Thanks Edgar! I can definitely be used in any key. For A7 use that A root note, and do the same thing with those small box shapes. Enjoy your weekend bro 😎
Thank you for the concept! It's simple and sounds good. In my opinion, you should remember the following: It is actually an E minor pentatonic scale (B3-5 E3-5). The major scale (B5 - B7 E5-E7) is in major - but NOT in E major but in D major (or B minor). That would be a blues box on the 7th fret. Or am I making a mistake here?
Terrific job demystifying the musicality to the fretboard. I am often left feeling overwhelmed by the overabundance of details in other channels. You keep it very easy and digestible! 😮❤
Very informative Rusty . I see it could also be called the BB box A string 9th fret E note . You seem to go that little extra over many other instructors .

My lessons are definitely at the intermediate level. So you need to know the notes on the fretboard and a few scales to get something from these videos. My lessons are geared to help players improvise their own guitar solos. Here is a playlist that will help you. ua-cam.com/play/PLPmjfallclgvdv8ga5UkTS05d6ctU2QdO.html&si=Pku9o3ee-C5VW3qG. New player. Great lesson. I understand from which pentatonic form the minor is coming (I believe it is from the e shape of the CAGED system) however not sure about the major. BBking box perhaps?

I really enjoyed your video. I’m probably not quite an intermediate but not the most basic of beginners either. Still learning the notes but I know a couple scales. I was able to follow which notes to play but which you were playing when you were playing I was a little lost on the order. Any way I could get the tabs?
Hey bro! I am rewatching this awesome lesson and I came with a doubt, I think you are using 1, 2, 4, 5 intervals for Major Penta box, but shouldn't be 1, 2, 3, 5?? (plus 6 of course). Thanks so much my friend, I am learning a lot from your lessons!
Hey Rafa, you are right with everything you said. I wanted to use a box shape. So I didn’t include the third note of the major Pentatonic. I just wanted to use two boxes side-by-side. But of course you can add that G sharp note with the boxes. I’d like to look at those box shapes all over the fretboard and just add notes to those at times. And also you can slide up to notes within those boxes. I appreciate your support and thanks for watching my lessons.👍

Hi Rusty, very good lesson 😊just to clarify a little bit, when you say major pentatonic, means A major pentatonic, right? I was confused at beginning, until I breakdown the note😅
Actually, I said the major sound not the major pentatonic. But the major sounding box contains the same notes as the A major pentatonic. I was keeping it simple in this video so we could improvise using the major and minor sound. But I’m looking at both of these boxes as the key of E. Thanks so much for checking out the video. Talk to you soon.👍
It is the notes of the a major pentatonic, but i’m using it as an E major sound over this blues track. It’s just a simple way to improvise. Thanks for checking out the video.👌
Thanks Scooby! The first box is minor pentatonic and the second box has 3 notes from the E major pentatonic. Then borrowing the A note from the minor pentatonic box. Just a simple way to solo. Actually you can solo with out thinking about any scale. Thanks man! Enjoy the rest of your Sunday 🙏
Hi rusty, This 4 note major/minor box system you're using, could I use the same system if only minor chords are played, Thank you for your hard work, Howard.
Hey Howard, these boxes will not work over minor chords, because of the major sound of the second one. It works best over a blues sound. Seventh chords. Thank you for watching buddy 👍
These box shapes really only work over a blues progression. Using major or 7 chords. Over that C major progression I would definitely use the C major pentatonic scale over the entire progression. Thanks a lot for checking out the video and keep on rocking.✌️
This is a great starting point to get comfortable improvising around the fretboard. Let me know if the lesson is helpful! Thanks, everyone.👌

@@rustysguitar1 I like your idea very much Rusty, so easy to remember and sounds fantastic, I will use it forever, you are an awesome guitarist, teacher and a very nice buddy, it is my pleasure to follow your channel, thanks for answering mate!

Thank you Rusty from across the Big Lake! I am about 28 months into guitar...all online learning. I have watched and practiced with some of your videos. All well done! I like your style! Is there any certain order you recommend from Beginner/Intermediate to Intermediate? I play acoustic and electric Strat. Cheers!
You’re very welcome Thomas! Greetings from Chicago! I really do appreciate the support! It really means a lot. Honestly, I don’t have a certain order with the videos. But you wanna look for videos that connect the chords and the scale together. And most importantly learn the fretboard as you go! I appreciate you watching my videos! Talk to you soon🎸👍
Thank you, thank you👍
Something I’ve always struggled with is knowing WHEN it’s best to switch between minor and major. You got any videos on that specifically?
I have a playlist I just created. ua-cam.com/play/PLPmjfallclguTxcupmlDD-RzKWTEuNrEL.html. Let me know how it goes! Thanks a lot.👍

Think I finally figured it out yesterday, it's a treasure chest for me. Appreciate you sharing your experience knowledge and passion for those of us trying to make music. The way you explain is easy for me to understand, even with most of your lessons above my skill and knowledge levels.
@@chucklutter7399 That’s exciting! Thanks Chuck!👍
A note is note in the Emajor pentatonic scale
The A note is not in the E major pentatonic but it’s in the E minor pentatonic. In this video I just made 2 four note boxes. Thanks for watching 👍
but when you show the E major your dots on the strings show using an A note. @@rustysguitar1
Very nice Rusty. I just wonder: The Major Box you use is A Major Pentatonic, not E Major Pentatonic, right?
It is the notes of the a major pentatonic, but i’m using it as an E major sound over this blues track. It’s just a simple way to improvise. Thanks for checking out the video.👌
Rusty, do you have a video on superimposing two pentatonic boxes on the same four or five frets?
No, I don’t. But that is not a bad topic! I will look into that. Thanks for checking out the video.👍
Thanks Rusty...
Great lesson Rusty. Isn’t it E major scale instead of E major pentatonic scale?
Thanks Scooby! The first box is minor pentatonic and the second box has 3 notes from the E major pentatonic. Then borrowing the A note from the minor pentatonic box. Just a simple way to solo. Actually you can solo with out thinking about any scale. Thanks man! Enjoy the rest of your Sunday 🙏
Hi rusty,
This 4 note major/minor box system you're using, could I use the same system if only minor chords are played,
Thank you for your hard work,
Howard.
Hey Howard, these boxes will not work over minor chords, because of the major sound of the second one. It works best over a blues sound. Seventh chords. Thank you for watching buddy 👍
Hey Rusty..These are all major chords. How do I use major and minor pentatonics in a chord progression with minor chords, for example C Am F G?
These box shapes really only work over a blues progression. Using major or 7 chords. Over that C major progression I would definitely use the C major pentatonic scale over the entire progression. Thanks a lot for checking out the video and keep on rocking.✌️
nice job , what model is that fender, looks like an ash body.
I bought it used, so I’m not sure. But I’ve been told it’s an ash body also. Great guitar! Thanks Greg. Enjoy your Sunday 🙏
