Many people don't seems to notice that they are actually singing in one semitone higher than the original version.

Yea, everyone just says it sounds exactly like the original mostly😑. There are some key differences like the one you mentioned first of all, then second of all of course it sounds different because there are different/more people singing it then the original almost in a quartet, or rather, seplet type of way. Also, it wasn't exactly supposed to sound starchly different from the original because they were trying to pay homage to the original and keep the same atmosphere. It'd be a little weird if they did too much extra and practically turned it into their own song if that was their intention. Not saying he said all that just saying a lot of people do when they watch this for some reason🤐

What impresses me the most in this performance is actually the fact that all three *rappers* are singing the lower harmonies. I was floored when i saw that, especially for RM and Suga (j-hope has sung before and i personally love his tone).
We've always known they could get by, especially since they sing the guides for the songs they compose and sometimes goof around behind the scenes, but they've never been confident enough to actually do it on camera, and for such an important performance as this... Really amazed me

@@OutroBusan Yep i know, but i don't think it's the same as singing a ballad, live, with no backing track, and especially on MTV Unplugged, which is really well known and will reach a whole new audience, not just ARMY. It has to be nervewracking...
I summarized a bit, but I wasn't trying to undermine their skills, just highlight how much out of their comfort zone it was, and how flawlessly they executed it :)

The rappers' vocals are so underrated (and I pretty much mean by the rappers themselves) J-Hope has been a subvocalist for a long time. And we've known about RM's vocal abilities for some time now, even though he's downplayed it. Suga has surprised me the most recently (vocally) We thought he had ability, but then he released seesaw (the same time the other rappers released songs in the trivia series that showed off their vocal abilities (love, just dance) ) Then he took vocal lessons, released shadow for mots7, and all the vocals he did on his D2 mixtape (people being my favorite) suga has come a long way vocally. (No disrespect to RM & Hobi, I just think they were already good but lacked confidence) And lacking confidence could have been some of Suga's initial problems too.
Taehyung’s voice needs more appreciation usually fans only focus on his looks but he can do all and he’s also an amazing dancer

Interesting story: in one of their concerts behind the scenes, member J-hope talks to Jungkook about the ill effects of giving 100% on the stage and how it's going to tire one out. He says instead of giving a 100% they need to learn to give maybe 70-80% but make it look as if they're giving their 100% and that is how one can be not only a good performer but also a long term performer
this pertained to dancing and singing, not just singing...

all the vocalists are wonderful, but like you, i love v's warm and soulful voice the most. it just touches my heart.
All of the vocal line shines with their own vocal qualities... But their is something on Taehyung's voice that calms me and made me want to listen more... I am waiting for his mixtape to be release because i just can't get enough of him... He is the first singer that i would never get tired listenning...

What you said at the end was wonderful it’s true even if at first listen you don’t think BTS is your bag, before judging ppl should at least be curious to try and understand why they’re so beloved in the USA and across the entire world and especially because in countries that do not speak Korean. There must be reason beyond just ‘boy band stereotype’ which they’ll find completely false narrative by media to suppress BTS’ achievements as musicians, producers, performers and artists (god forbid a ‘non-western’ and POC group show us up, be better than us blah blah blah)! and I think musicians especially should want to discover why that is and possibly even help improve their approach to music and creating art in the future.
We found out that Chris Martin was in Seoul meeting with BTS. Did they collab? We don't know. Did they have lunch? We don't know. All we know is that they met.
I would love it if the collab! Coldplay and BTS are my 2 favourite groups of all time too!

The group works the best when they're singing together. And I love them all as an individual singers too. I mean, there's no way you can't appreciate them as individuals and as a group. They're just awesome and young talented 7 men.
I loved the harmonizing between vocal and rap line.... My favorit moment is Suga and Jin (black and pink mics) moment, and RM sound so great with his deep voice harmonizing with the vocal line (blue mic) :) Love the original and adore this cover 💜💜💜
People do not give Suga enough credit in that moment he went up in low pitch to match Jin if you just single his voice out in that moment it’s beautiful I know he can sing but I didn’t know he could go that high, well high for him it was just beautifully matched I loved that moment too.

"Taehyung bring you home"... never well said, this is what I feel everytime I hear him singing, his voice is so unique, pureo soft but strong, raspy and sweet I cant relate... it is amazing, he is my favorite too, the rich baritone. Thanks so much for your kind words, Taehyung isnt appreciatte by his unique voice frecuently most for his visuals and perfect presence, but he is indeed the best singer for me, and even the best performer, cause you can know what he wants we to feel... he is this amazing!!

Yes I agree Taehyung's vocals has that quality that brings you home. His voice is so soulful you really feel something when he sings. Its calming, soothing and healing especially his self composed aongs.

Each memeber has a distinct quality that enriches the song in making it as a whole. As a group they blend very well making it sound more surreal than it is before. They performed very well and low at that. They can make it seem easy and simple as you said but the way they control their voice ranges is very exceptional. I’ve listened to this performance a lot of times and it still gives me the goosebumps. It sounds so heavenly and with you, ( as well as other voice coaches who have given their own reactions) all of you makes us understand more of how BTS brings their songs to life and touching us with their messages with their lyrics. I was impressed by RM, Suga and Jimin's vocals in this performance. they all did amazing but those stood out.
You should definitely check out Your Eyes Tell live, which was written as the official soundtrack of a Japanese movie.... the vocals are insane!

Just yesterday i had a fight with a dude who said that there are nothing special about bts songs and they are all easy to sing. Also said that all kpop idols uses autotune. I said that bts doesn't need autotune n we have ample evidence from amateur videos. He said autotune can also be added to those. I then said so how do u autotune a livestream impromptu singing witnessed by 21 million people? I was referring to jk's vlive. He has no answer to that but bottomline is he doesn't think bts has talent n his views not gonna change. The very definition of prejudice. Well whatever. He is just a poor sod while bts are laughing all the way to the bank with my full support.

I love all the vocalists in BTS but yeah Taehyung is my favorite because his voice is unique and adds a whole different rich and thick layer among the rest who are tenors. Thank you for appreciating it as someone who understands vocals because in general people tend to overlook his vocal abilities. Their songs in general are sung on a higher key which he still adapts to well because he has such a wide range as you saw in Stigma. His solo songs highlight his natural baritone. I think Jungkook is perfect as a main singer to build around. The others come in to add different vocal elements and to harmonize perfectly when a song calls for it. Another solo V song I recommend you to react to is Snowflower. ForJimin please react to Serendipity, For Jin I would suggest Epiphany. I’m really enjoying your channel!
