I played in that park as a lad what memories I have, of my friends and life in wednesbury. Ten year old, felt as safe as you could be. Now 78 years old, can remember all and more you spoke about. The houses over the road from it, still hold a fear of my childhood. I had lots of happiness with my school chums. I think that it all seems a dream to me. At 15 years old l left that town, to go back once 20 years ago for a visit, it upset me I couldn't wait to get away from it.😢 My I would so like to walk through that park again, it was lovely to see it on screen, thank you so much for putting it out there you have bought back to me the happiness part of my childhood 😀
Thanks Alistair this is what the channel is all about, the memories. That's all we have now as so much of our Towns are changing and sadly not for the better

Hello Phil..Thanks for giving my local park a good honest review, when it's nice weather it does get quite busy.. I saw a couple of those Ring necked parakeets down there a few weeks back, well i heard them first, think there's quite a few around Dartmouth Park. I did hear something odd while you were walking round the park.. Anyone else notice ?.
We paid a visit to the Manor House in West Brom on Tuesday , on the way back we drove through Brunswick Park Road and I said to my wife I wonder if Phil has made a video about Brunswick Park....came home, looked, and here it is....thanks Phil...brilliant videos....
Hi Phil enjoyed the walk and History of Brunswick Park i lived just across the WoodGreen road in Vicarage rd my daughter loved the padding pool and we loved the Fair every year as you say in the early eighties it was open plan all the best Paul
@awalkwithphil Hi Phil looking forward to your walk up Churchill I remember a couple of Pubs up there but I'm can't remember the names of them all the best Paul
@@paulhill196 Probably the Old Blue Ball, Rosehill Tavern and Leathern Bottle it would be interesting to see how they are doing. I aint been up Church Hill for years
That Big Conifer Type Tree was my fave tree to climb when i was a kid , The mound was great in the winter when we would nick the park's ladder and ride it down the hill in the snow🤣🤣
Thanks Andy, great memories. The snow isn't what it used to be. When we were kids it was always about 4 foot deep now we only get a flurry, then, of course, the country comes to a halt.
I thought for a moment there Phil that you were going to go on the exercise section. Willenhall Park is very spacious and it has a bandstand too, but it's not fenced off, not very far away from where I live. Thanks for the video Phil, I like the sound effects of the lion 😂 👍
Well spotted RR there are one or two extra sounds in there if you can spot them 😃Thanks for the heads up about Willenhall Park I will film around there soon, many thanks
