Well, I certainly wasn't expected this! We have a brand new feature, the "Mini Challenges". This definitely looks similar to the Historical Questlines we had back in the day, but without any new rewards. These quests seem to be more focused on providing stuff to do for some extra rewards, but without feeling like a requirement you have to do. So, personally I quite like it. I don't think I'll take part often, but it's a nice additional feature for those who want to take part :)

The "recruit x units" quest now is easier than ever, if you have any of those unit chest items in inventory. Simply open one of those and you're all set, and best of all, they always give you current age units. Most people should have a LOT of those saved up at this point from the past couple of events.
Yes bro !! I got already 20+ of this in Hallo event. Even the Special age kit gives 2 current units

@@Zektor101 Because my army already stands stronger than what I can use during GE and GBG. So why open the box if I don't need the content? If you open it for a quest, there is at least some benefit...

this is nice for people who does not have a guild that opens GE 5 or not in a guild. they get the chance to get this building. which is nice.
You need to be in a guild to be able to participate in GE (which many of quests require).
if u your guild doesn't open GE5 it's time to move in another guild, or start your own guild
True. I won't be able to complete it because I don't have enough GE available. So, tip to others, DO NOT do any GE until it tells you to.
The extra mini challenge questlines are going to be difficult to find time for if you have multiple worlds, especially in the later ages, and especially if they occur during the middle of another event. A lot of us are finding the regular events are too much already (too many, with breaks that are too short in between). So, it's a nice extra for people who have a lot of time, but uptake overall may be modest.
Definitely agree, as I'm already struggling to keep up with events in my 4 worlds. That said, I do sort of like that people can now get the Forgotten Temple without having to do GE 5. It's such a powerful little building, and I like that it'll be a bit more accessible.
Actually the mini challenge is the equivalent of many weeks of ge5 in 2 days.
I expect INNO to create a few version liked to different features this to GE but other might be gbg or raids. Notice that this allow very active players to get the GE5 rewards even if their guild doesn't open ge5 every week or ever.
Some of the tasks do not seems to change depending on your era:
- production times are constant*
- number of ge encounters to complete
- number of battles
* at least between IA and CA!
Number of good to donate does change with era.
The troops is the easiest one if you have 3x3 with road. Just build spearmen barrack and create destroy spearmen. Only the last task is troop from a specific era!
Important according to many ge encounter tasks autocomplete if you completed ge4! So the last few will autocomplete in any case.
This was released while gbg was in pause. I think this was intentional to make the fight tasks without losing challenging. With gbg active those would be very quick and easy.
They might do the opposite if a gbg mini task version is released starting while ge is paused.
I think I would prefer if the overall time limit was the week and a half we typically get between events these days. In event quest lines it usually takes me around a week to catch up to the daily quests, and this seems pretty similar (just without the 'dailies')

I want to ask you if you could make a video about something most FOE players have probably not thought about in a long time or didn't need to consider it as a relevant/strategic factor: Happiness! It seems as if Inno wants to make this a factor given that many of the new small buildings deduct lots of(!) happiness or only provide population but no additional happiness. What are your thoughts on this? Thank you in advance!

I have a feeling it will happen every 2nd week when ge is open but gbg locked

When you complete the quest you will have collected enough Frags to complete a Forgotten Temple. Pretty good for a few hours or even 2 days work

Hello Moo...nice work on video...take good time on holidays...for me are limited buildings only the "eating space" on city i dont like format of this buildings and i have zero in my city....so when are not to the future change the rewards its for me waste of time...sorry inno...but why is on rewards i dont now maybe goods to the guild treasury? That will be helpfull no?
If you are not in a guild this is probably brilliant for you. It will also appeal to newer players or those still in the lower ages. For "those of us" who have been playing for a long time (I speak only for myself) this seems to be a waste of time and effort. A ton of mindless time consuming tasks for worthless rewards. The only thing worth doing GE for is the Forgotten Temple, and honestly, even that is no longer a game changer. My combat percentages are now high enough that the FT makes little or no difference.
I dont get it tbh. Just a way of Inno wanting you to finish GE in 2days whats the point

Have you just started playing? Certain features won't be available until you research certain techs.
@@MooingCatFoE I've been playing for about two years and I'm in the postmodern era. I only miss that menu in the lower right corner. And with some, it creeps vertically from the right side. I would like to plan the city through the foe tool, but I don't have that option. I know it's in that menu
@@valjevac78 oh, are you talking about the foe helper menu? That's a browser extension, you'll find it with a quick search

Tip: DO NOT do ANY GE until it tells you to do them. I did a couple extra, not knowing what all the quests were, and now I don't have enough GE spots available to finish. Bummer.
If you complete GE4, it autocompletes all Expedition related quests

I was looking forward to this but it feels like another money grab, I couldn't get a quarter of the way without spending diamonds.
Crappy challenges for crappy rewards, nobody needs this. Maybe players that start the game, but with the new overpowered buildings, who needs a Ritual Flame or a Divine Sky Watch? I instantly scrap that crap and sell it in the Antiques Dealer. Delete 4 units for 2 attempts, what? Not worth it.
Don't think I'll waste my time for the same crappy rewards. If it was diamonds then I'd be interested but we all know that's not going to happen. More diamond costs in game and less in rewards means the game is only enjoyable if you spend real cash and you have to pay £30 a month minimum to get the best buildings. How soon will we see a £50 tier of prizes? Won't be long I bet.Time for me to find another game because this one's gone to shit!

How boring, nothing new, same old same old quests, same old same old GE rewards that no one wants, no real incentive to bother with it, just a tedious waste of time.
Except when you complete the quest you will have gotten enough frags to get a Forgotten Temple. That's a pretty good reward for a few hours work.
@@rogertibbetts5440 I get a FT every 4 weeks from GE5, and it lasts 4 weeks, so why would I want a second one that I don't even have space to plant? I suppose for people who cannot complete GE5, it has some value, but spending those resources on getting yourself able to complete GE5 seems like it has more.

Overall VERY DISSATISFIED AND it's very ANNOYING. The rewards are great but the "production " quests officially got old like 1000 lifetimes ago. So inno needs to scrap their"wives" quest and find something else to fall in love with and replace the production quests.
