The Halekulani's namesake cocktail is an unusual combination of tropical flavors and bourbon first served in the 1930s. In the 1950s the Halekulani had their own private stock bourbon that was bottled by Heaven Hill. Fast forward to the hotel's 100th anniversary and the Halekulani did another private bottling with Elijah Craig.

This one has been one of my absolute favorites for a while. I like to do flamed, atomized bitters on top. So good.
Just happened to have every ingredient and it's excellent! A non-Tiki drink from the islands with bourbon - love it!
Amazing! I have all the ingredients except the specific bourbon but I do have some. I'm going to try this for me and save it to try on my brother when he visits.
Commenting to boost the algorithm. As always, amazing content! 👏👏
Amaizing for a Good Timee ! I love this Bourboune! And i love Pineapple Juice!
Tried it, immediately reminded me of a Ward 8 -- similar makeup so that tracks. Good though 👍
It's a pretty nice cocktail. Demerara isn't in the original spec but I think it is a useful addition to improve the balance and mouthfeel.
I really like this drink with overproof Bourbon on crushed ice. It really helps the whiskey stand out among the fruit juice.
This one is always a hit when I make it for guests. 🍹😁👍
Straightforward cocktail with easy ingredients and an approachable recipe. Also nice for your rum or tiki nerds looking to branch out to other base spirits.
Awesome drink👍...looks so delicious🥃👍
Boubon + Tiki is right up my alley. I agree, the original Halekulani recipe could be improved. I usually modify/add with Cask Strength Bourbon, (Equal parts Demerara, Grenadine, Pineapple Syrup) and Tiki Bitters
Great video! Just letting you know the recipe is listed twice in the description. Under chapters
Thanks for letting me know!
You might want to try this with 100 proof Okolehao Hawaiian Moonshine made by Island Distillers in Honolulu for a more Hawaiian vibe. Referenced as alternative in Sippin' Safari, where Smuggler's Cove got recipe from. Can also be used to make Polynesian Paralysis and Happy Buddha found in Beachbum Berry Remixed. Made from Cane and Ti plant root. Unique, a little sweet.
Came here to say this. Okolehao is a Hawaiian original spirit, and fits this drink so much better than bourbon IMO.
I have some bacon fat washed Elijah craig leftover.. tempted to try it in this 🤔
wonder what would happen to acid adjust orange juice to be as acidic as lemon juice and go a full ounce
Man your hibiscus liqueur recipe is really confusing. When you say "add 1/2 cup of hibiscus flowers to the mix" do you mean by volume or by weight? Judging by the looks of your cup you're adding 30g of flower at most. If you add by volume then half a cup will be around 60g (125 ml) of dried flowers which is a lot! Please specify.
If you’re referring to the Smugglers Cove Hibiscus liqueur from another video that’s from the Smugglers Cove book. 1/2 cup is volume, not weight. That’s what the recipe calls for and any time a cups are called for it’s always volume and never weight.
