Very informative video. It is great to see exactly what goes into tearing one of these down. The process is simple as you show it. I bet it could get a whole lot more complicated. That special oil ring socket is the right thing to have. Thanks again.
here,s a late comment , i noticed my 4 stroke gy6 130 was covered in oil ,for the life of me could,nt work out where it was coming from ,finally found the right side crankseal was leaking down to the generator and been blown everywhere by the cooling fan . your video was very useful to aiding my repair thank very much sir :) . is a shame you no longer post video,s :(

This is a new clean engine, when you try taking these off on an old oily engine, nothing of these tricks works ,even with a hammer, specially the kick start gear stuck on the other side of the crankshaft . Thanks for the info by the way it helped overall.

would this be the same as on a 150cc fox carbide I need to replace mine on it
But how you get the kick start gear of from the right side ??? just by taping with the rubber mallet ? ?????

Thanks for the info I have a gy6 150cc with a good bottom end I was wanting to put my gy6 150cc B block left side case on the A block bottom end Daniel is that possible? Thanks for any advice
Great video! I was working on a gy6 myself today changing piston and cylinder and saw that piece of gasket inside and felt it with my finger. I suspected it was some weird gasket part but could not confirm. Thanks for uploading this, now I know for sure it's a gasket. Should I remove cylinder and piston and try to cut that gasket out or even split engine to get it all out? (First time doing it) Or can I run it anyway and just change oil more often? Can it possibly cause massive damage if it gets lose?

I drop my 50cc now it struggle to gp to 40 before no problem. U think it i ahow change out . not makimg noise ot nothing

I have another kit very similar to this that I will be building in a couple of weeks It too is a 4 valve but bigger piston! It will have a 63mm piston and a +3 stroker kit... It's going to bring the CC's upto 190cc!!! The block is oil cooled and will answer a lot of question about how to install a stroker in a GY6 engine.. In addition, I'll provide many FAQ's such as size limits, using spacers (2mm, 6mm and 8mm aluminum cylinder base risers) and marching the piston for clearance.

use a piece of styrofoam. draw a picture of cover on it. push bolts into styro where they go.
