Thank you! You can typically find out when 425 is running on the R&N website, or you can always ask around. 425 is based out of Port Clinton PA, so she normally never goes more than 70 miles away from her home base.
Hopefully soon we will be able to hear this on actual PRR locomotives again. I know 1361 is being restored and a new T1 is being built. Also since this is the 66th comment i have to say it: I guess you can say i just... Executed comment 66? Okay that sucked.
@@joenayrikafletcher738 Was not aware of that! Very interesting. I do know however the type of locomotive that 425 is, is a G1 Pacific, which is far less powerful than the K4's. Basically a light passenger train not designed to pull more than (i think it was) 8 heavyweights. However the reading and northern overloads the max capacity for this engine, which often results in a lot of wheelslip and amazing stack talk. Especially noticeable on the fall foliage trips when they force it to climb hometown hill while pulling at least 12 heavyweights. A spectacular sight to behold!
Sounds like a Pennsy k4 bounding over horseshoe curve... great job!
I believe this whistle is originally off a K4 so it would make sense lol. Thank you!
Kurtis Hooey 1361 anybody?
@@KurtisHooeyIt Kinda sounds like PRR 5550.
I wish 765 could visit the railroad again.
Those whistles are masterpieces

Awesome! 425 is a Real Beauty! She puts on a Show! Great Video Kurt as Usually!
Thanks so much tristan! Glad you liked.
OMG!!!!! sounds so freaking awesome!
It would be awesome to see a R&N 425/SOU 630 doubleheader excursion in the future.
It would be interesting. Not sure how realistic the idea is though.
lol I loved that whistle
Same! One of 425's best
It sounds like that whistle from the t-1 trust
I wonder if the whistle came off a prr j1 or a m1 or a k4 engines
I believe this whistle came off a K4.
So awesome dude
Thank you!
@@KurtisHooey No problem 👌
That sounds kind of like a J1 mixed with a K4
Whistle sounds similar to that rare LIRR 3 chime on BRW 60 from 1991
0:11 Reading and Northern 425 blowing a Angry Eevee Whistle
I wonder if a single person (besides angus Paul) dislikes a PRR chime 3. They are the best!
Gotta love em. Thanks for watching!
Angus Paul why
Thundertrain2930 Angus Paul hates Steam Engine and wants them all scraped because he’s a hater.

Nice one Kurtis!
Thank you again mark!
TRAINMAN K you’re welcome
Wow! That’s some awesome footage! Very Nice! How do you know when 425 is running? I can never find out when or where she’s running.

@@KurtisHooey that’s still kind of a large radius
@@amtrak_121 I never said it was small, lol
The closest thing we can get PRR 1361.
For now at least!
TRAINMAN K can’t wait for 1361’s horseshoe curve excursions!
@@amtrak_121 sadly she wont be completed until.2021 😢
Joe n Ayrika Fletcher how do you know?
@@amtrak_121 well they had some stay bolt problems and have to build the broken parts from scratch
Sounds like a T1 and J1
Sure does!

This sounds just like PRR t1 whistle
It is the same type of whistle, yes
Isint 425 technically a k4?
Technically not, the K4's were quite larger than 425, as well as a larger boiler, different firebox, and built for a different railroad.
@@KurtisHooey ok I get your point. I thought the reading original Pacifics and prr and 425 had similar fireboxes
@@KurtisHooey you do know before 425 the reading had larger pacifics than 425 and they wre the readings version of a k4
