This honesty in this video should be watch by each and every Rwandan. Exactly the way you see Kigali is the same way I see But we're not a developed country we're a developing country Thanks for your visit and welcome back
@kagabopaul3126 No it shouldn't it's pure propaganda🤦🏿♂️ why would she think Rwanda is like Switzerland or Japan? Rwanda is a poor country doing it's best. She has the nerve to say the gen o cide museum information is propaganda and she recorded inside which you should not do🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️. I live in Canada and I've never felt so safe in my life than when I was in Kigali in June. The power never went off when I was there and I even went to the poorer side of town which was also relatively clean. This video reeks of privilege and condemnation.
There are many things to visit here depending on the visitor’s particular interests. In your case you found that one of the _“Five unique things to do in Nebraska”_ is to see buffet’s previous home. In this same line in Rwanda you can see the king’s former palace, the 1st colonizer’s residence, and so on. Plus there are big farmer’s markets too. And don’t forget several picturesque urban parks, especially in the city of Kigali. Different from “Stinson Park” in Omaha NE for sure but that’s their uniqueness.
thanks for the visit, Im Rwandan and i do appreciate the bitter truth you pointed out, I hope the authorities in charge take note & use ur experience as motivation, because it seems most of em are deluded & tend to think Rwanda is paradise when for the average citizen its a daily struggle
Compliments and complaints *Compliments:* 0:46 the “air bnb” is such a great deal and is adorable. Many complimentary items, appliances and facilities included (bottled water, juice, milk, coffee, toaster, blender, coffeemaker, air conditioning, two bathrooms, two bedrooms, washing machine, ironing board, closet space, fan) 8:56 Kigali heights mall has a little bit of everything, even flat-screen TVs, a pretty nice bookstore 9:26 the soup at Java café is really good, really delicious 10:00 efficient service at the bank 10:08 central city square is a really nice area 10:19 look how clean the streets are 10:22 the Simba supermarket is kinda cute 11:40 the Tropical plaza mall has a really nice little restaurant 11:47 the manicure was such a nice job on her nails 13:58 had so much fun so far in Kigali, but you only need a couple of days here, not a week or two weeks 14:09 it’s such a nice country 14:58 the capital city and the country are really safe, but people still take precaution by fencing in their homes 15:36 the paved roads do seem to be pretty clean 15:48 there’s still trash along the roads but it’s a lot better than most [other countries] 17:29 the coffee at the inka steakhouse is really good, not as sour as anticipated *Complaints:* 2:22 Volkswagen’s Move car service is a kind of hit-or-miss 2:46 the traffic is so bad 2:58 there is actually not much touristy stuff to go and do in Kigali 6:26 visit to Gisozi genocide memorial [good and bad things not detailed here, but would recommend also a visit to the Nyanza Memorial in Kigali v=ZKyNB6dz1WU ] 11:26 everyone has to wash their hands to enter the Tropical plaza mall, but what would really be awesome is if they made everyone use deodorant as well 11:43 offered a complimentary milkshake to the lady doing her [Emily’s] eyelashes, but two weeks later the glued-on false lashes were incredibly painful; was a really, really, bad idea; it’s been one of the most painful experiences of her life 14:23 no need to visit gorillas or wetlands or national parks if you’ve done it in Uganda as the same things are available there: Same gorillas, same vegetation 15:24 not all the roads are paved 15:28 you still see garbage on dirt paths 16:31 rwanda is not so clean after all once you get into the residential areas and away from the main streets; there’s just as much trash as there’s in any other country in Africa 17:54 the steak at the steakhouse is not that good 17:57 ordered a fillet mignon, instead got some other kind of cut, some kind of skirt steak, but still charged for a fillet mignon 18:29 do not recommend inka steakhouse; the coffee machine was broken 19:15 haven’t been that impressed with Rwanda 19:41 the way to not have trash is to just not litter, like japan or switzerland; it’s not to constantly have a trash pick-up every single week or every single day 20:27 the power just went out
I’m glad you were honest and didn’t try to sugarcoat the things you were not satisfied with. I’ve been living in Kigali for almost two years. People saying power doesn’t go out. Yes, it does. It has happened many times to me. Yes, there are many neighborhoods that are not as developed as others. Even though they built a new road in my area, the street in front of my house is still dirt road. Food is ok here. Nothing to rave about for me. Unless there are events happening, she’s right there isn’t much to do here. There are taxis but it’s pricey and their apps don’t work. I have a system of sending them WhatsApp messages or calling directly to request a cab. There are many other observations I have made during my time in Kigali. I just wanted to touch on the things she mentioned in the video.
yeah, there is trush there in the sewage and valleys... it is under renovations to be eco-friendly... Rwanda is not a developed country....it is developing country and will take time to be like Switzerland
This video has given me a good idea of the travel experience in Rwanda. It is enlightening to do the things a local might do. Sorry about the eye lashes. The knowledge you have is superb. I noted you were able to weed out the biases in the information. Keep up the good work Emily.

Emily thank you for visiting my motherland, Rwanda is rebuilding itself, it's is not a developped country, of course all roads are not paved, yes you will find trash in any construction site worldwide, no need of nitpicking. There are many things you can still do in Kigali you need to be guided, sorry for the steak!

@@EscapewithEmily11I think Emily you have to be honest with yourself. I'm trying to discern your motives of your visit to Rwanda. The way I listen , your motive is not pure. You seem negative. Two days are not enough to know the place. Pride is in your eyes , sorry to say that. You should know where this country comes from and where is now. Please try to learn before releasing anything from your mouth or from your heart. Be positive. Learn to encourage those who are fighting for their tomorrow's way like our african countries. I see you young , very young , please humility , kindness , encouragement , .... these kind of virtues are things people want to to hear. You have just chosen your way to shoot this video but inside you you know how clean is Rwanda , Kigali but your wrong motive has lead you to that and you know why you do it. My request is : May God change your heart and motives (wrong) , change your attitude that will help you , not only you but all of us. Let's learn to be good communicator , encourage others.
