@Eva G if u ever have the chance to go, it’s worth every penny. They keep The energy and emotion going for almost 3 hours and army sings along collectively to every song. It’s really amazing. Never been to any other concert or event like it. Feels like it’s cozy and close when it’s huge and chaotic.🤣💜

@ Eva G I had been holding on to my tickets from 2020 but then the tour just got cancelled again so we will be starting over. It’s like hunger games to get tickets as they sell out really really fast no matter where they go. Personally as albums go- Map of the soul 7 & love yourself tear are my favorites, but they are all great. My daughter (15yrs old) and I (44) have been army for a couple years, her before me- she opened my eyes to them. And seeing them live together was amazing. Good luck, I hope you do get the chance to see them!!

I would never imagine that I would be listening to music from other languages that I didn't understand, Today I memorized most BTS music lyrics in korea from listening so much, I did it more because of the members, all the time they appear on my screen the smile doesn't get out of my face it even hurts my cheek. hahaha
For me it was reverse. I saw V in Hwarang, then saw his videos. Found him so adorable and in the process discovered the others and their personalities and then went on to hear their songs. But yes it is the genuiness of these boys made me an ARMY.

The message of Epiphany is so pure and powerful that it doesn't need any vocal acrobatics. The song resonates to me and I hold on to this song every time I doubt myself.. Its simplicity makes it easy for me to sing it or rather tell the message to myself..... Jin is the icon of positivity and I think he's the best person to sing Epiphany. For this reason, he gave a genuine and honest performance and that makes it more effective in conveying the message of the song.
Jin is often overlooked by reactors but he does have an amazing voice! The song that showcases his range the best would probably be Dionysus. He's doing both lower notes and higher notes in that song. A lot of people get it wrong and say that Jk is the one doing the right note at the end but it's actually Jin!

I always felt that FIRE brought me to BTS but Epiphany made me stay. I can't love anyone else with my wholeheart, until I learned to love myself. I saw Jin perform Epiphany live in concert at the RoseBowl and it was a master piece. Each song is staged Beautifully and I felt my heart swell and my eyes teared up as I sang along I'm the one I should love.

Epiphany truly is an experience! I remember how it felt so powerful, like it was a spiritual experience of affirmation.. A stadium full of voices joining Jin's singing "I'm the one I should love in this world". It's like you feel this will to be kinder to yourself, more accepting and understanding, alongside tens of thousands of ARMYs. And embraced within this sense of communion, you find it in yourself to trust that this is a journey we can get through. It's incredible how music can move you. In the BTS Universe, I interpret it as Jin saying he can't save everyone on his own and slowly needs to accept that he isn't perfect and he can't fix the past with only his soul. But it is a healing song about how he is capable of self love and needs to do so.

Seokjin had acting vocal training before he learned singing. His voice teacher talked about it. He is a good actor in general and I think that's what comes across in his singing. Like you said, he is trying to tell a story.

BTS is all about loving yourself and Jin especially preaches it, his members have said how he’s taught them to be happy and more comfortable with themselves. There are many singers with different vocal techniques, tones and genres. For me Jin's voice is simple, pure and full of emotion. Not to mention, his superb highnote and beautiful falsetto. yes, his voice is a story-teller. all bts voices are beautiful. thus, my favorite is jin's cos whenever he sings, it hits me differently - so raw and honest, and makes me feel emotions i thought i forgot. i've heard this live twice... i couldn't help but cry. it was so otherworldly. his voice... his voice omg. the wonderful leader of bts, rm, wrote this song and they all knew jin was the one who was meant to sing it - to bring it to life.
The person that trained him vocally in the UA said Jin didn't know a lot on how to properly sin, but in 3 years the person said Jin was so devoted it didn't just change/improve his voice. The coach said he evolved it beyond anything he expected because of his determination and I find that beautiful. He worked so hard to become as amazing as he is now and still climbs the latter every day. Jin has been through so much in his life and career that seeing people acknowledge it warms my heart. BTS is also the advocate for self love and suicide awareness so a lot of their materials are based around that relation. Jin had one of the most relative parts in his journey to self love and it's an inspiration his story.

He was chosen strictly for his good looks and had never sang (or danced) before joining the group as the oldest so did not start any training until he was nearly 20. Jin felt as if he was not contributing enough and worked very hard to 'catch up' with his talented younger members (worked many extra hours while always taking care of the younger members rather than taking advantages of the special privilege age is given in Korean culture) This song, Ephiphony, reflects his own journey of learning to feel good about himself, of learning to love himself.

This song is perfect for Jin(although he had ALWAYS been my bias singer in the group) because he wws chosen for his looks. He was criticized for his ability to dance, and sing. So many people just didn't see the potenital he had. And to see him sing to this caliber you can tell how much he has practiced over the years to get to where he is today. It is interesting that you discuss Jin's voice in comparison to Jimin and V. When Jin joined BTS he didn't sing or dance. He learnt to sing from scratch so that he wouldn't drag his bandmates down. Imagine learning to sing among those other stars, he was so brave and determined, and now we can enjoy his achievement. His song awake tells about his aspiration to perform better, that he might never fly. He is flying now !! What is the epiphany? He realised he must love himself before others will love him.
In my personal taste I prefer the Jin blonde perfomance, even the purple one. This one has too much noises of the fans. The song moon its one most upbeat and show more diversity and don't block him in ballads.

You cannot deny that this particular song does “speak” the emotions to the listeners despite the language barrier, I knew that sincerity comes from Jin himself since he struggled and struggles with self worth issues and successfully overcomes them again and again, but I never thought about the possibility of his singing technique/style making it easier to relate. Epiphany is on the third Love Yourself album, LY: Answer. The first is LY:Her which talks about fated love with the title track DNA (our love is in our DNA) and Jimin’s solo Serendipity. The second is LY: Tear where that perfect fated love is torn apart. Title track Fake Love and V’s solo Singularity. The third, LY: Answer is telling us the answer to finding love. The title track is Idol and Jon’s solo Epiphany. The answer is that before you can love others, you must learn to love yourself.
This is one of my utter favorites. The production is done so well. It feels like it fit Jin superbly. Thanks for your breakdown.
Yeah, BTS not only talks about self-love, but all issues we relate to.. that's why we feel so connected with them.. they literally help people through the struggles and people who are learning about themselves

But he has resigned to not seeing his own worth but just repeating "I'm the one I should love" Hoping it would would actually mean something at one point..

yes, his voice is a story-teller. all bts voices are beautiful. thus, my favorite is jin's cos whenever he sings, it hits me differently - so raw and honest, and makes me feel emotions i thought i forgot. i've heard this live twice... i couldn't help but cry. it was so otherworldly. his voice... his voice omg.
the wonderful leader of bts, rm, wrote this song and they all knew jin was the one who was meant to sing it - to bring it to life.

The person that trained him vocally in the UA said Jin didn't know a lot on how to properly sin, but in 3 years the person said Jin was so devoted it didn't just change/improve his voice. The coach said he evolved it beyond anything he expected because of his determination and I find that beautiful. He worked so hard to become as amazing as he is now and still climbs the latter every day. Jin has been through so much in his life and career that seeing people acknowledge it warms my heart. BTS is also the advocate for self love and suicide awareness so a lot of their materials are based around that relation. Jin had one of the most relative parts in his journey to self love and it's an inspiration his story.

Jin's voice, like the other members, is beautiful and unique. He was chosen strictly for his good looks and had never sang (or danced) before joining the group as the oldest so did not start any training until he was nearly 20. Jin felt as if he was not contributing enough and worked very hard to 'catch up' with his talented younger members (worked many extra hours while always taking care of the younger members rather than taking advantages of the special privilege age is given in Korean culture) This song, Ephiphony, reflects his own journey of learning to feel good about himself, of learning to love himself.

This song is perfect for Jin(although he had ALWAYS been my bias singer in the group) because he wws chosen for his looks. He was criticized for his ability to dance, and sing. So many people just didn't see the potenital he had. And to see him sing to this caliber you can tell how much he has practiced over the years to get to where he is today. I feel like this song shows his journey throughout his musical career as a bts member. Thank you jin for singing us such a beautiful song

It is interesting that you discuss Jin's voice in comparison to Jimin and V. When Jin joined BTS he didn't sing or dance. He learnt to sing from scratch so that he wouldn't drag his bandmates down. Imagine learning to sing among those other stars, he was so brave and determined, and now we can enjoy his achievement.
His song awake tells about his aspiration to perform better, that he might never fly.

In my personal taste I prefer the Jin blonde perfomance, even the purple one. This one has too much noises of the fans. The song moon its one most upbeat and show more diversity and don't block him in ballads.

Thank you so much for uploading and sharing this review with us. Epiphany is one of the most “felt” songs among bts listeners and the point about “vocal empathy” explains this phenomenon a bit. You cannot deny that this particular song does “speak” the emotions to the listeners despite the language barrier, I knew that sincerity comes from Jin himself since he struggled and struggles with self worth issues and successfully overcomes them again and again, but I never thought about the possibility of his singing technique/style making it easier to relate. This song truly was made for him to sing and promote this beautiful feeling of epiphany. Thank you again for sharing

Some theories say that lyric content is loosely realted like - "he had something to learn, before he could enjoy his successes.." but that is just one theory among many.
The other guys tease Jin for having that same dramatic stare for every performance. It's just a callback to the MV which is connected to his character in the Bangtan Universe. The BU Jin does a lot of desperate staring into the ether.

I think Jen was going for a sexy look, not dead eyes😄. I really love this song. I think like Jin sings, that you hide yourself along the way to fit in or be more acceptable, name it, and sometimes it’s a situation or something/someone else that reminds you that you also have value. The lyrics may be simple but they are powerful.
