I think it's the first Souls like game that is as good as a FromSoft made one. The other clones like The Surge and Mortal Shell are cool but they lack something.

Nice list. Lies of P is my favorite Souls game period Fromsoft or otherwise. That game hooked me in a way that no other game did this year. Easily my GOTY.
BG 100% correct that Lies of P is MY game of the year. And BG if the game was made by FROM it would have been capped at 60fps on PC and Console and no Ultra Wide support. So am glad it was a different dev
Lies really is one of the best souls like games ever made
I'm not even a big Soulsborne guy but I really liked Lies of P. The world and setting was unique and made me more invested

Unless you planned on looking at no Jedi Survivor videos on YT it was going to get ruined. Game came out in the summer.

I bought Jedi survivor on launch day but gave up after 3 days
Loved it in September though and got the platinum. Really shame how it was rushed out

jedi survivor has some of the best graphics and gameplay of 2023 along with a decent story. It's easily my GOTY. I wonder what it would rank if it didn't have issues at launch.

Just hit the credits on dead space remake. First time playing it and thought it was phenomenal. Hooked up my ps3 just to try dead space 2 lol lies of p is my goty too. It sounds crazy to say but that game is just as good as bloodborne if not better

Lies of P is the first fromsoft clone that I have ever played that was actually good imo and I’ve played a couple they’re always missing something. But you right if it was dropped by fromsoft yeah it would’ve been bigger and there’s a stigma apparently for gamepass games so that could be it too.

Dead space remake is in my 2023 top 5 absolutely. I’m glad I didn’t play the original bc the game aged very well and it looks like all they changed was some of the mini games or puzzles and rebalanced the weapons. 9/10

I don't think resident evil 4 should be in a top 10 it holds its own place that doesn't need to be explained due to it being remastered 10 times.

You don’t play ac6 for the story. You play it for the boss fights and the customization and gameplay
im sorry man. if the devs are so not confident with their games and had to put it on a subscription day 1, then i am not confident to give them my money and buy it on day 1. maybe i will throw them a bone once the game drop to bargain bin price.

Lies of p is good but it’s definitely not up there with fm souls games. It has potential I just wish the world had more depth and mystery. Too linear imo
Most souls games are linear with the illusion of choice.
