Maayybe Chad's complaint about receiving those alerts, sent during that day, could suggest a relevance for deleting the app and along it, those logs? Fingerprint is probably stored on the phone as a hash value. Function comparing fingerprint to hash value is probably classified and copyright protected (not to mention embedded deep within the code). And yea as if Grant didn’t have days to wash himself, his stuff and all clothing from blood and DNA.
A pool of blood will retain moister for a longer period of time. A thin layer of blood that got smeared on to a face or hand will dry out much quicker.
Good closing. He made good points. He showed the games that the cops and prosecution play. All true. He never once said that Grant was innocent. He was trying to take the death penalty off of the table.
My feelings are grant committed the murders. BUT.....defense attorney diffinately put a great closing statement and placed that "reasonable doubt" in my mind.
@@letolethe5878 Did you even watch the trial? None of his DNA whatsoever was found on anything.. none in the car, none on his cloths, none in the hotel he was staying at, none in the house. It sounds like some reasonable doubt to me. And before you say anything about me defending him, I'm not, even after hearing from both sides, I still think he did it.
yea not bad... and yes i know it's not up to the defense to prove anything, but if you want to cast doubt on case you can't just say the state didn't do this or that and could be wrong (like what finger/hand was used to unlock phone, etc) you need to know. easily tested, then test it and show the jury it was the wrong finger. A good defense team will check these big box's off the list, not just have a list.
Maybe it's because I've watched the whole thing one day after the other, so I had vivid and clear recollection of the witnesses' testimonies, but to me all the defense did was misrepresenting each testimony. Some time entirely making up statements from witnesses. As for absence of DNA from victims (some poster here said "his" DNA, which makes no sense, of course there was his DNA) on his clothes, hotel and cars, he had more than 5 hours in the house to change clothes and clean up. Not a difficult task. Defense did not awake any doubt in my mind, let alone a reasonable one. All they did was upsetting me for the straightforward misrepresentation of the testimonies. Fortunately the jury had transcript.
You know folks I'm a bit curious as to what the judge is doing on her computer. What could possibly be so much more important than than the murder trial? It doesn't appear that she is paying 100% attention to what these attorneys are saying. And no I dont hate women! 😉

@@FlyManChimera but there was no ones DNA. You simply don't always leave DNA, especially if you plan ahead, are careful and have a lot of time, which is the case here. If there was no ones DNA it means, no one left any DNA, which means DNA simply isn't a factor in this case. In fact it just means that someone was careful, had a lot of time, and planned the event. Which all indicate Grant. Have you seen the letter Susan Bhan (youtuber) got from him, from prison? Its says his family are not standing by him.
But at least he could sound more convincing and more knowledgeable . He just sounds like he defending Grant with no evidence. Stuttering and sounding like a high school battle lol
Not so long ago violent video games got blamed for enticing violence. $200,000 on a webcam scammer is a whole new dimension. Should society impose regulations on that 'industry'? Of course this does not excuse or provide for abdication of personal responsibility and murder. But it is a form of addiction.
his tone of voice sounds like he’s saying “what can i even say?” but with other words. that argument about we all use our thumbs to put our passcode into our phones was pretty good though. i was almost convinced there.
Ugh, he's not a good attorney in terms of presenting. He sounds unsure and told them to understand that he's just doing his job. LOL I would fire him immediately. "Who uses an index people to put in a passcode?" Uuuuuuh, older people and actually I do too.
This lawyer should really watch his words. So many times he comes off as saying he's guilty as crap but they can't prove it. Especially "the cops said they would help him, they can't help him". That sounds awful without adding something like his whole family was murdered and he's a suspect when he didn't do it. Lots of other little slip ups.
He has a point. The police in this case seemed amateurish. The Male interrogator kept checking his phone and going on about " coming to Jesus" and telling hi to just confess so he'd feel better.
But the fact that the interrogator did a bad job of getting a confession actually HELPED the defense. And the interrogator while amateurish didn't do anything outside of the law or anything that would render the interview inadmissible. And CZU did a thorough job so nobody who actually mattered did a bad or amateurish job.
How did he have the money to hire this law firm? If he killed his parents, does he inherit their money? Why would he steal from his parents in the first place if he had money of his own? The existence of this defense is a puzzle to me.
23:07 huh?? I'm right handed and hold my phone exclusively in my left hand unless I'm talking on it. I have no idea why this is even a part of the defense, but it seems logical to hold your phone in the non-dominant hand so you have your dominant one free for anything else. I have also seen COUNTLESS people (over a certain age) use their index finger to type, unlock, swipe, and scroll. Baffling he chose to include that in the closing argument!!
This was not convincing. It's almost as if Grant's real lawyer got stuck in traffic. And, they grabbed the nearest guy in a suit. "Just busk for a while. The real lawyer will be here in ten minutes"

@@BoeyJones Not to mention that pleading insanity was mostly out of the question due to what happened with the ward/rehab, or at least for whatever reasons that led to GA not testifying before court. (They could have attempted to establish his sense of reality was warped from his deep psychological obsession with Sylvie). There were also big challenges to establish a case for non-premeditated homicide.
@@BoeyJones I dont know that the attorneys for Amato are solid or not, but I agree with you that they did about as good with what they had.
I only clicked on this because I thought they finally arrested Stephen Miller.
That was my very first thought when I saw this guy!
this defense is getting a lot of criticism, but honestly in a case like this what more can you expect? it's not his fault that Grant did a horrible job coving up the murder of his family.
Enjoyed it??
I thought the EXACT same thing.
I know right. Wtf?
They all get souvenir tshirts too....from the court gift shop. "I was a Grant Amato juror".
I’d like to thank the members of the academy, my family, my agent,
I think this attorney spent about 10 mins in a bar preparing this. 'He could have been half way to Bulgaria'.... Seriously? Check out how many flights there are into Sofia, capital of Bulgaria...
Exactly....with NO money! Not to mention the so called "girlfriend" certainly didn't invite him 🙄
Why Grant did not take the stand if he is that innocent or maybe there are questions that he will not be able to answer. That’s what I thought
I remember hearing on the radio at the time that the defense did a mock cross and decided GA should not take the stand.
When the police approached him and was then interrogated he never ONCE asked them whats going on or why do you need to speak to me? Innocent people would want to know why the police need to speak with them. I found that very odd.
@@krystalbrown9080 He didn't have to ask, because he already knew.
@@krystalbrown9080 Ya, saw the police arrest and he submitted wordless, no questions asked and neither in the police interview, besides his dad wouldn't have given him his credit cards...
I was really hoping he would take the stand but he would have gotten slaughtered if he did that.
I dont feel bad for the attorney. He's trying to hold on to every straw, but his job is to raise enough doubt to acuit Grant (yeah he did it i know) In this situation there is only one option: go full blown with simple facts a jury can understand and quesion the killing in relation to Grant only. Now hes talking about wineglasses, a timeline that didnt add up. Thats not going to convince any jury. He needs to raise serious doubt about the very killing.
38:18 “Grant Amato’s body...”?? I think you mean Chad Amato’s body.
I had to watch that again. This attorney is offering plenty of reasons to appeal on the grounds of inadequate defense.
William Buehner: Maybe that’s his strategy! Then he can get out of this case and some other poor beggar can take it on.
omg, at 21 min Maybe I’m wrong, or misunderstand, but I use my index finger to unlock the phone. I wonder if he doesn’t realize a lot of people do that
I use my right index finger, since I am right handed. People would use their dominant index finger scan to unlock their phone or other accounts. I use my right thumb to type text, using my right index finger at the top right hand side to balance the phone. This defence lawyer is saying that the parents and brother were alive later, was Shapiro there at the scene to witness the shooting and deaths? NO......
yea, I use both hands, just depends. the defense has nothing, ernist effort, but nothing to work with
"How much did you spend on this cam girl?"... "I don't know... like... two hundred thousand?"
......so casually.🙄
When they asked him that question I thought he would lie...I thought he wouldn't be able to reveal how much he actually stole/spent on a cam girl. But he did without much affect...like it wasn't unusual!!!
Probably purchased, or had from the hospital, a full disposable body suit. Removed it, threw it in a garbage bin.
Or?.... Shower
@@jhyland87 What about his clothes? Unless of course he did it naked.
what?
@@MsPhoebus : Ummm, well... he is pretty strange.
Just need one of those disposable ones you can buy from hardware stores.
Automotive spray painters wear them in a spray booth. When painting a car.
We don't have full body suites in hospitals. Not in my country anyways.
We wear 2 piece scrubs, or disposable aprons, gloves or booties over our shoes.
Wow, this defence has nothing and is so obvious in his summation!
Check out the dude setting diwn in front of sandra bullock. Tie all cockeyed eyes rolling back in his head. Lol
😴🙄
You can use three different fingers on my i-phone. My index finger is one of them.

"The Blink app does not record video so why would it be maliciously deleted?"
Misleading attempt to undermine the credibility of a key witness. Begs the question: is access to recorded video clips the only incriminating evidence the app could plausibly have?
(Maybe logs of when the app has been activated by the cameras and alerted the user? Maayybe Chad's complaint about receiving those alerts, sent during that day, could suggest a relevance for deleting the app and along it, those logs? Maaaayyybe a recent alert from a room where Grant was not supposed to be allowed in and where Margaret had no reason to go during her work day could be incriminating info? Maaaaaaaayyyybe the deletion was done by a person who was not familiar enough with the app to know that it didn't record video locally or on a cloud. Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyybe the plentiful effort to try and access, and failing that, wipe, Cody's iPhone, was in attempt to delete the app from that device as well?)
That judge looks like a sexy Ozzie Ozborne
He says you know about a thousand times
And the prosecutor who did the closing used "Okay?" about as often as Chris Watts used "like."
i just checked and he said the term "you know" only 26 times you are off by 974 times of the usage of this term. i would not hire you as my lawyer ever
It takes so much effort to follow this guy's stuttering scattered speech that you can hardly understand the points he's trying to make. Scintilla bro.
I can second that
Apparently this lawyer doesn’t understand the idea of a hazmat suit, or just taking a shower? Just sayin
glad to see linda blair got freed of the demon and now has a good job and giving back to society as a judge
Good closing. He made good points. He showed the games that the cops and prosecution play. All true. He never once said that Grant was innocent. He was trying to take the death penalty off of the table.
The thing about not finding Grants blood, footprints, fingerprints on the bodies or in the house? No one else's dna was found either.
Didn't know a judge was also a stenographer
She taking notes....which odd too be typing them
This guy speaks so weirdly. "She's gongta reechu the dofinition of riestable doubt..."
Fake Mobster🦞
Is the judge also the court reporter? I see her typing away and listening closely
Ha, I just commented on that during the defense opening
It’s weird right? I’ve never seen a judge do that before
My feelings are grant committed the murders. BUT.....defense attorney diffinately put a great closing statement and placed that "reasonable doubt" in my mind.
Why? What do you have a reasonable doubt about?
Sandee Jaime I’m glad I wasn’t going back with the jury after the defence closing argument. Definitely caused doubt in my mind.
I am right handed and I use my index finger. This defense lawyer is desperate.
You know folks I'm a bit curious as to what the judge is doing on her computer. What could possibly be so much more important than than the murder trial? It doesn't appear that she is paying 100% attention to what these attorneys are saying. I can appreciate that some folks may be able to multi-task but when you are dealing with a murder trial I would have thought all eyes forward/put away everything else. Just my opinion. And no I dont hate women! 😉
Yeah we've enjoyed our experience and your clients going to jail this defense attorney doesn't sound too confident how did he end up defending a murderer
For everybody saying this defense attorney sucked, I would disagree. Johnny Cochran couldn't have saved Grant. This guy had literally nothing to work with.
This defense attorney is good at his job. He put doubt in my mind.
I totally agree
How? What possibilities of doubt is there? Its one of the most clear cut guilty cases I've seen.
@@alex123case The most clear cut with 0 dna evidence? Its pretty obvious but there's definitely a bit of room for some doubt
@@FlyManChimera csi / dna not always the closer lol
@@FlyManChimera but there was no ones DNA. You simply don't always leave DNA, especially if you plan ahead, are careful and have a lot of time, which is the case here. If there was no ones DNA it means, no one left any DNA, which means DNA simply isn't a factor in this case. In fact it just means that someone was careful, had a lot of time, and planned the event. Which all indicate Grant. Have you seen the letter Susan Bhan (youtuber) got from him, from prison? Its says his family are not standing by him.
this defense attorney is a joke all he does is TRY to discredit witnesses.
Have u ever seen a trial where ppl talk back n forth to the jurors ?? I have not
Not one “scintilla” of blood.....He sure likes that word! 😝
Passcode a finger on each hand so you can eat chips and surf.
I'm pretty sure this fella just called his client dead? I know that would've been 👌 but didn't happen
My right index finger is used for my pass code for my work iphone. After a while, I added my right thumb in addition to my index finger.
Why didn't they talk to the treatment center
That is the absolute worst closing argument I have ever had the misfortune to hear
He's just saying words but none of them mean anything. He's literally just talking in circles about nothing.
defense in these cases always get dunked on.. but I gotta feel bad for them cos they very much are needed for a fair trial..
The ultimate coomer
People are too harsh on the defense attorney. He's in a no-win situation. It's like defending a puppy that is sitting next to a pile of poop.
how big is the pile? i'll defend the puppy, it could've been a big dog....a poop and run as it were,
Nothing worse than a poop and run. Except maybe murdering your parents and brother to spend an hour and a half with a virtual girlfriend.
Great analogy!!🐶
jackie whitehouse I’m deaddd 😭🤣🤣
But at least he could sound more convincing and more knowledgeable . He just sounds like he defending Grant with no evidence. Stuttering and sounding like a high school battle lol
I would've found him guilty just for those ears alone! Those things scream guilty!!
Probably Cody’s credit card ....
@@lizelleswart6327 Lol.
They need a few weeks in the Old Bailey to show what real barraters are.
I wish i knew more about the suicide note. He mentioned something about Grant admitted he wrote it......anyone know any more detail?
Does this court have a court stenographer? Because I don't want to believe the this judge is doing that job.
He’s literally sitting in plain view at the right side of the screen
If his parents were alive they'd pay off the judge for him for their own murders.
This was not convincing. It's almost as if Grant's real lawyer got stuck in traffic. And, they grabbed the nearest guy in a suit. "Just busk for a while. The real lawyer will be here in ten minutes"
