Before the killings he wrote an odd, rambling apology letter (for lying about being a successful, rich gamer) which addressed all the other guys in the “Sylvie appreciation group” by name. If only his brain had even the slightest bit of reality run through it, he could've used that $200K+ to fix himself into a much more attractable man (hair transplant, other stuff), have money left over, have his family still alive AND get a "real" girl in the "real" world.

    • @rayray8687
      @rayray8687 5 років тому +6

      Nikki B: A completely bald person would not likely be eligible for a hair transplant because they would not have enough donor hair elsewhere. But anyway, to make himself more attractive he only needed to get off the drugs and get a job. And if he prefers flying solo to sex with a real partner he could have gotten the same service from Silvie for twenty bucks I bet. This is a drug user’s reality.

      @@rayray8687 I'm thinking your last message was for someone else. But I am curious what "drugs" you think he was on?? If you're referring to the drugs he was stealing from the hospital, that drug (it was only one) was propofol. That's an anesthetic drug. My guess is he was selling it to someone. You can EASILY die from it so I doubt he was administering it to himself as it cannot be administered that way. There isn't a "high" you get from it. The only drug this man had was his porn & Silvie addiction. Also, on the balding subject, if a man doesn't have enough hair on the horseshoe part (shape created by remaining hair on sides of head & around the bottom back of head) to obtain a transplant, there are many other options nowadays to still give the appearance of a full head of hair. Granted, it can be costly and does require maintenance, but it is absolutely possible and looks completely real.

      Men use women in porn? No! Anyone in porn agrees to do it for money, fame, or both. Men don’t use women in porn. Porn is nasty and I agree it’s complete garbage. Porn itself is not the “devil” it always comes down to people and what they do with it. As long as it is created by consenting adults and viewed by undisturbed individuals problems arise not. So, the issue are the people. In this case, three people got murdered by what? Not porn. A very disturbed guy armed with a gun and there you have it again full circle.

Its one of the most strange cases I have ever heard of. first wiping out your father's retirement money, over 200,000 then doing the same to your brother 50,000 and after they find out he gets a slap on the wrist really. He was so lucky the father would allow him to stay in the family. He just had to follow the new rules. but no , not good enough, comes in kills everyone after he was thrown out for talking to the woman again. That woman didn't give a damn about him. but who the hell sends money like that to a cam model ? it must really be very very good for the money.

    Love the prosecuting attorney’s asides: “‘Get a job’ … reasonable.” Not too frequent and a nice way to keep the jury’s attention. And the occasional dig at Grant is appreciated, can’t imagine it hurt with everyone who had to look at the defendant’s slow lizard blinks for days on end, knowing what he did to his family.
    Pointing out Grant’s being transfixed by Sylvie’s photo, and saying he (prosecutor) knew the jury noticed it because he himself noticed it, was a really effective moment. Grant looked caught out and even more fisheyed than usual.
    Finally - the prosecutor in the Halderson case has maybe the best opening statement I’ve ever seen, but this is a very strong closing. I like that this prosecutor sounds a bit like Billy Crystal, too, kind of a smart/quick but not obnoxious or hard to understand way of speaking, lots of tone variation to get his points across. That’s 185,000 minutes or 3000 hours of chatting??? Wtf????? Also, why not just commit and shave the remaining 31 strands of side head hair??

    • @alewis514

      pretty sure your math is off. It was 90 tokens per minute so 5400 per hour. Which is more or less $600 per hour, you pay that much and you have *almost* 1 hour.
      If he blasted through $275,000 he would have purchased about 458 transactions $599,99 each. So 450 hours give or take.
      This took him about 3 months to accomplish so one could assume he was doing this every night for many hours, 4-6h at a time.

      Good idea! A photo would certainly trigger him to at least some degree. They would just have to debate and plan the best wording to accompany that. Maybe something along the lines of " I understand that you loved this woman, that you felt that she cared for you too and that your family JUST DIDN'T GET IT AND DIDN'T CARE ABOUT THAT!" Said with a sad, understanding but adamant, emotional tone, perhaps shake their head at the end of the phrase. Cody was his ride or die. Cody paid for an all expenses trip for them both to go to Japan - the home of anime, one of Grant's main interests. When Grant stole medication and was fired from his nursing job, Cody paid the employer off so that the charges would be dropped and Grant wouldn't go to prison. His whole family stepped up for Grant again and again. Yet, he sat in that police interrogation room and - with a straight face - implied that Cody murdered both their parents. Wow. Complete danger to society. I'm thankful he's no longer walking around free.
    Does anyone know if the cam girl, Sylvie has spoken about all of this? I wonder how she reacted when contacted by Chad and Cody.

He was certainly Ms Amato’s biological son and he was legally Mr Amato’s adopted son, and the prosecutor who is supposedly a person educated in matters of law should be the first to realize that.
      The prosecutor f***ed up, simple as that.

    • @Viva_Sativa
      @Viva_Sativa 5 років тому +1

      Meh. I disagree. Jason seems to have been mostly left out of what happened, both the incident itself and the discussion. It's all Grant, mother, father, bio brother. Jason wasn't one of the people "in the way". It's not a mistake to think that from Grant's perspective he was "the only son left alive" of the "two sons" the father had.

    Grant should be ashamed of himself and disgusted at what he did. After everything his brother did for him, to kill him and still think of himself as the victim is so unbelievably pathetic. And what did his Mum ever do to him? I know his Dad might have been abusive at times, but there are worse Dads out there. What did Grant plan to do after he'd killed the people that fed him and gave him a roof over his head.......move to Bulgaria? I can't believe he thought he was in a real relationship with Sylvie 😲.
