noticed the shelf of Jackson immediately and started crying haha. Been a watcher for a long time and he was always the sweetest cat, so I can only imagine what a hard year it's been for you dealing with his loss. Its nice to see that little space there honouring him ♥️🐾
Omg yay, I love that you loved Happy Place! Honestly, so many reviews of this book made me feel like such a loser, because everyone was saying how unbelievable it was for people in their late 20s to be such a mess, and I found it extremely relatable at 34!! Lol I don’t know, I think people have this idea that once you found your person, everything will just work out, but sometimes you can be with the right person, and still have to work through your own personal baggage before the relationship can run smoothly. That goes for romantic, relationships and friendships.
You got your ring!!! 💍 I found recently too that with my undiagnosed ADHD that audiobooks work better for me. I also am slower at reading physical books but when I can't stay focused it makes it 10x harder. Audiobooks allow me that time to do other things while getting some reading time in so my ADHD isn't too uncontrolled. 2023 turned out to be the year that changed me the most also. In March I lost my cat best friend unexpectedly so I understand your heartbreak 💔. I read The Dictionary of Lost Words and it was definitely one of my favorite 2023 reads. I didn't know there was a second book tied into it though so I will definitely have to read it. Definitely excited for what your channel has coming in 2024!!!
New to finding you from scrolling best yearly reads videos…but gotta say the appearance of Archer & Charlie made me subscribe! I have an almost 5 mo. old mini long-haired black & tan female named Piper (& have had several other standards in the past)!
These are my fav videos to watch! The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches (such a long title omg ahha 😂) sounds like something I would loveeeee and just seen it's on kindle unlimited!
It's so difficult to say what best books I read in 2023 and I've read some amazing books, but my number one top favourite was Heartstopper Volume 5 by Alice Oseman 💙💙💙
My favourite book I read this year was The Heart’s Invisible Furies, which has become my fav book of all time I think! Honourable mentions however to The Book Thief (finally read it this year and wow I cried so much) and Demon Copperhead (loved this book too!)
Remarkably Bright Creatures and The Wishing Game are also in my top 3 for the year. Have a great 2024!

You're the person on UA-cam whose reading taste I align with the most, so I came out of this video with so many recommandations 😍 Most of them are books that I haven't heard of, so I'm excited to add them to my TBR!
Omg. I was introduced to the Wishing Game because of you and that was immediately my favorite book of 2023! 5 STAR read. 🥰💓💓💓💓💓 I can't wait to read some of your other favorites!
I always love your Bookmas videos, but I know that is a lot and way too stressful! I'm glad to see you making changes to benefit you and your health. I lost my little best friend too this past year, and it has been hard without him.
I am soooo excited - and thankful - for more vlog content. I have been absolutely adoring your vlogs this past year, Hailey. They're fun and insightful and silly sometimes but I always learn something and they're just so relaxing to watch. So happy you're continuing with it. Also YAY you got your ring again!!!
Clearly the changes you have made are agreeing with you! Lovely to see you and love the list! I have recommended Remarkably Bright Creatures to so many people since I read it in 2022… still one of my favourites! My top 3 this year - Mad Honey by Jodi Picoult, The Measure by Nikki Erlick and The Shell Seekers by Rosamunde Pilcher (technically a reread). Glad to add a few of your favourites to my TBR list. Happy 2024! 🎉❤
I missed bookmas this year but I get that it can be really stressful. Are you going to do any videos that you sometimes do for bookmas? Maybe New Year’s resolutions or books you’re most looking forward to?
I'm so glad that you enjoyed Iron Flame as well as Fourth Wing. While I understand and accept a lot of the criticism out there for it, I still really loved it and was feeling so alone in my opinion! AI can't wait for book 3! My favourite book of 2023 was Exit West by Mohsin Hamid :)
Hi Hailey, i just want to say i love watching your book videos, some of the videos where i got my recommendations on what books to read next are from your videos, I would love to see more of the TBR videos that you do, or books to read in 2024 or even YA books to read in 2024.
Wow, just came to check of there were any books mentioned that might align with my reading taste and I can pretty much write down all these titels...!!!! Love it
The Wishing Game is high on my tbr. It sounds like something i would really like My favorite book of the year was Unseelie by Ivelisse Housman. It's a YA fantasy. The plot is nothing you haven't seen before, but the mc is autistic. As someone with autism myself, i never realised how much i needed that representation until i read this and it's so well-done and i need more people to read it because it's so underhyped! I'm so looking forward to all the wonderful videos you're going to bless us with in the new year 🩷
Great to see book content again!! Looking forward to seeing both vlogs and books stuff, it’s all so delightful and helps motivate me to read and clean, so thank you! Congrats on all the reading this year, i’m just cussing if these books are from December 2022 to December 2023 of January 2022 to January 2023?? Thanks for all the content and looking forward to 2024! 🎉❤
I'm so happy you loved Seven Days in June and Happy Place. Both are amazing imo. Also, I'm happy you are not getting influenced by all the bookish opinions about hyped books, because it leaves you making up a genuine opinion of your own that you can stand by without any influencea from the noise. I love the new changes and your honesty in your channel. I hope you have the best year ahead 🙏🏼🤩
I have owned All My Rage for a year but I’ve been scared to read it because of how heavy it sounds, but knowing it’s YA actually makes me want to read it now!!
I had a really great reading year too. I read 135 books thanks to discovering audiobooks in late Spring. My Favs of 2023 were: Paperbacks - Anna Karenina, Pachinko, The Tatooist of Auschwitz Audio - The Echo of Old Books, Spare, West with Giraffes EBook - The Reading List, House of Hollow
My favourite book of 2023 was definitely Yours Truly by Abby Jimenez. The anxiety rep with Jacob made me feel so seen and was the most accurate depiction of how I experience anxiety that I’ve ever read. Also the romance between him and Briana was just the cutest!
I read The Wishing Game by your recommendation and it was definitely top 5 this year! #1 was for sure Daisy Jones and The Six. Listened to the audio book and I almost started reading it again after I finished it
Awesome video 😅😊‼️💯 I was just diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia and I am have realised that audiobooks help me read better and therefore I have read more books. And I am also learning so much about myself and how my ADHD masked who I am and what I want to do and be. What’s your ADHD story ? 😊
I’ve had The Wishing Game in my shelf since it came out. Now I will definitely get around to it soon! Top three books of the year: 3. Carrie Soto is Back 2. Divine Rivals 1. The Renegades Trilogy
Happy 2024! I loved the wishing game too! But also the weight of blood by Tiffany D Jackson, then she was gone by Lisa Jewell and the naturals and inheritance games series by Jennifer L Barnes 😊❤
I would love to see a video about your feel good, light hearted and funny book reccomendations. Some of my favorite books this year were Healing for no one but me by Jennae Cecelia, Unexpecting by Jen Bailey, All Alone with You by Amelia Diane Coombs, Tilly in Technicolor by Mazey Eddings and Love in Winter Wonderland by Abiola Bello. I am looking forward to your book reccomendations this year and all of your other wonderful content!
I also read The Great Alone this year and loved! But I also read The Four Winds by her and I honestly cannot decide which I loved more. I think if you loved the Great Alone you would also really enjoy The Four Winds :)
We have similar taste, so hopefully you like some of my recommendations too! My favorites included Tilly in Technicolor by Mazey Eddings, Business or Pleasure by Rachel Lynn Solomon, Better Hate Than Never by Chloe Liese, Always the Almost by Edward Underhill, They Never Learn by Layne Fargo, Yours Truly by Abby Jimenez, & Know My Name by Chanel Miller
Here's my favorite books 1. Spare by prince harry 2. Delilah green doesn't care 3. The mind series by s.t abby 4. Reminders of him by colleen hoover 5. Tell me everything by minka Kelly memoir
Agreed most like enemies to lovers, I am new to romance I tend to not like it until recently when I read holiday romance (friends to lovers) loved it and thinking maybe I would just love that trope..would love to see a friends to lovers recommendations video.
I just finished Fourth Wing and Iron Flame... I dont see why everyone hates Iron Flame either.. I gave it 5 stars.. I think theres few people out there that didnt like it and i see people not wanting to read Iron Flame because of other peoples opinion... I thought it was great, so if youre on the fence about it, please just read it. Its so good and the story gets really involved. And..... ANDARNA....
As someone that rated Iron Flame as her worst book of the year, it had to do with the repetitive dialogue, poor world building, and the writing, and underwhelming ending (though, I’ll blame booktok for hyping up the ending the way they did, I was expecting Violet to shoot rocket launchers out of her coochie by the way they were talking it up)
My favorite was Outland by Dennis E. Taylor. I listened to the audiobook narrated by Ray Porter who is an amazing voice on Audible. Six college students, studying different subjects, must deal with the fact that Yellowstone may soon emit a world-ending super volcano. This immediately became my favorite science fiction book of all time.
Ugh I am soooo afraid to pick up The Great Alone because I ADORED The Nightingale and I have such incredibly - and, I'll admit - unfairly high expecctations but she is such a beautifully talented author so I just NEED to pick it up already.
My favorite book is last year was the forest of vanishing stars by Kristen Harmel. She’s a great book Arther and of the story line I loved so much because it was really good 😊
noticed the shelf of Jackson immediately and started crying haha. Been a watcher for a long time and he was always the sweetest cat, so I can only imagine what a hard year it's been for you dealing with his loss. Its nice to see that little space there honouring him ♥️🐾
💜💜💜💜
I feel like Hailey should make a podcast. I love listening to her talk about pretty much anything 😊
I believe she has one through her patreon.
Girl, whatever makes you happy. I'm excited you will still do some bookish content, but I'll watch whatever you post. Live your best life.
Omg yay, I love that you loved Happy Place! Yes so true!! I related to her too don’t worry 😅
Was waiting for this one! Loving the cozy background xx

A separate video for self help books??? Yeeeyyyy
My favourite book I read this year was The Heart’s Invisible Furies, which has become my fav book of all time I think! Honourable mentions however to The Book Thief (finally read it this year and wow I cried so much) and Demon Copperhead (loved this book too!)
Hailey’s posts always make my day 🩷
My favorite book of 2023 was Happy Place by Emily Henry. It made me cry so much. I connected so much to Harriet, the main character.
So nice to hear from you about books again 🥰 I'm glad you had a good year and you're finding things that make you more happy. keep going!
I'm so sorry for your loss. She would be so proud of you!!!! ❤

The Wishing Game was also my favorite of 2023...it went straight to my top 10 favorite of all time!! Great list!!

I also read two of Kristin Hannah's books this year and really loved them. Hope the wishing game can translated into Chinese.😅
The Guncle sounds so good 😩
I’ve read a lot of self help books as well!
I've been waiting for this video! **
I love the great alone one of my faves in 2019! You should read firefly lane and the four winds by her think you will love ❤
Always happy to watch a new video from you! 💕
One sad thing tho: I’ve DNFd the Guncle because the writing didn’t really click with me 🥲
My top three were The Selection, Heartstopper and Book Lovers 🖤
Hailey I would love some recommendations for audiobooks. I have lots of audible credits I need to use.
My favourite book was “every star that falls” by Michael Thomas Ford. Ps. Always love seeing your dogs! And how is spudnick? (Spelling?)

“this one just feels so different” …. there is so much irony in that statement when talking about Fourth Wing XD
I would love to read Great Alone. I also read The Nightingale and I really love it. I also recommend The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah. ❤️🥰
My favorite book of 2023 was The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood or The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath ❤❤
Love your jumper
