Very helpful! But is it the same technique for letters? Because I never have a nice clean stamp on my metal because you know it's light and easy to fold ...
Hi Léa. Any time you have a larger stamp, it can be harder to get a clean impression. That's true even if the stamp is a letter. So if you have a big letter stamp that isn't leaving a good impression, you can try this method. I'm not sure what you mean about folding though. What kind of metal are you stamping on?
This metal (sorry the website is in french but you can look at the picture) la-petite-epicerie.fr/fr/support-a-graver/11111-plaque-a-frapper-tige-dore.html It twists very easily and at each end of the bracelet it hurts because of the edge I don't know if you see what I mean. I would like something more solid and adapted for the wrists, but all I could find is in silver and not gold and copper like I would...
Léa Yes that looks really sharp on the ends! I would suggest searching for "copper bracelet blank" or "gold filled bracelet blank." I see a lot of selection for those on Etsy, but if you're not able to purchase from that website, maybe there will be a supplier near you. A bracelet blank will be made for stamping on, and will be a little more sturdy. They usually have rounded ends so they won't scratch.
Hi there! I use so many different brands! Most of my collection are from beaducation.com and some of them are from Etsy.com But there's a european brand that I love - the name is Little Freckle. Here's the link: www.littlefreckle.co.uk/ Hope that helps!
justbehealthy I personally use mostly aluminum, and some brass and copper. I'm not a huge fan of the copper because it tarnishes quickly and I don't like the smell of it. :) I love the look of it though. If you're looking for sterling silver, there's a shop on Etsy called "Bopper" and I've heard really good things about their blanks. Riogrande.com sells sterling by the sheet, and they have a scrap buy-back program if you mess up on a piece. Until recently, because I was working in small quantities, I purchased all of my blanks from "The Supply Guy" on Etsy. His blanks are 20 gauge, and come already tumbled. Currently, I'm working in slightly larger amounts and I'm trying out thicker aluminum. I get my regular shaped blanks from "Blank That" on Etsy. Their blanks are 14 gauge, which is quite a bit thicker. They come with a pvc coating, which I peel off, and then I tumble them myself. My custom shaped blanks that I design come from "Birds Eye Blanks" and they're also on Etsy. They'll cut any shape I draw up for them, on 14 gauge or 18 gauge aluminum. They also sell regular shaped blanks, but you'll need to send them a convo on Etsy and ask about them. All of the sellers I've listed here that I've purchased from have been fantastic to work with, and I talk about some of them a little more in my video about supplies. ⚒
Silver is considered a soft metal, so you should be safe using any stamps on it. Aluminum, copper, brass, pewter, and silver are all safe for pretty much any stamp. Stainless steel is what you'll want to watch out with. Harder metals need stamps that are specifically rated for stainless. Most stamps from the craft store are only rated for soft metals like silver etc. If you're purchasing from someone on Etsy, or from a stamp maker, they will usually include in the description of the stamps are rated for hard or soft metals. And any stamp that's safe for hard metals is safe for soft metals too.
this makes sense

Also look for metal that is between 14 gauge and 18 gauge thick, or it will just be too thin and bendy for a bracelet.
I tried searching for the metal stamp but i must have misspelled. Can you share the European brand of metal stamps you use. Thank you. Nice video.

Make It Kate thank you so very much. 💗CTR
do you use special stamps for silver
