Finally some place that makes sense to stick patches... all my overlanding non KL bud's couldn't tell me where to stick the damn things... ive got one on each side inside the OS handles...
That fabric is super soft, and if you pull a patch off it starts to pull apart. Its not really designed for much velcro use, but it works okay if you don't plan to move the patches around.
No option for under on the KL. And because i went as big as i can fit on the vehicle, it no longer fit in the regular in-floor position. (no, i don't know what the maximum that fits in the floor is) Though some like to put it on the roof, which i don't understand because it further increases the chance of flopping over while doing anything tippy.
Fearless Trailhawk I've got an old xj. They have the spare in the back as well. I was looking into put it on the roof. But not sure if I like the idea of being top heavy.
Hi, really appreciate you for the videos. can you do a updated walk-around your Jeep. Please concentrate more on suspension, lift and tires. Any website links if possible. Thoughts on Any spacers?? I recently got a 19 trailhalk.
This is the most up to date walk around i can have. Nothing has changed since this video except for a few more scratches and a couple dents. All the specifics on what is installed are listed in the description of each video.
@@FearlessTrailhawk came back to look at how you had it set up as I'm debating about doing a roof rack or this. Since I'm on a 2019 and it's a little diffrent I might be able to do two hook points and maybe ratchet strap it down.
@@FearlessTrailhawk You have the Elite right? I don't have a speaker there so I might have more options of where I can bolt things in and such. Sorry meant to comment back on this ages ago lol. Finally got my rock sliders in so will be installing them this weekend and I have my springs and struts too...going to be a busy hot weekend but I had the tire out and was looking at it a bit and trying to think of a little better way to rig it up. Maybe going off the tie down points we have back there since they can be easily screwed out.
great video, I have a 2015 TH and have built a front brush-bar/winch-mount that doesn't require bumper removal. The winch is easily installed and removed from the mount and the whole assembly itself is easy install and removal. I'm in the early stages of testing for any possible issues and so far so good. I can send some images of the set-up if you have e-mail. Would value your input. Tim.
Hello! Looks like you are using the usual hi-lift off-road jack to change tire. Have you had any experience with those low pressure off-road exhaust air jack? They push a big surface under the car using exhaust gas. This could damage conventional cars, bending bit and pieces you are not supposed to push on. The question is whether the trailhawk has sufficient and strong enough skid plates to deal with such operation. Probably yours can, but yours is seriously beefed up: rockrail, additional skid plates etc ... I own a stock 2017 Cherokee trailhawk. Anyhow I would be interested to get your opinion on the matter. Many thanks for those videos and thank you in advance for your opinion. Best.
Negative. I see the utility they provide, but personally i'm just not a fan. They wouldn't damage most cars as they spread the weight out alot while lifting, which is why it works with the relatively low pressure. (unless you picked really bad places to use to lift from)
Great videos. Can you please give me some advice, People are saying that the 2019 front wheel wells are smaller than 2018 down. If this is the case, how did you get 32" tires to fit. I know 2" lift but how much of the wheel well liner and pinch weld did you have to cut out. Thanks for info or recommendations you could give me. Thanks again.
I had to cut as much as needed until it fit. And that is the only answer i can give you. Every vehicle is slightly different, hell i had to trim vastly different amounts between driver and passenger sides.
Hey Fearless, love your videos hope you might be able to answer a question to help me out. I want to get the same rockrails you have however under "super sliders" on their website I only see Cherokee 1984 and up, would these be the correct ones for a TH? I see the normal sliders have a model specifically for "Cherokee KL". Could you maybe let me know specifically which ones you are using, as well as the additional bracket I would need to buy that I saw you mention to prevent mud from getting up into it like I saw on a comment here? I don't really have the ability to fabricate one myself. I did not see it on the page of all the rails but maybe I am missing something.
www.rocky-road.com/jeep-cherokee-kl-rock-sliders.html At the bottom they have drop downs to select the style you want. SuperSliders is on, then below that is the 'rocker cover' which is the part thing that covers that gap to prevent lots of crap from getting up under the doors. (you'll still get some, but mostly watery stuff, not chunky) I probly spent more trying to fab something than i would have just buying the panels.
@@FearlessTrailhawk thanks a lot for the reply, I actually just found that page this morning. I was looking under the general rock rails page with drop downs for all different makes and models of cars not the KL specific page. I look forward to getting these soon when I can afford them and looking into doing the mfc 2" lift as well.
Cheapest and easiest 'solution' is to get a 6' section of that foam pipe insultation from the plumbing department and stuff it in the gap. Or purchase the little plates that RockRoad offers with their rails. Or like i did, cut your own plate to size and weld (or otherwise affix) it in between that gap.
The goal was to pair the Dobs with HS to get 2", so according to the specs from Dobs (1.25" front and 1" rear) i needed a .75" front collar, and 1" rear spacer. Only HS was willing to send me just what i wanted. After getting apparently weak front springs, this spring i swapped them with Dob's stiffer springs, which rose the front up to 2.5-3" total.
If you indeed got the stiffer fronts, you shouldn't need anything else. I'm on the fence of maybe taking my HS spacers out just to keep CV and other part wear to a minimum.
Fearless Trailhawk parts come in this week, I’ll get it installed next. Let you know how it turns out. Next up, deciding if I want to mod the pinch welds for 265s.
I like them enough to get a second set once these ones wear out. Which at this rate might be another year or two (switching with daily driver tires when not wheeling often). After that we'll see what they have engineered by then...
I think you went a little bit far on mods (more personalization than mods btw). I u need to sell it, who is gonna buy this 1 year old cherokee all fucked up ?
Lift, tires, rock rails, functional lights are a 'little far' and just 'personalization'? Everything shown in this video is 100% there for a function. As i wheel the piss out of this thing, day AND night. Front CV's and winch bumper are the only other things i can/want to do. But thats why this is my Jeep and not yours, so it is set up how i want it. Only time i'd sell this to is either insurance if it got totaled, or even less likely to a dealership as a trade-in.

Nice, I actually had the factory rock sliders installed on my 18. Love em.
I love the spare tire mount. It's kinda nice to have it in the vehicle, opposed to under the vehicle. That would cause some grown clearance issues.

I just love that your cargo area is messy as hell :)
Yeah, just just kinda lives where ever it landed last. It all still fits and i know, mostly, what i have back there so finding stuff isn't terrible.
So much storage in the KL... I’m a little jealous!
Trust me the storage is horrible haha
Great job! I'd add a folding Silky Saw to the mix.
The machete has a hacksaw backside. Plus i always carry my chainsaw on rides.
Very good idea. Love all the videos. Keep up the great work!
Thanks man!

Yes. I'd totally bought something if it was out! But alas i had a welder and some engineering knowledge...

265/70r17 won’t fit under the floor (even deflated)?
…or was this primarily so you could hide your gear under there?
It would not. The milestar also run bigger while the popular BFG tires run smaller. I tried for quite some time to get it to fit with no joy.
