I can't believe that this was 8 years ago... Sad to think this series will almost certainly never get a true conclusion. Sly Cooper will always have a special place in my heart, and you'd better believe I'd be ecstatic about any future projects or reboots, unlikely as they may be.

One of the things i love most about the Sly Cooper series is how intricate and well put together the main villains schemes are. Also when they explain their origins and motivations, so well done and thought out.

I love the original Cooper gang but I really love how much more they interacted and talked like real friends in Thieves in Time.
I think Sly 2 did it best with Thieves in Time being a close second.

I always liked how they did they animated cutscenes with journal entries it encourages me to keep writing in my own diaries. I’ve had all kinds of diaries since I saw sly cooper personal, travel, stress, you name it. Even fake diaries for these stories I like to write.

That is definitely a possibility. I guess it would depend on whether or not Sly can find him. OR if Sly can find Slytunkhamen before Clockwerk finds HIM. But if Sly does find Slytunkhamen and convince him he is the real deal, he can leave a message in the Thievius Raccoonus telling Bentley and the others where and when he is.

One thing I wish they did was go back in time to Sly's dad's hey day and in an emotional moment Sly has to choose to either Save his dad or Keep his friends almost like in Xenoverse 2
That's what I honestly have been thinking the plot climax should be. Maybe have a double-ending, but the idea of either saving his family from Clockwerk/never meeting his friends, or watching them die to keep time constant and the friends he's met. A very emotional idea.
That was probably the plan for the follow up game that never came to be.

Sly 4 is not as bad as people make it out to be.
I enjoyed the gameplay and the story. Also Thieves in Time has the most interesting settings in the series IMO.
Sly 4 is my second favorite in the series. Really, the only thing I didn't like were the motion controls and the load times.
the reason people make it out as bad because it is the closest sly cooper game to a child's video game and it has a lot of cringe dialog. the cartoon looks good and it looks like they spent a lot of work on animating those scenes but the 3d models look nothing like the cartoon models and they even look more human... which is disgusting looking and carmalita fox really shows that human face... uggggg.
gameplay, map and graphics (ofc) wise, it it the best sly game. story wise its not that good and the penelope plot twist was just a complete 180 on her personality. she became the black baron to bypass the age restriction on those flight competitions and she liked sly a lot before she fell in love with bentley and got her redemption and became a solid member of their team. now they just pulled this twist out of their ass without any foreshadowing and turned her into someone that only cares about money and world domination lol.

Le Paradox's nothing more than an honorless coward who doesn't have the guts to fight any of the Coopers, much less steal anything since he had everyone else do the dirty work for him. I only hope that they do a sequel to this game having the gang including Carmelita locate Sly Cooper, while Cooper himself figures out how to get in touch w/not only the gang but find his Egyptian ancestor

+admiralalex1000 Indeed. I thought that maybe she overheard what Dr. M told Bentley back in Sly 3, and it stayed in the back of her mind until she somehow ran into Le Paradox. And from his own 'suffering' and Bentley's stories of their adventures he most likely told her, she probably truly believed that Sly wasn't a good person and hogged the spotlight for his own greedy reasons as opposed to thinking he probably took the spotlight so Bentley and Murray could never be traced back to him in the event that he get caught. So her betrayal, when you think about it, makes sense when you realize she wanted to give Bentley the life she thought he deserved and living in luxury with his weapon inventions/gadgets as opposed to 'slaving away' in the Cooper Vault without so much as a thank-you from Sly himself.

Kinda obvious that Penelope would b a villain in this game. She was the "Black" Baron in the 3rd game and she's the "Black Knight" in this game. Plus, it would take a genius 2 build the robot wolves and the time machine 4 Le Paradox.

Honestly, even if you didn't put two and two together there, you probably would think something was up when she hadn't been mentioned at all throughout the rest of the game, only for the situation to be mentioned seemingly out of the blue in the intro to that stage.
but it makes no sense. she got her redemption in sly 3 and became a solid and beloved member of the team and she liked sly a lot before she fell in love with bentley. its like they pulled that penelope plot twist out of their ass without any foreshadowing whatsoever and did a 180 on her personality, because fuck logic. its not like kids are going to think very hard about it so they made an oversimplified story that didnt make sense in some ways. the story was poor but the gameplay was the best of all sly cooper games.

Salim doesn't get enough love, he's probably my favourite ancestor. I love them all, but I feel that Rioichi and Tennessee are overrated, but it's expected because who doesn't like ninjas and outlaws? Salim's pretty old, but he is very funny and us older fans can relate to him. :p He's also had the most experience, making him a wise ancestor to look up at.
I liked Salim not because he was fun to play as, but because he had the most character out of all the ancestors. The rest were just copy and paste characters with predictable personalities...

Bandicoot salim is hilarious. I love the moment when Bentley says he knows the city like the back of his hand, so of course salim starts looking at the back of his hand
I have to admit, Rioichi and Tennessee weren't all that interesting to me, while I found Bob and Salim a bit more amusing. I guess it is a bit of a bias since Bob had that whole training montage reminiscing Rocky, while Salim was an arabic cranky old man.

I still have my PS2 and it still works okay so i might not havevsly cooper or rayman but i sure had tons of fun with jak 3,jak x (i know it's a racing game but it's still fun)and ratchet and clank 3 and i still have them and don't be upset they do have few of these games for play station 3 and playstation 4 i hope

the funny thing about the first few cutscenes, they call the 'sword' a 'dagger', when the 'dagger' itself is called a wakizashi, or in simpler terms, A Japanese Short Sword
Sly 4, while it had it's fair share of problems, wasn't really that bad of a game. I did enjoy it for what it was. My only real gripe with the story, was the Penelope plot twist they had. It felt SO out of place and unnecessary. They could've handled that so much better, or at the very least, have a better reason why she betrayed the gang. Especially after everything Penelope had been through with Sly and Co in the last game.

Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time's latest sale figures are: *0.31m* (tiny compared too shooters/racer/sports games), but considering that Sanzaru Games is a tiny company (consisting of only *60 Employees*!), this may just well be a massive success for them.
0.31m sold, assuming, say... each employee gets paid $50,000, and they make $20 of each game they make (this is the minimum I bet the devs get from selling a game, though I'm sure they should be getting more), and $1mil spent on R&D, and then another $1mil on anything else that I may have missed (insurance/extras etc)
They'll have still made $1.2 million profit even then! Which guarantees that they should be on a new project, and not have shut down (we should know if they've shut down anyway, because that'll be all over the gaming media).
So they *must* be on another project, whether that's Sly 5? Who knows.
But this time, they better step up their advertising campaign, cos' I know Sly 4 would've been a *SMASH HIT* had Sony bothered marketing Sly 4 properly.

lightyearpig12 Yeah, I've seen that, they were talking in terms of approval, by thinking they did a good job with making the game, and it did get great ratings. But this is a weird industry, good ratings doesn't always mean commercial success. Though I think the game should've done fine, there's always that risk thay they didn't.

The thing about Penelope at first she LOVE sly
The twist with Penelope is actually a very good and believable twist because in Sly 3 she's an enemy first and she saw how Dr. M was treated by Sly's father and how Sly could easily do the same and never wanted that to happen to Bentley
She didn't say anything about D. M or about Sly mistreating Bentley. Her speech was about money and Bentley not "reaching his potential."
