This video has been amazingly helpful for me. I had hip replacement surgery eleven years ago resulting in chronic SI pain. The first two exercises in your video have reduced the pain dramatically. I almost didn't watch the clip since I didn't think I had a problem lifting my leg getting into my car. If you are able, I would encourage you to add another video including those 2 exercises with a title mentioning 'Relief for SI pain', so other people like me with SI pain will check it out. I have a bad right hip so I “back into” the vehicle when entering. I put the bottom of my right foot in first, then my backside onto the seat and advance that way into a sitting position. So much easier than lifting my right leg sideways to enter my CUV. Been doing this for two years and makes entering so much easier. Turn your back to your seat and enter in this manner!!!

Thanks for all of the videos you've made available to us! I've going through a few today and have a question about this one. When I swing my left leg into the car (from the driver's side), I feel pain only on the SIDE of the hip. I've done PT with someone for 3 months, then two months on my own and get really reduce the pain. Would the exercises you show here help me with my symptoms? If it matters, I went to an orthopedic doc a few days ago who took xrays and said I have secondary osteoarthritis and hip dysplasia. That movement and putting on my pants are the only times I feel pain in the side of my hip.

Sounds exactly what I need. However, I have had 2 (R) hip replacements. You pointed out the exact places I’m hurting. The 2 nd replacement was due to loose hardware, and I had 4 dislocations.
I just want to ask you if these exercises are the right ones for me to take to a PT to show them what I need help with.

These exercises could certainly be helpful if they feel good to you! There are other ways to address this problem too but these are my favorites!
I am a recipient of THR left side and while getting in a hot tub six months PO I pulled something and doctor said it’s hip flexor 14 MO later it still hurts and I do assist my left leg into cars. Going up stairs hurt and even sneezing or coughing makes it flex and hurt. I will give these a try.

Would doing planks strengthen core to get rid of hip tilting forward?
Im having severe pain in lower back/ hips for a month the biggest trigger is getting in/ out of car. Long trips are out of the question. Idk if its sciatica or what but Im trying to learn whatever I can how to avoid it feeling like my spine is getting hit with a cattle prod every time I move.
How many times should you do the laying down hamstring stretch?
Would the first exercise against the wall be done lying on your back ? I can’t get my lower back flat against the wall 😅, but I can lying on the floor.
Im hoping,that after discovering you today, that my life starts to change. I have had both hips replaced within 9 month's of each other, and suffer horribly with hip flexor pain. I'm eager to start these gentle exercises. I need my life back, both physically and emotionally !!!! 😊

I have arthritis in my left hip and it is so bad. I’m currently four weeks into therapy and he wants me three more weeks. I don’t think it’s gonna get better, but getting into the car is the worst.
I have pain in my knee when I try to get into the car and put my leg like this, after walking for 20min pain 8 out of 10.it's like in the back of my knee, do I need to see a doctor 😢...
OK, was sent to another orthopedic and this Dr. Saying my right hip could be my problem. So I'm going to need osteoarthritis hip exercises to avoid surgery 🤔

Hi Alyssa, starting I have my neck pain and my hand leg muscle pain. After that I went for blood test . It shows I have low vitamin d deficiency 9.5 and I don’t have rheumatoid arthritis and no thyroid. I have joint pain on my fingers and shoulder pain and inner side knee pain. I cannot lift up anything. severe whole body aches. Is it am I have other kind of arthritis . Please help me . I took vitamin d3 k2 tablets. But the pain didn’t go away for 5 months. Please suggest me what to do? Thanks.
I have left hip Arthritis. When I drive, the pain shoots down to my left knee.
