If you’ve ever wondered whether wrapping your fleet of vehicles is worth the cost, this episode is a must-listen. We’re suuuper lucky to have the “G.O.A.T.” of vehicle wraps, Dan Antonelli, on the show today.
His agency KickCharge Creative has built brands for some of the biggest home service companies in North America: A1 Garage, Goettl Air Conditioning, and Absolute Airflow, just to name a few.
Today’s conversation is about outdoor advertising in general but, more specifically, the 5 rules that all contractors and home service business owners need to follow when designing a vehicle wrap that pops and drives results. We also talk about his new book Branded, Not Blanded. It’s the best book I’ve ever read on branding for our niche. We’ll link it in the description.
    00:00 - Intro
01:45 - Dan's story: Sign painter to home service brand genius
05:04 - The case FOR wrapping your vehicle
11:45 - Why do most vehicle wraps suck?
    20:02 - Vehicle Wrap Fundamentals
    20:23 - 1. Start with a great brand
    29:22 - 2. Don't Use Photos
    31:36 - 3. Limit your advertising copy
37:07- 4. Design to STAND OUT, not fit in
40:40 - 5. Simple, legible, and obvious are good
    45:34 - Complacency is everywhere

Excellent presentation. Most of the large companies appear not to wrap their vehicles. I buy a rare midsize pickup in bright red for my fleet vehicles. Why would I want to wrap that up? This gave me a lot to think about.

Large companies have money to market themselves other ways, small businesses should do everything to standing out and the beauty of it is that only few smart owners do not follow the pack of white vans with logo slapped on the side, instead they invest into full well designed wrap. This fact helps them to really shine.

We have been in business for over 2o years. I'm curious would it be smart to rebrand at this stage?

If your name is well known maybe don't change the name. But you can still re brand with the old name if you think its worth it. Read Dan's book Branded not Blanded for more insights.

Why do you have so many videos and so little views? I feel as if maybe UA-cam has shadow banned you or something. Seems very strange and concerning that they haven’t rewarded your hard work
