Rochester & Genesee Valley Railroad Museum Photo Freight With LA&L RS-1 #20
I've been volunteering here for about 8 months now, most of the time I obviously spend not standing behind a camera, but I finally got the chance to take some time and film the railroad in all of its switchback glory.

Reading & Northern 2102 - 50 Car Coal Train - Pushing Steam Power To It's Max
Переглядів 6 тис.2 роки тому
The Reading & Northern Railroad puts newly restored 2102 to the test as they hook it to a string of 50 hopper cars and a caboose, running from Reading to Jim Thorpe and back. Watch 2102 struggle to climb hometown hill on the return trip. This is the kind of thing people read about in old magazines from many years ago. This was an event that I thought I would never see in the modern world, yet h...

Blue Birds & Big Engines

I had my 1965 Ford thunderbird featured as a prop on the BR&W Railroad during their photo charter. A really fun and humbling experience. Thank you to the black river & western railroad and everyone else who made this charter possible.

40-50 mph winds. 6 trees had fallen on the track, making the train stop on multiple occasions. This was truly one of the more weird chases I've been on. None the less... super fun.

valley railroad 40 also has this whistle
Love the sound of that turbocharged alco 539 engine !!
Next time 425 should lead the 2102 in the future!
ALCO...yessssss
This is one of my favorite steamers.Being a model railroad 🥜nut myself, I have a replica of the🚂 2-8-2 Mikado in HO and N scale. Both of them run great. The N scale one is a "Heavy Mikado",with 6 wheel trucks.
🚂🚃the ghost train🛤 🔥
Nothing like a 539.
I've heard that Alcos idle roughly. BUT, they sure are tough! Good yard engines to kick cars with!
Sounds like something is broken... two pieces of metal slapping together.
The graffiti on that Caboose hurt to see, but it is what it is. Video was great
Ah, LA&L #20. She doesnt quite like being started cold, but is a wonderful locomotive regardless!
we have one of these at our museum that hasnt been run in ages… we are going to start working on it. i was curious to see what a 9500 cubic inch 4 stroke 6 cyl sounds like, its glorious! thanks for sharing
Honorary steam Engines
Throw it away, bad for nature! 😢 shame on you.
Only if you take something actually damaging like every single interstate highway along with it. Then we might actually see a difference
Get rid of private jets first.
Shut up

Like soviet locomotive TEM-2👍
Great video Kurtis, well done!
One by one, worn out cylinders, fed by dribbling injectors, come to life again...maybe. The Buchi-Elliot turbo helps as much as it can.
The horn is off but a great looking train!
Outstanding camerawork ! Very nice shots with an eye for details. Perfect video.
Boy can she sing!!! That whistle gives me goosebumps..thats just the way a steam engine is supposed to sound. Its like im listening to living history .
😂 huffing and puffing
Is it a narrow gauge?
It is not
Thank you for sharing. I believe they just donated this unit?
This locomotive was donated about 10 years ago. You are probably thinking about the other Alco, which is very similar that was donated a few months ago.
imagine the car got hit....
Cool looking inside the beast😊
Ни одна корова за всю жизнь столько не напердит
Me when I hear these whistles 😫
Its also my Local Railroad too, I Love the B&H aswell over 150 years old for the road and to my knowledge its still around me and my grandfather are heading up there in a few weeks how can I get a cab ride if possible similar to what u had maybe? but keep up the good work!
Always worth asking
@@KurtisHooey Thank you!
That's an old engine, what with the firebox between the frames. Probably had slide valves originally.
I love the sound of the Buchi turbocharger! It sounds like a canary in the engine.
Reminds me heavily of english electrics

I wish 765 could visit the railroad again.
Alco's kick ass!🚂,1:06
What Trainz version is this?
yes ok
Delivered to the Chicago and Western Indiana, sold to Genesee & Wyoming in 1971 to Eastman Kodak (probably Eastman Chemical/Kingsport TN) before ending up here.
Is this narrow gauge or standard gauge??
Standard
@@KurtisHooey Everett railroad too right?
@alternative890 this is a video of the Everett railroad. It is all standard gauge
@@KurtisHooey oh wow I knew it was the Everett Railroad just wanted to make sure.
Like that cap engineer is wearing. Like to have one. Cool video 😊
I believe it's from LaRose Hat Co.
One day Steamtown will eventually have another engine running
At 3:42 you can see me just to the right of 611! This photo charter was my first time seeing her, and I still look back on it fondly.
Absolutely beautiful video.
Really fun video ! I like the reversal loop and Nadia too. Nice to run your trains outside. I may do that too !
Whistle Port jervis. Trip in 1986.
That leaky throttle tube doesn't look great.
Love the sound of that 6 Chime
Sweet footage thanks for posting!
The rain really enhanced this video. Not enough people film when its pissing rain! Also why is there a high line and low line?
high line is the railroad museum, low line is active right of way
My son loves trains 🚆🚋🚞🚝🚊🚉🚈🚇🚅🚄🚃🚂🛤 especially railcars like those he thinks they are highly underrated and they should be preserved, restored and put back into service. He also thinks that Siemens, Progress Rail, or any other company that builds railroad equipment should build copies of RDC's and the departments of transportation should put them to work on lines that don't get rail service anymore carrying passengers and mail.
My son really likes trains especially Alco's like that one. He says many people like them because they are not as common and are built real rugged.
