In #MentalHealthAwareness week this needs bigging up. It explains a lot very simply. Soft Bulletin & Yoshimi got me through my worst years (PTSD). Playing this 15 years later takes me back to the bad old days in a good way. I realise Superman can lift heavier & more often than then. Worth remembering. Saw them at Newcastle City Hall way back when. Awesome performers. Wayne's the same age as me.

Just thought I’d share an interesting story about me and The Flaming Lips, I was born in 2003 and didn’t know too much about them growing up, but I did know that the bassist was my best friend’s uncle and that she stayed with him and her aunt most of the time, she came over every Friday and we played Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy and I think this was 1st grade, her aunt and uncle started to get to know my parents and I went over to their house once, and at the time we lived in Bellevue, Kentucky, so the day I went to her house we played with all these medieval imaginext that she had and some guy walked in and he was hanging out with Michael which was her uncle’s name, and then a few years later after I’d heard their music and saw Wayne Coyne I realized that the guy Michael was with was Wayne, it’s a weird story that I can never tell because none of my friends know The Flaming Lips and my family already knows

    Asked you a question
I didn't need you to reply
    Is it gettin' heavy?
    But they'll realize
    Is it gettin' heavy?
Well I thought it was already as heavy
    As can be
    Is it overwhelming
To use a crane to crush a fly?
It's a good time for Superman
To lift the sun into the sky
    'Cause it's gettin' heavy
Well I thought it was already as heavy
    As can be
    Tell everybody
    Waitin' for Superman
That they should try to hold on
    Best they can
    He hasn't dropped them
    Forgot them
    Or anything
It's just too heavy for Superman to lift
    Is it gettin' heavy?
Well I thought it was already as heavy as can be.
    Tell everybody
    Waitin' for Superman
That they should try to hold on

lurch321 It's an opinion, I'm allowed to have those, right? :D
Here's an opinion piece that happens to reaffirm my dislike of his disingenuity: learntohearagain.blogspot.com/2010/04/why-chris-daughtry-sucks.html

Sen Flores Damn, chill out. I was just asking why you don't like Daughtry. No need to give me the third degree. Lord......................

landmark album. for many years after it released it felt like butter for the ears. now it has aged a bit, but you only hear that because music today champions style over substance.

The video was so simple, yet so deep. It's difficult to not see the Christ imagery here on many levels. Christ as the hero or "savior" of man kind, just as the father in the video is the hero and protector of his son (as father roles go). The singer running into the post, i.e. literally running into his cross and bleeding all over. Also, he is dressed in white (purity, the light of Christ), in contrast to the blood that has completely engulfed his face as the child watches with compassion. The child, then uses his super powers to take back the pain, the mistakes, the trauma. The blood flow reverses, along with the backwards-flowing fountain behind. The video begins with the man sining behind a tongue of flame and red sparks. Then , as a human, he is dressed white, and the red comes OUT of him (blood). Yet the video end with water relieving the pain. The Holy Spirit. Holy water. It's all there. // I was brought here because I had just done a neat A-432 Hz conversion of the song. For those interested, I just put it up on my uToob channel here, The Acoustic Rabbit Hole
