What’s with the Arrma hate? Look, for 220 this thing looks alright, but ZD Racing is not a company that competes with Arrma - enough with the bashing them. The Kraton 8s is a monster - acting like its folds and breaks is nonsense. I’ll trust Talbot on this.
I’m not even a big Arrma guy, I like Losi and Team Associated, but good Lord enough with the hate... they can both be good for their respective prices, man.
hey dude!! I have just ordered up an ARRMA senton 3S, because as you say I am not justified in my ARRMA bashing. and you are right. To make things right and fair I have accepted many people constructive criticism and baught an arrma finally. To be honest with you the entire Arrma bashing was an on going joke for me because the brand does not make any nitros, thats basically how it all started. Thanks for the reply. I’m definitely not saying Arrma is the end all be all of brands, but I had my original Senton 6s V2 start on fire for 90 seconds with a 6s lipo after nose diving into a large double (I was a noob), we then threw it in a koi pond for 5 minutes, took it out and got the lipo out before it caught on fire again. Aside from the body, the only thing that was damaged at all was the esc fan had completely melted. The esc still worked.
After that, I couldn’t say anything bad about their durability! I’ve actually looked at the Senton 3s... the 6s is great, but it’s too heavy and too large a lipo for my local track... and from what I’ve seen it really doesn’t beat the 3s in a race, although it is a little more heavy duty.
I still prefer my Losi 8ight-e and 22-4 to anything else, though!

Couldn't agree with you more. This is the toughest scale and type of RC's you can find.
Raced 1/8 scale for over 30 years (stopped since a couple of years) and in particular the competition buggies are the most durable out there.
Easy to handle, easy to tune and durable (they have to be) out of the box!
By the way, is there a nitro conversion set for that buggy ;-)
Front shocks would probably work better with 35~40 WT oil (they're usually filled with 30 WT).
And a tip for the wheels; plug the holes and make holes into the tyres with a hot 1mm thick needle.
About the bump steer; check if the steering rods are level with the suspension arms. Reducing or getting rid of bump steer can sometimes be a very easy job.

It's just facts that we have a different type of crowd and content. I mostly do nitro and gas, they mostly do quads and electrics. I would not be surprised if someone said Im not an expert in electrics or quads, you know. So hope nobody takes my points too seriously.

@@cwatson42785 right I believe that hybrid isn't negativity affected but I also for myself come from a different generation where bullying was handled differently cause it was different. You step up to the plate and do something about it IF there was bullying happening. If anything I always "helped out" the ones being bullied and just took care of it but yes i know now that people are EASILY OVERLY SENSITIVE concerning whatever it's bullying. I just got this rc V3 Jan 2021, partially due to watching this review. I have spent entire day getting this thing into running condition. All drive shafts were a "press" fit into the drive cups at he dog bones! The wheel driveshafts were the worst. Taking the car apart I had to Use a screwdriver to pry the cups a bit to get them out. My shafts are plated in a bronze/orange colour. I was able to remove the coating by filing and simply rotating the dog bones in the cups. Some of the coating was cut and a very thin sleeve slid off the pins. The black transmission shaft pins were not pressed symmetrically, again i had to correct that. Next are the diffs, the front one was so tight on the pinion/ring gear, I could count each tooth as it fell into another with in a detent fashiona, rear was also too tight. The sides of the differential housings (output coupling holes side) are not parallel, they are caved in (manufacturing/material defect). Due to this there is physical interference between the inner wall of the housing and the differential plastic hub (opposite ring gear). I had to file down the cup a little, use three 13x16 mm shims to get some clearance here as well as get the pinnion/ring gear to mash well. All screws into aluminium were just drenched in thread locker, had to use heat. Same thread locker was apply onto my front plastic C mount by carelessness eating away at the plastic and causing lots of play at the pivot ball. The motor mount is separate from the centre diff carrier, makes for a messy gear lash adjustment, and keeping the gears parallel is a pain. You-tubers are snapping the wheels at the hub to spokes area, I filled these thin spots with baking soda and super glue. Looks like ESC is not programable??? Yes comes with Dumborc radio, which is great. Body came smashed as the receiver was sitting loose on top of the car, two days and no response from Banggood, they closed my order and now it looks like it is mission impossible to get into contact with them. I only got this car ($350 usd delivered, no batt) because I live in Indonesia and Arrma products are x2 or more western prices. Yes it has lots of good looking components, the above issues however makes it a project and deffenetlyf not RTR, yes it ran out of the box but after purchase I did more digging and found vids showing all these issues. So $35 bucks of shims, a new body and a day of work I have a what should have came in the box. I am done with Chinese shit (have 5 now), the quality is not there. With this one, going up in price and seeing nice looking components I gave them one more and last try.

I gotta tell you tho, I've made a couple updated vids on this model and I ran it pretty hard, even got a top speed of 52 MPH and it has not broken or stripped anything. I even raced it with other RC on an oval paved track with a good amount of bashing, and nothing broke. Are you sure you had this same model? because I know there are various models just like this sold by this brand.
@@hybrid32494 Yes sir, pirates3 the never V3 version which should be better than V2. Also lots of these parts are found on the entire model line, so this is a ZD thing. Not making stuff up, I am a mechanical engineer, so I am mechanically inclined. I just did first easy run, 3s only. After my "rebuilt" the buggy runs ok. The rear diff got bit warm, this could be the cup/housing issue even though I shimmed and filed it. Caution, if you buy replacement diff housings, make sure you get the "taller" one. The shorter (which is new) will bind up the front transmission dogbanes due to steep geometry between front and centre diff. Got some moly grease so will try running it this way. Check out Mr. GridStorm if you want to see the issues on vid. Anyways just trying to provide up to date info. I hope this buggy will run well, there are a lot of quality parts and some not so good. It the esc programmable? do you know? Thx
@@pawelwolski1316 I totally appreciate your feedback, thank you! BTW I have since upgraded mine to a different ESC, a 120A unit. Currently I'm running a 4200KV motor and a 19 tooth pinion. To be honest with you, I'm not a 100% electric person, I mostly do nitro and gas RC videos. And I also hate working with diffs, something that is very rare on nitro RCs, you know.
The Raminnator is not very fast but it is pretty cool
hey my dude!! Did you see the video where I pulled a tree with the laminator and drove over myself, lol. Thats what makes it cool, ahaha. To be honest with you the current setup is running stock gears, the truck came with speed gears as well, if you put them on, it will do 30 MPH with the stock engine. I need to do that so we can all see.

thanks man!! I just drove it today around a track. IT drives pretty great, but is quite slow overall. Needs a bigger pinion, otherwise im happy with it. No idea about JANG though, but his channel name has recently been changed. maybe its a hint.
Back in the day XTM, put out some really nice products. I remember they had a big block kit for the T-Maxx. That electric buggy looks pretty good too. Great video 👍

I used to love XTm because it was always doing somehting unique back then, unfortunately they never became popular and were just too expensive. Tey have the XTM 24.7 engine upgrade for the T-maxx. That thing was a beast, i've seen a couple in real life.

I like it just because it's part of XTM history, otherwise it seems troublesome just with the huge amount of front bump steer alone. Never seen a buggy with such a terrible front steering setup.
Maybe you want to plug those wheel holes and punch couple holes each tyre, otherwise sand and dirt are going to grid your inserts.
So the weird stuff going on with the suspension on the buggy on the left you’re talking about at 11:52, isn’t bump steer used keep the car stable upon landing and keep the buggy straight under preload so the buggy tracks straight as you’re hitting the lip of the jump? I might be wrong idk.
The only real concern is the lack of replacement parts support.
hey buddy! That is always an issue with any rare or non-brand name RC. I have made multiple videos on this thing and even got a top speed of 52 MPH with a more powerful motor, a huge 3S lipo and a giant pinion, and nothing has broken at all. I'd say this thing is solid based on that alone.
Hey dimitri i know you're not into electric stuff but i bought some really cheap batteries the other day from Hyperion batteries. they had a line of batteries that did really bad because they branded the high voltage with the standard voltage (high voltage lipos are terrible and only last a couple charges before they puff) i ordered 7 standard voltage batteries from them. All 3s besides 2 2s that i use in series. They all work amazing and are well worth the money. its the G7 graphene sv. Ive had them for about a month now and i use a couple of them every other day or so. They all are within .01 voltage still, even couple small ones that i put in storage from the beginning. Basically cheap high C(50-70c) batteries costing about $10-$20 for 2-4s up to 5000mah. not an ad i swear i just feel like i need to share the find.

I think you could eliminate the issue with your XTM by adjusting your castor/camber.

I looked into the bump steer issue and looks like it's just a massive suspension design flaw, there is no camber/toe/castor adjustment that I could made that will make the wheels move as they should during the full stoke of the suspension movement. Pretty bad design, that's why XTM was never a top racing brand, lol. I still like the thing though.

whats up bro!! Yes, I do plan on installing the higher KV motor for this, I know for a fact the top speed on this is not great. I would say max 30 MPH stock, but that's ok, the value is still good. Maybe even a pinion will be adequate.
36mm diameter motors are for 1/10 scales. 40/42mm is normal for 1/8th scale a in a buggy a 4068 is the minimum.
i'd say you're mostly right. At least this is a 3660 can motor and not a 3650. To be honest with you I don;t really like any larger motors beyond the 3670 size can because they all tend to be very low KV rated and require at least a 4S setup to run. I personally just dislike going above 3S. Also this has the standard 5MM motor shaft and will accept standard MOD 1 pinion gears, you know. As you see I rarely push my stuff to the limits, so i just want some speed runs and moderate handling.

My plan is to first speed test it with the stock setup, then with the higher KV motor, then with the larger pinion. I think those minor upgrades are cheap and easy to do, something that any buyer can make happen.

as long as you have fun and do what you like in your videos the audience will like it too, eventually. Don't worry about the charging time on the electrics. I know everyone wants to charge fast and go but the reality is, a slow charge is better for long term battery life, just how it works. I never really worry about the charge rate, as long as the cells are balanced, thats why you saw I checked to make sure they were balanced well.

dude, so you got a huge big block engine in a 1/10 nitro touring car? I always liked XTM as an early off brand company, they really thought outside the box for a long time. They had many interesting designs, especially the XTM X-factor nitro truck, hopefully one day 'I'll get one.

hey bro, what's up? That is a tough choice because they are so different and in very different price ranges. The positive on the 144001 is that it is faster than this ZD racing in stock form. I would say if this is your first hobby grade RC then get the Wltoys, because it's much cheaper and many spare parts are available. IF you're a more seasoned Rc hobby guy then get the ZD racing, because of it's upgrade potential, but keep in mind, I am not aware of any parts support for these. LEt me know what you pick bro.
@@hybrid32494 OK, that being said I'm going with the 144001. One final question I found a 144001 that includes two batteries on the link you provided in the bundle. I'm looking at getting an additional third battery that would last longer and would occupy the entire battery area (longer life/ power) would you have a suggestion? Or should I just get a third smaller blue battery? Thanks for the fast response !
no problem dude, you know I'm here to help, tht's why I respond to everyone. I'd stick to just the two factory lipos, and skip any larger pack for now. Reason I say this is because it's best to let the motor and ESC cool down 5-10 minutes in between packs, this is how people fry their motors and electronics. Also there are so many batteries that you really should measure the actual space of the car and compare it to the battery size specs online. Most smaller packs will fit, but honestly Unless you get a 3S for speed runs there is no point in getting a larger capacity 2S pack when you already have 2 lipos, you know.

I need to get back to the gym too man. I've been out for over a week, just getting over the flu, still feel terrible. My goals for working out have always been to make sure it's sustainable and something I can do long term, if only they would let me record in the gym I'd have half my viewers here realize how easy a normal routine can be.

what country made this RC 1/8 car come from...
can use normal 550 motor in the car
hey buddy! this model is shipped from a warehouse in China, as most non usa based Rcs are these days. The motor can is a 540 style can, you can use various lengths of the 540 size. The current spec motor is 3660, you can use 3670 if you want also. But this buggy is pretty light, you don't need a 550 motor can. You need a higher KV rated motor.

hey buddy! This thing is kickings some AS* to this day. I've got it upto 52 MPH with only a motor and pinion upgrade. Raced it with many other RCS, no damage. In fact I have a few followup vids on it, look it up on this channel . Also I will be including some speed run footage of this buggy in this weeks video.

Decent bro 👍 you should get atleast a 4074 sized motor for it. I know you would have allot more fun with a bigger motor. I dunno why they put a tenth scale motor in a big buggy to save money i guess. But i bet she could take alot more power👍👍
I think the 4s battery will burn out the esc if it was 120 amps no problem or 100amps but that would run a bit hot if u try it and runs cool please let me know

hey!! thanks for checking out my video. I've got an exceed nitro buggy chassis. I would say almost all the 1/8 scale buggies look nearly identical in their layout. It's just the reality of the 1/8 buggy chassis, they all look alike to a degree, you know. Generally most exceed, HSP and all these off-brands look identical because they are just clones and copies of other older designs. I go no problem with that you know. As long as it's cheap and durable, this seems to be.

hey bro! this thing is solid, trust me. I've made some newer speed run vids and even raced this on a track with other RCS. no damage at all. BTW, I hit a top speed of 52 MPH with a 3S, a tall pinion and a higher KV motor. Chassis is solid. search my channel, you will find more vids on this thing.
Does this one have alloy hubs and uprights??
hey bro!! No, none of the suspension is aluminum or metal, other than the 17MM wheels hubs ofcourse. I bashed this in races pretty good and so far not one item has broken, so the plastics quality is remarkable.

hey man, would love to tell you if I had one of those, But I don't. Generally all these 1/8 buggies are about 85% the same anyway. But I would not buy it if you think that it's 100% the same. Eitherway, check out my newer speed run videos with this, I got 49 MPH with a 4300KV motor and a basic pinion upgrade.

Hey! I dont hate them at all honestly. I watch their channel and comment sometimes. I only said that as a joke about being the nitro expert lol. I watched their video on this buggy and they are 100% right. Good value but not too fast wity the stock setup.

That thing will be crazy fast with the 4300kv motor in it, I just installed a 4300kv motor from GoolRC in my ECX amp Crush and bro... It's almost to much power.
I am not a fan of cheap rc cars but this one seems to be alright I guess. I wonder how fast it will be since these buggies normally run atleast on 4S

hey dude!! It's possible, at this point there are so man different clone brands that I don't even care anymore. The only things that matter with modern non-branded ESC's are their Amp ratings and Cell ratings, you know. In terms of those two things, I'm content with this model. A castle system is great because it's programmable via a USB link, otherwise all the rest are mostly generic.
Well the problem is not the cost I worry about parts

hey dude. You should watch my newest videos on this, you will see. Let me just tell you while im here. I installed a 4300 KV motor and a huge pinion, got a top speed of 49 MPH so far, but am confidant it will hit 55 with a better lipo. Nothing broke at all, and I bashed it good. yes, def use that coupon code while you can. And the shipping times really don't bother me, I always have so many other projects to work on, you know. Anyway, I also have the JLB cheetah new in box, also a good rc. But I'm quite happy with this one, nothing broke and its a solid driver. Plus so easy to work on. Servo sucks, btw, I have not said anything about it, but it's fine while driving. You can expect mostly every RTR servo to suck, and you could get one from amazon with 25KG torque for like 15 bucks.
The arrma senton 3S is very good, I recently purchased one, Still have not unboxed it. The reason I like banggood is because you can avoid sales tax on there and they at least have coupons. With the 1/10 3S arrma senton you will be at about 325 with tax, that's alot.

hey dude!! I don't currently have any GS racing models. But i did used to have a Hot Bodies Lighting RR when it first came out, i'd say it's pretty much a direct clone, as most buggies back then were, and still are. I hated that dame Hot bodies though, the motor was such a nightmare. I've never ripped a pull start cord in my life until I met that Hot bodies.

Christian Wornall - I have the 959b or 979b or whatever it is you’re referring to. Depends what you want it for. Driving around in the grass and bashing it outside? It’s an absolute blast, although a bit hard to control.
However, I took it to our local track, rent over one jump and popped the shocks. I gave it to my buddy. He enjoys it.
Overall I would say you can’t go wrong for the price, but don’t expect a losi, Arrma, traxxas, or team associates from it... it simply isn’t one. For 1/16 I kept my Traxxas e-revo mini and gave the WLtoys away.... I do love their 1/24 drift car, though!

I used to own a redcat nitro shockwave buggy. I did a couple videos on it. I personally liked it for a simple beginner nitro car. I recently just sold it on eBay.

I can understand some polish, but the rest of the languages are pretty unique. From what I rem there was no RC in russia when i lived there, ofcourse i was a kid at the itme and the internet did not exist, lol (so i was just not aware). I do know that during the 60's-70's there were some model diesel airplane engines being made and model planes were popular, proabbly using a control line to fly. I've seen some of the old diesel plane engines run on THE BUG 404's channel here on outube.

hey dude!! I came to the realization that I need to get an ARRMA because somebody pointed out I bad mouth arrma alot, and they are right!! I give props to anyone who gives me constructive criticism. I have just right now ordered an ARRMA Senton 3S. My only reason for making fun of arrma as a brand is just an ongoing joke due to the fact that they don't sell any nitros, I could see how it could be easily misunderstood. Eitherway, I have the 3S sexton on the way!!!!

are you referring to the XTM nitro buggy I showed in this video or the Kyosho ones in the boxes behind me? As far as I know they are nowhere close to any ARRMA model. The XTM is a brand form the early 2000's and those Kyosho buggies are both Nitros. My choice was between the 3S typhoon and the 3S senton. I choose the Senton short course model because it's a little larger than the buggy, and I don't own a 4WD short course at this time, so I figured it's be the best pick. what do you think?

I seriously considered the granite to Steve Leahy, good point. The only 1/10 electric trucks I have are all 2WD, basically a stampede, a rustler and the slash VXL models. I love my slash, im sure you keep seeing it pop up in many of my videos, but I also wanted a 4WD for some sand beach runs and track driving, the 2WD just doesn't have good enough braking for me sometimes.

hey bro, I honestly never jump my RCs, it's a waste of time, and pointless, a great way to break stuff. BTW I've recently got this think to hit over 55 MPH with only a motor and pinion upgrade. I have raced in many parking lot style races with many other giant ARRMAs, they have even driven over this thing many times, and not a single break at all. I have a few other videos on this thing, check them out. I think you will agree, it's worth the money.
