You were spot on, it does get better and better! It's as well this country isn't in charge of the ferries, they'd all be like the railways! The scenery is very much Alpine, all that's missing is Steve McQueen on his motorcycle! Beautiful.
The blue skies and emerald green countryside and pale blue water is just stunning! Thanks so much for this video, TMF. Not even many white vans for a change.
I’m a British born Holmes, and apparently all Holmes’s in the UK and around the world, hail from either Norway or Sweden as Holm. After watching this trip, it’s definitely on my bucket list, gorgeous in summer!👍🏍🇿🇦
Have not finished the series yet but it's very interesting to see Norway's Atlantic coastline. My adventurous mother went on a voyage on a Norwegian mail boat back in the late '70s. All the way from Bergen to Kirkenes near the then USSR border, and back. I can imagine things were very different 45 years ago than they are now. Thanks!
Yes, I imagine they were! Thanks for watching the series thus far, Norway is one of the best places in the world I’ve ever ridden, thoroughly enjoyed this one!
Another week of waiting for the next one ........this should be turned into a tv show just like Ewan and Charlie ...once again I loved it well done TMF ..
What a Country to ride, it just gets better. Thanks TMF for another great video, I`m sure a lot of viewers are adding Norway to their list, I now I am!! BRILLIANT!!
That was absolutely striking scenery. While I enjoy the company of my friends and fellow riders today's video is a perfect example of why I so often tour alone. Having to hurry through beautiful scenery or pushing myself beyond safe limits of endurance to keep an arbitrary schedule undermines the whole experience of a trip for me. I would definitely have stopped for a little swim.
i am so pleased you did this, i was meant to do it 2 years ago just after i bought my GS. but just got to denmark and someone messed up all my hotel bookings. i was not impressed. so now ive seen your vid its rekindled the spark showing me what i missed. and im planning the trip again for next year. thanks TMF
Great series of videos, a real inspiration. Was thinking about planning a trip to Norway and then stumbled on this so perfect and has made my mind up. Keep up the great content TMF!
This is a great treat for me. I'm living vicariously through TMF these days as we lost some wonderful riding weather here in central British Columbia due to heavy wildfire activity. The smoke was so thick you could cut it with a knife. Made for unpleasant riding unfortunately.Seeing the wonderful weather and beautiful scenery you experienced in Norway makes me a bit jealous right now if I'm honest :D
Hi TMF, I'm new to your channel and just wanted to say thank you for the reviews and sharing this awesome trip with us. A trip like this is definitely something I'd like to attempt in the future, thanks for giving us your perspective.
Loving the videos as usual. Looking forward to the rest of the trip. There is a small village in Askoy with my last name. Thanks again for keeping me occupied at work.
Brilliant TMF, that looked like a good day. Good move having a stop, I do it regular in the car, I can cover 1,000 miles a week and it does catch up with you after a few days. Quick power nap seat reclined and good to go. Bit tougher on the bike though. Oban for me tomorrow for breakfast, the GSA will fired up while the rest of the house sleeps. Thanks again sir, looking forward to next week. 👍🏍
Absolutely brilliant. Your tours and quite excellent videos have inspired me so much that tomorrow I pick up my brand new GS TE exclusive from Bowker Motorrad in Preston and once we've become properly acquainted I hope to see if I can do some of the fantastic tours you've been on. Thanks for the push ;)
Great series and beautifully put together. Natural beauty at its best. Just a shame you always seemed to having to keep up with the others. Stopping off for a dip would have been a wonderful experience. Seriously considering getting a GS myself. Excellent piece of kit. Keep up the great work.
country is absolutely amazing like i would love to see a thanks for the motorbike views and you and royaljordanian have made me actually go and do me test so to start off I have do me CBT test and pass so big thank to you both
What an amazing place to be riding. Glad of the comparisons to Scotland you have go from it. I'm Scottish. Seriously considering going to the scottish bike show next weekend.....bmw stand definite haha
tag! another great video - brought it all back - loved that Fv17 road and as you say Norway is perfect with the only malevolence for me being the tunnels especially as the temps were in the upper 30s when we were there and the thermal shock was something else!
Epic scenery overload. These just get better and better. Your right, Norway is very beautiful. Noticed that the best bits (west coast) of your trip are also the longest drives, which seems a shame as I'm sure you would like shorter days to be able to stop and enjoy the scenery, suppose the stops on the ferry makes up for the long days. Thanks again for another great video.
Nice one TMF! Still enjoying watching your trip, and the return leg seems much prettier than the way there....like you have earlier said. Still can’t help thinking the trip planning by the tour company is poor............days far too long......... Spending that much on a trip, then having to blat through it all just to ‘get there’........nah not on..... But then again, seeing the company logo on your front page, i guess it wasn’t a hardship! 😂
Everything is possible even you are in a low CC just like mine, you can get your destination smooth and relax..Let Say Enjoy Your Journey not the Destination..
You where so lucky with the weather! Not all summers are like this here in Norway :-) But I can not quite understand the route choice, by the tour operator after the last ferry you took (Holm - Vennesund). At Foldereid, i would recommend turning right into the 770, and after Kolvereid heading 769 to the Ferry at Hofles - Lund. From Lund continue to Namsos. This road is much more scenic, lots of turns, bridges and views against the sea.
Enjoyed your video. After hearing your horn in the tunnel I would suggest you look into the Steble horn. Works great on my ‘17 Multistrada 1200S touring. It wakes the wankers up while they text from behind the wheel 😎
Loving these videos mate. Makes me really really miss my old GS and touring. Bikeless right now, but looking forward to getting back in the saddle in a couple of years time. Norway might have to be in the list.
Luckily no rain on Dalton (got rained on going up through Yukon) and temps mostly in the 70'sF. Things warmed up considerably once I was back in the lower 48, but Yukon and Alaska were perfect temperature wise.
'LOOOK AAAT THAAAAT - LETTT's STTTOP!!' ..Makes me chuckle - your 'scenery stops' remind me of family holidays to France in dad's siht brown Volvo 240 'DL' (it wasn't), where he'd come to a screeching stop from top speed (around 72mph), whip us all out of the car, exclaim 'what a view - you don't see that in Sheffield..'. Before we got a chance to queue for an ice-cream, be firmly cajoled back in - 'we've got to make that ferry / 'hotel' / opening time of some random loosely defined amusement park..' we all look back fondly on those times.. (as you no doubt will on this rather excellent trip that makes me wish I was a contract PM again so I could retire early..)
After the time/cost and effort that went into these episodes I’m rationing them to one a week to eek out their life!! :0) Thanks for watching - still another 6 episodes to go....and the best is yet to come!
LAMPF or LAMPR I have had a GS 1200 for 12 years and the LAMPF lamp front has gone out many times I have often tried to explain this. Great ride and views.
You asked for an equally beautiful country to ride in - I give you New Zealand - I’ve been fortunate enough to ride there 4 times since 2014 and its as beautiful and un-spoiled as you’ve been riding through in this trip. While it costs to get there, the cost of living is around the same as the U.K. but with only 4.5 million inhabitants its quiet with cracking roads and spectacular scenery - and they ride on the left
What a wonderful ride ..Thanks for sharing again . I am looking into landing at Gloscow and rideing the west coat next year because of your last trip ... On a tour like this one what is the plan if one of the members finds a nail in a tire in between two of the ferries .. Very glad you didn't have to find out but there must be some kind of a plan for breaking down .. The roads look great and the views are like our Vermont but on steroids :).. Thanks again .. Guy
exquisite scenery yet again, looking forward to next episode. By the way, I had exactly the same warning light issue on my 2014 GSA which it turned out to be connected to the hex ezcan, if I'd stopped the engine with one of the indicators on the warning light came up, when I cancelled the indicators the warning light went out. may or may not be the same as yours.
Received in Australia, many thanks. Time for viewing.😀👍🏍 I’ve said it before, you lucky man. Magnificent country. On the wish list if I can find myself a lottery win to afford it.
Hey Russell. We have some amazing rides in Oz albeit with a few long streches in between. It is only a small hop across to Tassie or even New Zealand for awesome rides. Mind you this is spectacular stuff. Cheers. I live in Shepparton btw.
reksubbn Agree 100%. Currently living in Wollongong, so coastal runs or twisties around the Southern Highlands/escarpment areas are my back yard😀. I’ve lived & worked as a pilot in Tassie, NSW & WA so lucky to have ridden some of this humongous country. Agree with you on NZ. A Brit a blonde & a bike post some great vlogs which has now put a riding holiday there on the agenda.
@@russelllocke7180 I am jealous! Only had my V Strom 650 5 weeks but 1000k a week so far. Just getting used to gravel roads. Great little bike. Looking longingly towards the Victorian Alps. Soon. Going to NZ in November. Checked out the MC tours but my wife hasnt ridden pillion much. She thought about it though so thats a start. Maybe next time!
Enjoying my own country through the lens of a visitor - brilliant videos! :)
This series deserves so many more views. I dont know how many times I've watched it now
Wow - thank you Per - more similar coming next year!
@@TheMissendenFlyer wohoo great news for me! (And hopefully others)
Some days I feel lazy. But then I watch a TMF vid, and I go out and ride. Life is bloody beautiful!
Unless I win the lottery I will never get to do anything like this, breathtaking,THANK YOU for sharing TMF.
You're welcome.....
You were spot on, it does get better and better! It's as well this country isn't in charge of the ferries, they'd all be like the railways! The scenery is very much Alpine, all that's missing is Steve McQueen on his motorcycle! Beautiful.

Another first class leg of your trip TMF , the tunnels are mind blowing just raw rock !!

Awesome to seeing you soaking up the very best of Norway, on such great bikes. What a ride! And better than best advertising for my home country.
