    Will you return?
    Will you come down?
    Will you return?
    Will you come down?
    Will you return?
    Will you come down?
    Will you return?
    Will you come down?
    Flower gun
Now you’re on the run Flower head
Now all your friends are dead And their ghosts
Floating around your bed Hear it said
Now all your friends are dead
    Will you return?
    Will you come down?
    Will you return?
    Will you come down?
    Will you return?
    Will you come down?
    Will you return?
    Will you come down?
    Shooting star
    Crashing in your car
    what went wrong
now all your friends are gone
    And they scream
Screaming from beyond Hear their song
Now all your friends are gone
    Will you return?
    Will you return?
    Will you return?
    Will you return?
    Will you return?
    Will you return?
    Will you return?
    Will you return?
    Will you return?
    Will you come down?
    Will you return?
    Will you come down?
    Will you return?
    Will you come down?
    Will you return?
    Will you come down?
    Will you return?
    Will you come down?

My sons are addicts, both in prison as i type this... we have a very strong musical connection, we send messages by sending youtube videos to help eachother understand our feelings ( when they aren't in jail of course)... Im emailing them these lyrics... ❤ they can't watch the video but they can know what it says. I love this and so will they. Prayers to The Great Creator Energy for their awakening and recovery.

Wayne and Steve are great human beings . I was lucky enough to get to watch a sold out show at the Newport Music Hall on the stage . After the first encore I gave Steve a cigarette . He was so grateful and I told him how grateful I was . Dude gave me a bear hug . After the encore , I ran across stage to talk to Wayne who was about down the steps . He turn around and saw me and greeted me like an old friend . I was heading down to Bonnaroo in a few days and told him I would see them there . He gave me a hug and told to be safe and make sure I made it to the next show . They made me feel great during a difficult time . I already have my pre-order in for this one .

I hear that...sooo glad I saw em last year, when they had the CLAYPOOL LENNON DELIRIUM open up for them....2 of the best bands to see back to back...and I wouldn't say one was better than the other...although I preferred Claypool/Delirium. Probably cuz it was my first time seeing him with Sean Lennon & co. And I saw the lips many times...and nothing will top the time I saw them at a festival, play Yoshimi one AND TWO. back to back. And they covered Bohemian Rhapsody...that actually gave me goosebumps, and that was back when they still did all the confetti, confetti filled balloons, 50 people from the crowd on stage left dressed as Aliens, 50 on stage right dressed in Santa suits, all glow sticked out with those giant Gun like flashlights/spotlights...the set list was astonishing...i remember peaking during, Are you a Hypnotist just on cloud 9 squared....

"Ladies and gentlemen we are floating in space." This song makes me feel like that more than the Spiritualized album of the same name.

    • @blueandgreenslacks
      @blueandgreenslacks 3 роки тому +4

Sinner Train I remember that spiritualized time of my life. I had a girlfriend, who lived in OKC close to Norman and Bricktown anyways we were 10 years down the road living in Portland, Oregon. Every time I hear the announcement “ladies and gentlemen we are floating in space .” I have really crazy emotional memories that flash by so quickly and in that compressed space of time, I’m taken to Portland and live June 97’to September 98’. I was able to attend some of the raddest shows at the raddest and saddest part of my life and the day that I left was the first time I realized that, HEROIN does take the cake for the best and worst ever feeling...Ever, since then.

I guess you have a valid point and I don’t think I wanna say that particular song is the best and only song I’ve ever heard of spiritualized, but beforehand spacemen 3 was 𝕋𝕒𝕜𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝔻𝕣𝕦𝕘𝕤 𝕥𝕠 𝕄𝕒𝕜𝕖 𝕄𝕦𝕤𝕚𝕔 𝕥𝕠 𝕋𝕒𝕜𝕖 𝔻𝕣𝕦𝕘𝕤 𝕥𝕠. Also I have been to many many different spaces in many many different spaceships and I do prefer Capt. Wayne Coyne’s even though I’ve served on Capt. Jason Pierce’s. tripperdelaluna1 Same hear. “Love Yr Brain” was a great, early, cerebral one of their songs too. And the ending track where they sledge hammer a piano... WTF?! Mind blowing. 🤯

@@mkhud50n The whole Flaming Lips experience was mind blowing - one million billionth stands out as well - I was fortunate enough to see them live back then. I remember buying the "Hear it is" album and being so shocked by Jesus shooting heroin. I met them a few times as well - pretty cool guys.

I'm a recovering heroin addict, and, I don't know why, but this song reminds me of all the friends I've lost to the needle and the spoon. I've not been overwhelmed with emotions, devastation, wanting, and sheer sadness like I was when I first listened to this song. I love the flaming lips.

so this opens the album! wonderful! mellow, wayne's gorgeously sweet and melting soft vocals, and that spacey grand part:
    "Shooting star
    Crashing in your car
    what went wrong
    ..."
and the rest of the song is, not to sound cheesy and pretentious (but i already did with describing the song ahahah) like surrendering, or a countdown! amazing amazing instrumentation! sonic guitars, some magical strings i hear!

I have been a prisoner of my pain since i realized that my world was broken. Thankfully, I was raised by music lovers who introduced me to wonderful, quirky, geeky, psychadellic, and fucking pure mf bands like yours. You raised me, Wayne. Thank you for the influence, the healing, the connection to my fam from the memories i have driving in the car listening to your music or going to a few of your shows. I remember we borrowed one of our cousins dvd of lips videos and didn't give i tack accidentally. I hope we get to make some muisc someday man. I'm from Texas. They have definitely become masters of the subtle, beautiful Melody. Steven is a truly underrated musician
I have seen them live 5 times and I think Yoshimi is one of the greatest pieces of musical art of the last 25 years....
    BUT....they have lost me.
The last 5 years or so of their music sounded like they were lost and this new music being a somewhat return to form is just....to soft?
    It's to airy.
    I don't know I am rambling.
I am very glad for anyone else who finds something in their new music.
We are lucky to have them in our lives to help us thru the day.

Ok so, some 30 years back I showed up late for an underground show at an abandoned bank and dropped acid. I wound up peaking while everyone was packing up and leaving. A witchy redhead that I had a crush on looked at me like a nurse looks at a dying man and said to me "All your friends are gone." She then basically asked if I was ok (I probably should have tried to hookup, but I was high and stupid). I said I was and she quickly disappeared. Afterward I spent the next four hours (or so it seemed) driving around hopelessly lost on the streets of Detroit. The next day, after finally getting home, I woke up at 4 in the afternoon and drove to McDonald's about a mile away where my car ran out of gas in the drive-thru and I had to borrow an orange juice bottle to get enough gas to get the car out of the drive thru and across the street to the gas station to fill up.
I no longer live in Detroit. Most of those friends are around. Some not. I tried to look up that girl up once or twice on FB, but chose not to dig into it.
Wayne does an amazing job of making middle-aged angst and midlife crises cool. What if this song had been around back then?

All of my friends were there-even my now husband-who I hooked up with in ‘07-a few weeks after the concert. We were all tripping on really good acid that someone had there, named 2012. What an AWESOME EXPERIENCE!! I’ve LOVED the Flaming Lips 👄 ever since then. Good people to throw a free concert.💟💟💟
