When the members are going down, they are being shot by the negative comments, people who want to bring them down. Not only the members get shot down, but everyone in black garb as well. Then when they come back, we see the members in front of the people in black garb in reference to shield them as they are 'bullet proof' and ARMY will back them. When they lock arms at the end, it is in defense that they will protect themselves as well as the ARMY and what they dream for.
