I must have spent way too long watching TV at some point. Because that 2nd round was a doozy for me. I knew 10 of the 12 despite not even owning a television these days. Never mind watching it.
As a Finn, it's interesting that so many knew Finnish flag. It could be easily confused with other Nordic countries, or with previous versions of a Greek flag, or even, no worries, what a city of Marseille flows currently.
Genuinely wish to be a contestant, purely for the geography questions and then to be the last left so I can go through them all. Then utterly fail in the next round 🤣
The 1st two contestants plumping for Germany and then Argentina shows an incredible lack of knowing wtf the show's premise actually is. But the woman saying France was just gameshow suicide.
I think they perfectly understood the premise. It's a team game a 50 odd is a lot less than 100. They gave their teammates a chance to pull them through.
And? that means absolutely nothing. A tourist on holiday abroad isn't studying the flag of the country - most anyway. It's like saying you know Italian cos you eat loads of pizza and 'spag bol'.
@LaVaZ000 Absolutely. And how are these connections formed? Various ways, of course, depending on how often you are exposed to it, your memorization skills, and the level of engagement. So a group of people would have very different results from each other, depending on that skill set.
Hmmmm. Your statement is factual incorrect. If you study the long history of that area and the situation leading to the change of the administration and varying previous administrations, you will see your statement is not factually correct. Oversimplified statements like yours does not bring an understanding of past events in a truthful light.
6:20 Is there a country in the world England or UK has _not_ been at war with? Or were you only referencing the 20th century? Then there are a few at least.
Just curious... the answer in the flag round, which was Austria - would they have accepted Latvia as an answer ( which I would guess would be a better score?). The differences are not immediately recognizable anyway. Latvia's has a darker shade of red and the white stripe is narrower but on first impressions, not that easy.
They shouldn't - the colours are different, as you said, but there's also a noticeable difference in dimensions - Latvia's stripe in the middle is thinner and the whole flag is, afaik, also longer and narrower.
The amount of people who don't know what the flag of Austria looks like is hilarious

17:25 Got 13 out of 16 answers (I didn't get one pointless answer and both 1-pointer answers)

it is for you to feel better sbout yourself.
Although Argentina got 31 at least
It always amazes me the number of people who go on these shows who are genuinely thick
They certainly understand that those are high numbers, they just don´t know better. So better take Germany than guess and get 100.

How did only 36 people know Greece - isn’t it a popular tourist destination for Brits?
Doesn't mean they know anything about Greece, like where it is or what their flag is

Well your human brain is expected to at least make some connections, it's the most basic function of thought@@alisdairmckenzie

Flag guess Laos 😏
Finland was fighting USSR and were allies of Germany. They chose lesser between two evils.
They chose Germany because they wanted to occupy Karelia, but I guess from their point of view Germany was less of a threat.
