(take way too long to kill, hit way too hard, and aren't interesting in any way).
Never really played a BL game until this year with BL2, I played 1 for a few hours back in the day but after playing BL 2 man the math just doesn't math and you can tell they didn't know how to math the end game out at all to the point I'm almost 100% sure they only made that short guy so broken just so people could chess end game. It's a fun game I like it but after I beat the main story and the DLC I got I think that's where I'll stop. I'd love to do endgame and learn all the whatever but it just looks like way to much chess for me. Also doesn't help when you look up videos on BL 2 the first few you see talk about how the end game bosses are pretty much god's unless you use a bug or a chess build that's just lazy work on who ever made BL's part.
My list is controversial i think but its: 1. Bl3 2. Tales from the borderlands 3. Bl2 4. Bl1 5. Pre sequel 6. New tales Borderlands 3 is 1st because that was my first borderlands game that i completed and i didnt care about the story that much so it was great for me 😅
I just love Borderlands 1. Atmospheric, desolate feeling, good soundtrack, nostalgic, specially the revolvers. Bl2 is beautifully good, but i HATE what they did with the revolvers on this game

As someone who is gonna make his kids to play bl1 just like how my dad made me back in 2010 I can respect your placement of the game it's a fantastic setting especially if you read the books that add more to the setting and theme it still can't really hold up gameplay wise but hey as long as it's above shit tales from the borderlands it works for me

wtf everyone saying bl is coop game, from my experience coop always ruins this game by making it literally impossible to play. Never completed or enjoyed in coop, but in single play I completed and enjoyed it much more than in coop.
AS someone who started with BL2 and its definitely my favourite I think that The Claptastic voyage DLC within the Pre sequel is in my opinion tied for best sequel (alongside tiny Tina AODK) if not even #1 and reason enough to give BL PS a try + it gives us one of the most odd but unique weapons with the glitched weapons

My friends and I really didn't like Wonderlands at all. Even on Hard Mode the game was trivially easy. Most bosses took less than 20 seconds. The map design was also notably bad. It felt like fight room after fight room after fight room, with very little thought put into any downtime between them.

Just mute the audio and the game is good, my only problem really with it is that because you get legendaries so often you practically never use anything else and gray and green weapons are never even close to necessary, which makes the game way too easy

I started BL3 about a week ago and have been having a blast with it. I've only ever played BL2, Pre-Sequel, and now BL3. Played the hell out of BL2 on Mac back in the day, and then played the hell out of it again on Nintendo Switch. BL3 on PS5 now, but yes, BL2 is the best.

Well i can see how it is bland after later games since it doesn't have as many skills but im not a fan of BL3 because of cringe it is. I don't really like the pre sequel because i didn't like the setting and characters as much. I also loved that in BL1 the enemies could carry really cool random weapons that they drop when killed.
I never played the Tiny Tina game and it does look pretty good so I need to give it a shot.

When we're talking story then both aren't great. Borderlands 1 doesn't really have much, and what it has isn't good, but I guess 3 is worse because since 1 doesn't really focus on it's story the quality doesn't matter as much while 3 focuses a lot on it's bad story.
So in conclusion: When looking at gameplay 3 is leagues better than 1, when we're talking story then yes, 1 is better but not by much.
Borderlands 1 by far has the best atmosphere of any of the Borderlands games. It's the most "realistic", and not over the top with the tone, comedy, power scaling. It's my favorite guilty pleasure comfort game. Just walking around a bleak desert planet killing bandit kings.
I think I bought it on release bc of all the "Million guns" marketing on tv. This game def had hype on release.
Also Pre Sequel is awful. Easily the worst main game.

Idk, to me, what I got from the game world being kind of empty, hearing the same song loop (I can still hear it) and B1 barely having a story was that it was undercooked moreso than having a good atmosphere. The atmosphere that is there reminds me of what's wrong with the game.
I get where you're coming from but I think Borderlands 1 is like that because it was the minimum viable product and Borderlands 2 was what they were ultimately trying to achieve.
Excellent main quest line, well paced, missions and variety that blew B1 away, a compelling villain. S-tier game. And unlike the other first person ones, I did sometimes laugh at the jokes. haha

I personally disagree with you on Pre-sequel, because it's my favourite BL game (after Tales).
Sure it didn't reinvent the series or anything like that, but all the new things introduced I strongly enjoyed.
Low gravity - for me it's fun to jump all around
Oz kits/Jet pack - while I think Relics are more fun, because of all the diversity, I think OZ's were more interesting in concept(like having better damege, accuracy, speed depending on oxygen, so if there were slightly more types of them, I would enjoy them more)
And slammig, double jumping, hovering is fun. It made the movement more enjoyable.
Grinder - being able to craft weapons and other items, was a great addition. Would love if the improved upon it in BL3
Cryo - like i really hope everyone agrees it's more fun then slag
And Glitch weapon rarity is the most interesting rarity in series. It's sad that also didn't made it into BL3
And then there are the Vault hunters, which are personally my favourites in series.
So if it wasn't for the almost non existing endgame, it would be basically the perfect Borderlands game for me.

I loved new tales of the borderlands, ik thats weird and a unique opinion but i honestly really enjoyed it
I would like to give some appreciation to Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. I have more than 1k hours in bl2, 100 in bl1 and almost 300 in the pre sequel. I can confirm it has some of the weakest side quests, but there are some key points that make the game better than what most people think:
The characters feel so unique to me. Athena and Nisha are the characters that i played the least, but the touch on wilhelm changing his aspect as you progress on his modifications is amazing, claptrap is so bad yet sooooo funny to play with, and the dlc characters, aurelia is kinda meh (though is a freezing beast and to me, freezing is the most op thing in this game), and Timothy (jack's double) it's one of the most unique and op characters in all the franchise. Also, would like to mention Aurelia has a really unique skill tree focused on coop, but i only played this game alone.
NPC's have special dialogues depending on the character, which leads to more jokes and it is a really nice touch.
The DLC, omg, the claptastic's voyage might be the best DLC in the whole franchise with dragon's keep DLC. The concept and the gameplay is a nostalgia slap to the fans.
I feel this game has the problem of being released after Bordelands 2, since most people, as Jonathan said, think it's a worse version of bl2 and leave the game. Everyone should give some love to this game since the more you play it the better it feels.
About the end of last year, I played it and thought it was on level with bl2. I dont know why people hated it so much. If only they didn't, we could have had even more dlcs, but 2K Australia actually shut down after they stopped touching the game, so I sadly think they can't really come back to it like bl2 with the fight for sanctuary dlc, because the studio is gone so I don't think they can actually do anything with the game. (I might be wrong, though.)

@@lainetainton8661 because it's not a good bl game. It has no real end game except the raid boss, farming was none existent till they added some loot pools but it wasn't enough. It was a rush job and clearly so. If you make farming and end game completely boring you loose the majority of fans. Wonderlands people say is a good game but they hated end game.
@lilpain1997 I guess it depends on what gear you wish to farm for. I really like the sniper that Swagman drops as well as the ease of bonus package from the Torks. You can usually get those items quite quickly from one to another. I would have liked to have seen more legendaries added to the loot pool from Iwajira however, as the Thingy sucks and is only vending fodder. I can see why people say it sucks but I found the balancing to be better in TPS, and I also quite liked Holodome, especially the badass round.
As a Borderlands lover...for over a decade...and a constant Borderlands YT streamer...I could not, like literally, could not find EVEN ONE, thing that I did not agree with in this video...In my opinion, BL2 is THE best game, and my single most favorite game of ALL TIME!!! I really didnt like borderlands the first time i played it. I played borderlands 1 a long time ago, split screen with someone, and just could not get into it
About a week ago though, my husband and i decided to try borderlands 2 together -- i am in LOVE with this series, 1 through 3, obsessed. We beat borderlands 2, are in the middle of the pre sequal, and when 3 wants to work (lag) its so satifying, and i love the characters!

Is it really though? Even when it came out, the first 6 or so hours were rough. And once it does get going, it's still not as fun as the others. The writing that's there isn't annoying like Borderlands 3 but that's about it.
It was the first one so people have an attachment to it but if you were to just ask a new player to play them, #6 probably isn't an unfair ranking.

New games actually have to do more things better to be considered better. B1's problem isn't just that it's old, it's that it was the minimum viable product whereas B2 was where everything truly came together and was fully realised. So over a decade later it's still holding the line.
Poor pacing in the first half was a huge problem with Borderlands 1 in 2009.
the first six hours is like the best part most people have an issue with the second half of the game which is slow and a little tedious but still better than tps 3 and wonderlands no question

I had a pretty similar reaction to B3 - like it made me question if the series was for me anymore. Tho I'm surprised you didn't mention that you meet Penn & Teller and Tommy Wiseau in side-missions. Tho that's also a criticism: the best stuff is buried is side quests - including the Handsome Jack stuff!
Good ranking man i am new to borderlands and have started with the pre sequel in 2024 ..should probably have started with 2 but didnt know ..personally i have loved tps and im looking forward to 2 & 3 ..i think in total i paid £12 for the handsome collection (pre sequel & 2 and a lot of their dlc) and the borderlands 3 discs all on ps4. Pretty amazing deal for the amount of content really lol. TPS looks and runs really nice on my ps4 too though it does make the console LOUD at times when there are loads of explosions and lasers and digital worlds on screen.
I'm not trying to come at you, but not playing the bl1 dlc and making this video just discredits you imho. That combined with ranking the pre-sequel over bl1 is not exactly something that I think I could be persuaded to agree with, nostalgia aside. On another note, bl1 had an insane amount of hype. Anyone who liked games was hyped about the first game ever to be advertised as having over one million different pew-pews in it. Later we realized it was just an FPS Diablo-style loot system, but in a good way. I remember getting the Gameinformer with the original (realistic) borderlands artwork on the cover with the buggy and the bandits on it so you knew the multi-page article in the middle was going to be about Borderlands. They also had Cage the Elephant's "Ain't no Rest for the Wicked" for their gameplay trailer which drew a lot of attention at the time. I also disagree with some other rankings but I get that's mostly subjective unless we have some kind of ranking standard to go by.

5. Pre sequel: I could rank it higher but i never finished it so I can't properly rank it.
4. Borderlands 3: combat and gameplay are the best with very fun feeling weapons and sound design but the story is the worst ive played in any video game and the endgame content is very messy even compared to bl2.
3. Borderlands 1: Don't have much to really say about it but I had enough fun playing it and had fun with the knox dlc.
2. Original Tales: This is where the humor and story of the series peaked, yeah it is telltale gameplay but it's the only game in the series where I was fully invested in the story, the loaderbot plot twist on the last chapter actually got me and it was hype.
1. Borderlands 2: Good story and gameplay, the endgame content is what makes it though, thanks to joltz showing everyone how fun runs can be i've done so many runs just getting to level 80 and going after the fun raid bosses (except for dexiduous that one is hot garbage)

@resolvedwall the guy clearly never got end game in 2 if he thinks it's the best one. Nostalgia is one hell of a drug. Bl2 end game literally is extremely limited... build variety is none existent nor is weapon variety. 2 has a great story and side content, but its end game isn't great. He said lvl80, so it's clear he never went full end game... as it would be lvl80 op10. You people literally brush all of bl2s issues under a really large rug all the time. I have thousands of hours in it and love, it's end game is weak. And no skipping op levels doesn't magically solve its poor balancing issues, it just further proves the point of how bad end game is. Op levels with broken health values don't help either.
@lilpain1997 @lilpain1997 I did say level 80 for a reason because OP levels are way too broken and I don't like them. I do glaze it because I love the game to death but also keep in mind it is my opinion and I had mounds of fun with the game so I'm just stating what I think.
@RexyTheMagicalDinaur I already said that skipping op levels proves my point that's its end game is not all that good. The raid bosses are completely fucked and have broken values, skipping it further proves just how much people throw everything under a rug for it. Stop letting nostalgia get in the way. Bl3 has an awful story, but its end game is actually better than 2s as you can use a lot of weapons, and there's more than just one build per character. You can state what you think but it's just pure nostalgia.
What would be the best platform in console wise with loading screens graphics etc for the complete borderlands series i might give this series a shot
I've only ever played and completed BL 1, 2 and Pre Sql and maybe it's because I haven't tried the latest ones, but Pre Sql had my favorite gameplay of the three as I found alot of freedom in movement with the low gravity mechanic. Sure, the characters were alright, the story was okay, and the environment was decent, but man I loved the movement

Having bl1 worse than the presequal is wild to me. I've tried to get into the presequal a few times and its just lame. I think if you played the dlc for bl1 you'd rank them differently.
The teaser trailer they had for Borderlands 3 was so amazing. It looked like they were going to make a more serious game and story.
And all the characters looked badass and gritty in that trailer.
Then the actual Game drops, and EVERYONE is obnoxious, empty, ugly, screaming, not funny, forced to either be heroes or to be just ridiculous villains with annoying voices, like there's zero in between, there's ZERO interesting nuanced characters or anything, they're all just annoying, self righteous pricks ALL of them.
Really wish they had matured the series instead and actually let the villains be serious for Borderlands 3.
You can still have plenty of jokes, humor, slapstick etc. But they really could have just let the villains BE badass and not a total JOKE as well 🤦🏻♂

Looking back at the pre sequel... It's story is actually amazing, it fits perfectly inbetween 1&2 but bl3 has nothing going for it except for gameplay feeling much more smooth.

3: tales of the borderlands. Story was great, characters were charming and memorable
4: TTWL. I thought the fantasy setting was cool. I’m a fan of Tina’s character and I thought Andy did a good job at the voice acting.
5: borderlands (1) the world design was good. The guns felt powerful and it started it all
6: the pre sequel. I’m not a big fan of the game but I do see where people can like it. World design is decent, gameplay is basically the same as bl2 but low gravity and there is laser guns.
7: new tales. Haven’t played this one but from the clips I’ve seen it looks like bl3 but without the fun gameplay.
What do you think? Should I never have an opinion again? Was I correct on some thing? What would you change?

FACTS. bl 1 had an apocalyptic planetary life with mystery and the potential in it. The writing was much better and the humor was MUCH LESS cringe. Sure the gameplay was mediocre and the loot was the same. THEY ALL FELT DIFFERENT as opposed to BL2 where everything looked different but felt the same. Pre sequel was arguably more fun than 2.

Wonderlands over 3 is crazy to me even tho I think WL gets way too much hate. The DLC actually ruined it for me, which in the series history, the DLCs are almsot always the best part. 1, 2, and 3 have amazing DLC's.
I think you diss too much on the presequel....the story was solid, the gameplay was solid, the characters were awesome to use at least claptrap and jack's doppelganger.....it was a very good game, all you mention are cons
I love the Borderlands games. Been playing them since #1 came out. But I still go back to 1 every once in a while, bc, while it has its flaws, I dig the slightly more serious tone. Especially at times, like when you go to Sledges Safehouse for the first time. It nails the eerie, dangerous vibe.
B2 is def #1.
Now if they would only add a hardcore mode.
Wonderlands is the only one that punishes you for dying (sometimes), so it's the only one I go back to. I think if Borderlands 2 was just a little bit more punishing, it would be one of my all time favourite games.

As someone who really likes BL2 the loot system is absolute trash. There is nothing rewarding or fun about killing the same boss 20-30 times for 1 legendary drop because everything has a 10% drop chance, drops aren't calculated independently, and some bosses drop other legendaries and or skins/heads which means some legendaries effectively have a 5% or 3% drop chance even on the highest difficulties. Also, when you finally do get your drop it can be 1 or 2 levels below your level meaning it's basically useless at high levels because of how enemies scale and you have to farm the boss all over again. That being said all of these loot problems can be fixed with mods but I thought it was worth mentioning that even though BL2 is the best fps Borderlands game it still has its faults. Also, the slag system is kinda shit.
I've just started with Borderlands 1. I like the gameplay-loop but it's in fact a little boring. But it's like Diablo; you play and play and loot and loot and forget time. Good to know it gets even better. Played Tales a long time before just because I love Telltales but didn't understand that much about the lore. Will play through the complete franchise now I know there's plenty to discover.

Honestly Borderlands 1 will probably always be my favorite. Something about it just hits a certain way, and everything since then has moved away from the kind of gaming experience I enjoyed. I remember playing Borderlands 2 for the first time and just instantly being disappointed at how much less fun the gameplay felt. In the years since the game has grown on me but even so, gameplay wise it just isnt as fun.

Let's be honest here bro BL1 is my favorite in the franchise and if it wasn't successful there wouldn't be a Borderlands franchise to begin with because if it had failed and sold little to no copies they'll be no precious BL2 and beyond, also the Dlc's of BL1 made the overall full game experience way better in my opinion but it's your video and I respect your opinion.
I love BL3 purely because of how the combat just feels so damn good. I don't give a shit about the story, but to be honest, I'm not playing BL2 for the story either. The gameplay, mechanics, and build variety is my first priority, and for that I love BL3.

I was shocked that Tales From The Borderlands was in your top two, and then I had to think about it. Story and character wise, none of the other games are beating it. I remember playing the demo for it and I immediately bought the season pass after the first 5 minutes 😂. It’s in my top two as well, but but I’d put Borderlands a three because I’m biased towards that game.
Good discussion on each. I have essentially the same placements. I think the one thing Gearbox has been consistently really good on is their dlc’s. If I include those, I think I have a little more praise for BL3 as the full content package had some of my favorite areas, weapons, and story threads. I agree with your point on the size and level design of the open maps portions, but I do think BL3 and wonderlands kinda stand alone on that front. BL2’s story missions are pretty heavy enter generic square room -> go to hallway -> enter rectangular area etc whereas the verticality in the story mission areas for BL3 and on have been significant improvements
I remember when BL3 came out, you couldn't skip cutscenes nor adjust dialogue volume, actual torture...
TPS characters have better skills than bl2. (This is not saying that bl2's is bad, just that tps's feel really good). Like Timothy's, one of his capstone's applies an effect to his current weapon based on the manufacturer of the one you swapped off of. This means a elemental jakobs, or a dual element maliwan is possible and eat to get.
Additionally, in another tree, he can get second winds off of his doppelgangers' death. This can trigger off of moving far enough away from them that they despawn.
The thing that makes TPS this low is there's almost no dedicated drop locations for any legendary item in the entire game.
This is bad because basically your build is now up to random chance, if you want to use legendaries.
I enjoyed tps I think people are slightly too harsh on the game because it came straight after the best game of the series, it was kinda destined to fail as it was unlikely it would be as good as 2

bl2's good weapon spread is actually pretty equal. In fact, some of the most powerful are vanilla weapons, like the unkempt herald and the fastball. The sham and bee shield are also vanilla, and so is the lyudima.
Completed bl1, bl2, bl:tps, bl3 and Wonderlands, and that's my top: 1) BL2. Simply best game of the series. It has better story than every other game, better rpg system, better lategame (in a miles), better characters and DLC's. Simply Goat of series. 2) Wonderlands. And here's some sort of hot take. It has kinda trashy story, but it has such a beautiful areas and visuals. There's couple of quests which can be named the best in the series (in terms of fun and chaos). But it lacks of lategame (like every other game, except BL2). 3) BL:TPS. Another hot take, probably. But it has good and linear story, and Jack's storyline is kinda the best in the series. But it lacks of interesting areas, and extremely lacks of lategame (technically, there's no lategame). 4) BL1. Simply outdated game, tbh. It might be good back in 2009, but not anymore. It has pretty good DlC's, but that's it. 5) BL3. Completely trash Story. Completely trash characters. Trash lategame. Bad locations. But good visuals, and thank goodness good legendary drop rate, it's legitimately the only reason i kept playing it, it has kinda interesting weapons.
The story of BL3 was meh, nothing special, but the gameplay itself (gunplay and combat) and all the sidequests were pretty good IMO. Although I didn't like how you'd get completely OP weapons quite often so you'd never even take a look at grey/green/blue weapons really. Had a legendary flamethrower pistol, which I got at I believe level 17, which I still used at level 35ish because it was absurdly OP. But I really love the post-story aspect of the game, playing it in Mayhem Mode and/or the true vaulthunter mode is a lot of fun. Also the humor is good (mostly), although the characters weren't that well written (Amara's voicelines were pretty cringe). Krieg was good tho.

Good list man, I’d personally put Borderlands 1 higher, a lot of it is nostalgia, but Borderlands 1 just has a unique vibe to it, and the DLC’s were fantastic, I have very fond memories of my brother and I playing the zombie DLC. Crazy to think that was 15 years ago now, holy shit lol. Claptrap.
While I do like how they switched things up on Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands and made vast improvements in the writing and world navigation/game design, the dlc, lack of impact from the guns and loot, and post game have kneecapped Wonderlands in a brutal way. The depth that most of the guns have in wonderlands is not as varied as 3 except that it’s more dnd inspired. While that’s cool and everything, the emphasis on this guns never contribute to the experimentation of your character. Which I feel like there isn’t enough to make your character badass or make the journey/quests/enemy engagement as rewarding/satisfying. This game needed better content and dlc to keep me engaged. I understand BL3 base game is flawed in a lot of ways. But the dlc (Bounty of Blood, Guns Love and Tentacles, The Raids, Cartel Event, the circle of slaughter, etc.) and true vault hunter mode brought it back to where I spent many hours collecting better wacky loot to make my character even more insane than base game. Nothing was holding it back. Unfortunately, the devs screwed up the post game content for wonderlands by adding timed dlc events. And the rewards were pretty bad. Making the gameplay loop of wonderlands feel nonexistent. Don’t get me wrong, base game wonderlands is fun. But just like Diablo, Monster Hunter world, and Destiny 2, you have to provide some good endgame activities and content to add more to Wonderlands longevity. Sadly, it was short lived and the devs messed it up big time. Which hurts the progression and fun of Wonderlands. Thats why you don’t hear the community talk much about this game except that is was good when it launched.
Base game Wonderlands is better than Borderlands 3. But post game Wonderlands is pretty bad. Overall, meh.

B1 and b2 are connected that’s how 25:07 handsome jack become the villain she (angel) is handsome jack daughter she got the first vault hunter to open the vault so jack could use that power but she never wanted that so in b2 she sacrificed herself to save them but jack still opens the vault then that’s how they find out there more out there just like this bc the second pair of vault hunters were guided by the first vault hunters an jack face is messed up cause by litith powers I believe in b1

Borderlands 3 is the best easily. The dialogue is cringy but if you plan to play it for any decent amount of time, the INFINITELY better gameplay will easily make it the most enjoyable.
It could be nostalgic but BL1 is 2nd right behind BL2 at 1st and 2nd place. It’s got a perfect amount of loot, side quest, characters. The worst part of BL1 is the world feels a little empty but unique guns actually felt unique and you can actually remember what quest/npc you got that gun from. Now a days it’s so many weapons that you’re just overwhelmed. And it’s actually a good challenge going through the game. I hate how games are getting so easy now. But it’s just my opinion

I’m happy I got introduced to Borderlands with 3. The gameplay was fun, and I don’t care about the story.
BL2 was the first, and only, game I've ever played in my entire life that mindfu*ked me. In BL1, probably one of my favorite games of all time, Mordecai was my guy. Still my favorite character in the series. Using Bloodwing was so much fun, watching enemies explode into loot piles and blood. He genuinely felt like my own pet. I loved saying "get 'em blood" or "give 'em hell blood", everytime I used the ability. The moment Jack killed Bloodwing I turned my 360 off and didn't touch the game again for over a year. I was so pissed off, I legit cried (if you have an issue with this then fu*k you. Emotions are normal and healthy) and mourned Bloodwing. It made me hate Jack so much as a person that I myself, wanted to kill him. I've never felt that level of immersion or passion toward a game or character again or before that. BL2 absolutely masterfully made Jack to be the most unlikeable, loathesome, vile, piece of shit human villain of all time. BL2 was a great game overall. It had a massive spike in difficulty over BL1 which was really annoying in solo play, but very fun and engaging in coop. Things I didn't like: shooting enemies in the head didn't make their heads explode anymore. Similarly you couldn't shoot off limbs and there wasn't any showers of blood when killing enemies. They changed the car horn from the hysterical high pitched "meep" my brother and I tormented each other with to just a generic and bland horn that we don't even use. I didn't like that Dahl sniper rifles were always burst fire when zoomed. It made them nearly unusable. The second and third shots almost never hit critically and the sniper had such a limited ammo pool that the burst fire chewed through ammo way too fast. Torgue weapons were basically unusable with their abysmal bullet velocity and Maliwan pistols were useless with their tiny mag caps and using 2 rounds per shot. Jakobs SMGs and Combat Rifles were all single shot for some reason. So while BL2 did exponentially expand on the gun diversity of BL1, a lot of the gun variants were not fun to use because of terrible accuracy, weird functions that made no sense, massive ammo consumption, and slow bullet speed. I did enjoy the addition of Bandit Items. The names were great and they were usually really good functionally. This is where my hot take comes in, the overall story was pretty weak and I found it very difficult to stay invested in it. The story missions were fairly uninteresting and tedious. BL1 was very simple. Find the vault, open it, get rich. Exactly as advertised. I actually really liked the surprise ending of the vault being a multidimensional prison for monsters as a twist. I thought it was super funny and fitting for the overall feel of the game. BL1 was way more satisfying to finish than BL2, storywise. BL2 however blows every single other BL game away in environment and general gameplay. The gun fights are fun, the enemies are great, and the environments were pretty diverse. The exceptions being the caustic caverns(hated that environment completely), the spiderants(I don't know why they change the designs of these or why they made them so much more annoying to fight), and the crystal monsters(take way too long to kill, hit way too hard, and aren't interesting in any way).
Never really played a BL game until this year with BL2, I played 1 for a few hours back in the day but after playing BL 2 man the math just doesn't math and you can tell they didn't know how to math the end game out at all to the point I'm almost 100% sure they only made that short guy so broken just so people could chess end game. It's a fun game I like it but after I beat the main story and the DLC I got I think that's where I'll stop. I'd love to do endgame and learn all the whatever but it just looks like way to much chess for me. Also doesn't help when you look up videos on BL 2 the first few you see talk about how the end game bosses are pretty much god's unless you use a bug or a chess build that's just lazy work on who ever made BL's part.

As someone who is gonna make his kids to play bl1 just like how my dad made me back in 2010 I can respect your placement of the game it's a fantastic setting especially if you read the books that add more to the setting and theme it still can't really hold up gameplay wise but hey as long as it's above shit tales from the borderlands it works for me

The gameplay from the top 3 is immaculate and while Wonderlands is lowish I still love it! I just wish it had as much content in base game like 2 and 3 especially with the 70$ price tag.
wtf everyone saying bl is coop game, from my experience coop always ruins this game by making it literally impossible to play.
Never completed or enjoyed in coop, but in single play I completed and enjoyed it much more than in coop.
AS someone who started with BL2 and its definitely my favourite I think that The Claptastic voyage DLC within the Pre sequel is in my opinion tied for best sequel (alongside tiny Tina AODK) if not even #1 and reason enough to give BL PS a try + it gives us one of the most odd but unique weapons with the glitched weapons
