My man, I love this card. You have no idea how many times I've won on second main without realizing I had infinite mana the whole turn. Ok, it was 2 times, but I was distracted drawing cards both times.
If there's one thing I know about Brian, it's that his opponents literally always have Bowmasters in hand and even when they show they clearly don't, they still do in his mind.
i have similiar deck but i run force of will, retrofiter foundry can win some games infinite tokens. 4x emry, 4xgadgeteer, 2x kappa, , 4xthoughtcast, 4x fow, 1x lorien reveal blue count. no keys, rings, forge, staff, run package shadowspear, retrofitter, bomb main, sideboard. 2x hydroblast and 2xforce of negation for meltdown matchups, regards love your content.
28:00 Yeah, that's what I was about to say, LED is usually Echo of Eons and haven't seen a painter list with any in a very long time. Granted, I'm not super into painter but still. I expected blue for sure as well.
i think you could play darkwater egg in this deck. with the gadgeteer, it cycles for free, or even nets you a mana if you wait a turn. it also synergizes with the thoughtcast and Emry affinity shenanigans (sacrifice it while casing them). it could almost take lotus petal's slot
Just from initially looking at it, may want a mesmeric orb in the board. With a monolith in play along with an emery or forge it is a diy demonic or vamp tutor
it could be because you just happened to deal with a lot of red, but between the decks you dealt with and the other various red decks out there, i feel like hydroblast would have had agency in the side. however, im not sure what should go in their place. though, i do love whenever you play these big artifacty decks - i thought 8cast was fun when you played it recently
I heard your Staff = fun sentiment, but I'm still kind of surprised you went for Staff and not something that could be found off of Saga; looking at Retrofitter Foundry especially. Foundry also just seems like the better fair card?
At the end of the burn match you mentioned how burn is no longer viable even as a budget option. What is the deck you would recommend in today's legacy for someone that wanted to start trying legacy with no duals and minimal reserve list?
Why Staff of Domination over Retrofitter Foundry? RF can be grabbed w saga and also acts as an outlet for the combo. Is it just because it doesn't win the turn it comes down?
I may have missed something here but at the end of round 3 game 1, could you not have played out the otawara, cast monolith into one ring to buy you a turn and then had 4 draws to find both a 5th mana and something to do with infinite mana?
I think when the scam player round 3 made the attack that signaled second bowmaster they actually just had the one bowmaster and where going to use their animate dead on it if you blocked it
Thought Monitor > Thoughtcast because you can play it off the top with Mystic Forge? Or do you think your artifact count will often make the lower cost on Thoughtcast matter?
Those Flusterstorms should have been Offer An You Cant Refuse. No reason for that card to only be played in cEDH. Particularly, in this deck your whole point is that you will have more mana than the opponent, so stop being afraid of giving them a petal.
In addition to the above, your primary game plan is to stick Karn, which turns off artifacts (the petals you just gave to the opponent). At no point were you saying, “I hope my opponent doesn’t play Ancient Tomb.” So why fear giving them the petals when the only way you lose is if the Dress Down or Meltdown resolves? Just make it not resolve. They can have a million mana.
There are pros and cons to each, it is not clear that it "should have been" Offer, as there's several spots where Fluster is much better than Offer would be (such as protecting your own cards from countermagic, and against opposing combo decks like Doomsday or Sneak). Also, relying on your 4 mana planeswalker to disable the drawback of Offer is not a sound or reliable strategy, especially if you're forced to use Offer on the first turn or two and then you've ramped your opponent into a win or insurmountable advantage before you can untap and try to Karn.
@@Dracomandriuthus people say that. But on a channel that tries all sorts of things, I'd expect to see some videos experimentally validating that in Legacy. Yet no Bosh videos have even tried the Offer.
bosh pack smoke em if you got em i played bant beans at fnm last night for the first time ever and went 3-1 thank you bosh packers
Bosh pack smokin’ beans
"I play Ancient Tomb and cast Null Rod. Pass." lol

We always talk about painter making things colors being cool, but blue Karn looks so god damn good

Excited to watch the league! I’ve been working on Gadgeteer deck lists since it was teased. Hopefully this video helps me iron out some of my issues !

Everyday Boshnroll uploads a video is a good day
I can see the SB is pretty tight, but I'd want a Forge in the Karn board for sure, and a tutorable One Ring seems like a no brainer.
God Round 3 Game...2? had me on the edge of my seat. Good good game
I'm surprised Urza didn't find a home in this deck.
Not without Yorion

There was nothing going on in my head except excitement that maybe Staff could be used in legacy again.
At the end of the burn match you mentioned how burn is no longer viable even as a budget option. What is the deck you would recommend in today's legacy for someone that wanted to start trying legacy with no duals and minimal reserve list?
Something in the 8-cast family.

I came looking for this comment. He definitely did, though he was ringing to exactly spellbomb if he plays Otawara
Opponent had force + blue card. Otawara was the only out.

Thought Monitor > Thoughtcast because you can play it off the top with Mystic Forge? Or do you think your artifact count will often make the lower cost on Thoughtcast matter?
I think the early velocity is more important than late game synergy.
at 33:52 why not play the ottowara and cast the one ring to buy another turn> did I miss you making a land drop?
They revealed Force and a blue card from Atraxa
If one card had to be banned out of legacy, what would yalls choice be? Mine would be Grief.
We just did a whole Eternal Glory podcast episode about this. It’s live now!
Why Thoughtcast over Thought Monitor?
Because 4 is less than 6 when we’re using the card for early velocity to find combo pieces

Offer is just WAY too risky in a format where mana edges are as lean as they are.
