@87TheProdigy87 Ive seen more than half of his films (directing and starring) and so far battle royale is my favorute. I still need to see violent cop and a thew others but so far my favorute is battle royale with Zatoichi coming in at a close second.
"it counts as a takeshi kitano film" But it does not :o. It's not a film of Takeshi Kitano. It's just a film in which he starred. He did not write the story, did he? Anyway, it doesn't matter - Takeshi Kitano is a pure genius and nothing will change it.
I don't get the hate he sometimes get for "having few expressions" and supposedly making him a bad actor, do you have to jump around like a hyperactive clown squeezing as many expressions as humanly possible throughout the movie? Have these haters seen Hanabi? He hardly speaks there yet the movie is rich with expression.
im at 1:47 and almost everything they said was bs, Kitano didn't influence Tarantino none of his movies are even similar Kitano also said that he doesn't like Tarantino's violence and they're unrealistic also he made Violent Cop in late 80's.
how is kitano's work and tarantino's work mostley populair because of the violance..? Tarantino, maybe.. Especialy kill bill.. But Takeshi is a nihilistic film maker.. The violance is hardly shocking..
Takeshi Kitano gave volgar culture Japanese people and Japanese people were given volgar culture by Takeshi Kitano . I have ever seen his movie a few times and I thought that his movie was very volgar and his movie is almost violence movie . So I really hate his movie . So I won`t watch his movie . I think that Takeshi Kitano is very barbarian and volgar .
I have ever seen his movie a few times and I thought that his movie is very volgar movie . To speak frankly , He is a very volgar person . No one can deny that fact .
Kitano is a legend...I find his movies very interesting to watch
Takeshi Kitano is the best. He is an great artist of the world. He is pure
magic
For those who aren't familiar, the track starting at 00:39 is Tommib by Squarepusher. It was previously used in Lost In Translation.
Two of the best modern filmmakers ever
Sonatine is an amazing film. It's amazing to discover asian cinema and I have so much left to watch.
Kitano is one of the greats.Miike also.
Tommib by Squarepusher. It was from The Lost In Translation OST, so that is why they probably put it on this excerpt.
best director ever.
All in Asia know him
He is our star
sonatine is a great movie
Takeshi Kitano is GOD
Sonatine is my favourite. The scene at the end is Tarantino and Michael Mann.
takeshi kitano is the best.

He has a lot talent I bet he has high IQ, his 2 beats comedy talk so fast and funny
shes wearing seethrough :o
I bet when Kitano saw somebody whispering in the audience, he threw a knife straight to the forehead.

@batatshi I never said he directed it but he did star in the film so it counts as a takeshi kitano film.

I love Hina-bi! Have yet to check out his other films though I've been real busy with college. Any recommendations?
John Everette I love sonatine. Did you ever get round to it

Is it from any of Kitanos movie? I can't remember this tune. Damn.
Isn't the Scooter accident an attempted suicide?
And he wasn't fired from the college, he went away from it.

@mrmannoobs that comment shows me that you have seen very little of kitanos movies, battle royal is good but no where near his best, no where near

Yeah, it seems like it was an arbitrary decision. This segment is really one sided and skewed anyways.

Tarantino, maybe.. Especialy kill bill.. But Takeshi is a nihilistic film maker.. The violance is hardly shocking..
i mean the non-soundtrack stuff

Ginny Brown what movie? I saw Sonatine and that was a fun, chill out movie for me. Hana-Bi I didn't like at all.
You are incapable of understanding art, you're vulgar, mediocre and useless
なんで武って海外で有名なん?映画がちょくちょくヒットするらしいけどそんな記録に残るほど興行収入なかったような気がするんやけど。
terrible butchering of history...
