- For the past year, I’ve been taking weekly bass guitar lessons which was a 2023 New Year’s resolution to learn something new (and fun). I still consider myself very novice, but can say I’ve definitely grown since that first lesson. 🎶🎸🎶
I’ve been on a Beach Boys kick recently. 🥰 My teacher introduced me to #CarolKaye who recorded many songs for The Beach Boys (and countless others). 💜
!! Heyo nice one my friend that video rock :D !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks! I appreciate it!
hey, this is nice! But it's easier for you if you try to do it with way less finger movement. Try keep holding the the index and middle finger down when you use the ring finger, and keep the ringfinger down as well when you use the pinky. If you keep your thumb in the middle of the neck, and make and arch with your palm. If you pay attention to this you have to do less finger movement, which is great, and when you use your weaker fingers (pinky, ring) then the index and middle finger of yours help to hold the string. As I see you use a lot of strength fretting, which means your hand will get tired easily, plus it's harder to make fine movements. BUT THIS VIDEO IS GREAT, KEEP ON ROLLIN' !
(I hope it's OK to give this unwanted advice - I don't want to be smartypans)
@@banyek79- I really do appreciate the constructive feedback. ☺️ I’m really trying to work on this as my teacher has said the same thing. I’m sure that will help with the fret buzz as well, which I’m trying to keep in check. Thank you again!
You’ll get smoother with experience! Keep practicing! Love this song and glad it randomly popped up in my feed! The fret buzz will start to go away with playing time as well. Come back to revisit this video in a few months to see how much progress you’ve made!
@@mrhoupt- thank you for the words of encouragement!
Promo-SM 🤤
Your fretting technique needs a lot of work. A lot of unnecessary movement. Need to learn to use your pinky, too!
