Hey, you're getting pretty close to number 409. Ya gotta do that Beach Boys song with it when it's done. "Giddy-up giddy-up giddy-up 409. . . Nothing can catch her, nothing can touch my 409, 409."
Maybe you could stick a Chevy logo on it and paint it a hi-gloss candy-apple red, like a real Hot-Rod 60's machine.
Watching you now..special scale.BLUES ZONE..😎
dude this is your build !!! 👍🏽
Happy Holidays my friend
Same to you!
How did you get 407 empty cigar boxes
Loved it
Hey Del another great video from the master, I like the hand crafted aspect it justifies my little screw ups. This time I am building a small dulcimer like Seagull Guitars M4 kind of I have made a strum stick V shape sound box on a short neck like 21 3/4 inch scale with only 7 frets.I am wondering if you think I can get away with installing my frets and then clear coat it. Do you think it will effect the frets?
On the last CBG I made, I went all-out for versatility of sound. I put a series/parallel switch on the humbucker. I put a potentiometer knob, 500KΩ, between the coil and piezo pickups so I could dial in just the right balance on both. I put a polarity switch on the piezo, and 250KΩ tone and volume knobs. All that switch flipping and knob dialing doesn't make for a whole whale of a lot of difference in the sound but it was one of those mountains I just had to climb. My next CBG, a four string paint-lid resonator, is only getting a piezo pickup. I might not even put a volume knob on it, that's what amps and effects pedals are for.
Happy New Year to you too!
Split the bucker
Mona. New doggie helper with the Mojo and buddies?😊😎
Never mind, did the search and found your vid from 5 years ago.
First to like and comment!!! Del you are indeed the greatest CBG builder of all time. Wish you lots of success and happiness in 2023. Cheers.
awe shucks
You could use threaded inserts and nylon bushings, then you could adjust the humbucker height.
Custom. Hand. Job.
Hand made authenticy,
FYI, it's "hand crafted" whether you use a Cordless Drill OR a Drill Press. Differences is accuracy, lol
i would venture to say that all cigar box guitars are hand crafted…
Ohoh oh!😎 Watching now
Great vid
👍
I liked the message of this video. "Don't obsess over perfection on your hand builds". I have a tendency to be a perfectionist and it slows the build down and makes the experience tedious. Thanks I will try and add more hand built evidence to my CBG builds.
Well said!
in canada tobacco products arent allowed to be artistically labeled and must all be generic looking, so we arent getting anymore pretty boxes :(
seriously!?!
Del I sent you a email, I got the check back Dec 28, 2022 need PO BOX to send check.
i sent it to you bro
How did You set intentnation on Cigarbox guitar
go to youtube search bar and type in “Puckett cigar box guitar intonation”
You got me hooked.... Hubcap Howler kit on the way, I ordered a P90 and a piezo from CBGitty. 20 boxes coming and I`m collecting hardware..gettin my tools dusted off. just got a new knee, have a bit of time for a new hobby, so I'm gonna build 3 at the same time.
Del you are truly a plethora of culture and knowledge and an excellent teacher
Question: I saw some bone nuts on CBGitty. Probably seen a couple dozen of your vids. Never a bone nut. Por que? Love the eraser bridge on the resonator, gonna try that. Is it worth messing with a bone nut on a CBG?
Ive been watching your build videos nonstop for days. I need help!
How can I help you?
@PuckettCigarBoxGuitar I'm totally kidding. Your vids have been great. Just been binging them like a good Netflix series lol. I'm about to make an order on cbg for some tools and frets and I'll be getting to work scrounging wood and parts for my first build soon. Thanks for the discount code!
The back of a violin neck is not varnished. And varnish is a big deal in the violin world. But its about the friction and feel.
i subscribed to your channel
@@PuckettCigarBoxGuitar Thanks. Don't feel like you have to take up pottery. Lol.
always great man! Now with a top cat and big dog!
First things first safe and healthy new year to you and yours! What size piezo do you prefer? What’s your opinion on 27 mm . Plus I can’t get a lot of volume with out feedback any suggestions thanks again Sir.☮️👍🎉
13/16’s
Nice video, Del. I haven't built any CBGs yet but want to build a Bow Diddly for my son for his college graduation so love getting tips and ideas from you and other builders.
Go for it!
Hey again Del, I would like to comment on something that I discovered while looking deeper in your channel. I'm well passed 50 years old, and always have been a music fanatic. I clicked on the link to your church and watched the first half of the Christmas service. Probably the most beautiful song that I've heard this year, was that lady singing " Oh night Devine ". Wow that's an amazing church band.
Del, what size strings are you using for your EBe tuning?
Two thumbs up! Love those headstocks!
Rock on Del. Another great and entertaining video
What gauge strings do you use for a Gdg tuning at a 24.5 scale?
watch my strings videos??
I'm gonna stop building as i can never quite get them right. Thanks for all the great tips👍
you’ll regret stopping… you won’t regret no stopping
Don’t stop, learn from your mistakes man! However remember Handcrafted doesn’t mean lack of Craftsmanship
Hi What kind of Vox is that?
Vox Mini
Thanks again for another great video Del. I've built a dozen now and have developed a few of my own cheats, but great to see the tips from the masters. How do you decide how close to place the humbucker pole pieces to the strings?
