I would really love to hear more about this topic. Almost nobody covers pre-Islamic Arabian paganism, and it seems like most of the time it is discussed, it's approached with a deeply negative and propagandistic bias.
because it wasnt a good time? babies bejng buried, slaves being tortured and people ripping of the pilgrims. theres many reasons why islam spread so quickly but one fundamental one was that islam was more better than the polytheism going on.
@@waz1077 That's a lie, and those things happened way after islam. Islam changed nothing of those practices... escept burying daughters, because that is a lie and never was practiced such thing, neither before nor after islam. It's simply a lie muslims made up.

Thank you very much. It’s refreshing and delightful to see some young Americans discussing the ancient, obscure history of Arab paganism, although it's not your exact specialty, with passion and without bias, unlike what most of the pseudo-Orientalists do. You have a virgin, curious, apolitical and non-ideological mind, which is a rare thing. So thanks again.
A simple note: The northern Arab god of rain “Quzah”, his name has survived through all these centuries and Arabs still refer to it today as “قوس قزح”, which literally means “The Bow of Quzah”.

That the sun would be represented as a goddess is not unique. Sunna in the Norse pantheon is also female, while Mani, the moon, is male.
There is another place where the sun was feminine. Norse mythology. The sun goddess Sol.
Japan's Amaterasu.
In siberia there's a tale of a sun maiden and a crescent moon guy. The sun is also female in inuit tradition. Circumpolar conection maybe?
The Baltic also have a female sun and male moon deities. I do think it's more "metaphysically" correct.
in Norse it was Baldur and its masculine
The 'Simon' Necronomicon has Innana as the Sun goddess.
Aside from the fact that I LOVE your videos (they help me studying these topics & expand my beliefs), I'm actually creating a character for a story I'm writing who is an Arabic girl who believes in pre-Islamic deities. This video came at divine timing! Thanks ❤

I was recently in the Arabian Peninsula and fell in love with the culture…..which clearly seems a continuation of Pre-Islamic Pagan Arabian culture, but corrupted and coopted by the cult of Islam.
Similar things can also be observed in Europe, with many Pagan customs/traditions corrupted and coopted by the cult of Christianity.
It’s great to see a revival of Pre-Islamic and Pre-Christian Paganism.
@@jediblackknight7819 Christianity never was a cult nor will never be

There’s still a lot to be learnt from the Quran……The Sufi Fakirs of India (specially the likes of Shirdi Sai Baba) have done a marvellous job of integrating Islamic mysticism with Hindu mysticism.
But yes, a full revival of Pre-Islamic Paganism (which a good portion of the Quran is actually derived from) is very much the need of the hour.
Could you make a video about chthonic deities? Honestly I have so many video requests from you 🫢😹
Hi georgiana, it would be interest that you talk about olympic and familiar spirits
There is an increasingly credible narrative that Arabia was monotheistic/Christian before Islam. There is various evidence for it, no less than the Kaaba itself having murals of Jesus and Mary. If that narrative proves to be true, and I lean towards it, that would explain how the goddesses are referred to as interceding. Perhaps what is happening here, is very similar to how the goddess Brigid became a saint in Ireland after Christianization.
The etymology of Allah is related to El, and that's all we can make from the name. No connection to the moon. Allah is used by Jewish and Christian Arabs to refer to their God.
It is not Attar, it is Ath-tar, two syllables, th as in three. Athtar has a feminine counterpart Athtart (Astarte), except in Yemen where there is only male Athtar and in Mesopotamaia where there is only Ishtar. (th shifting to sh is common). S/he is a Proto-Semitic god, that's why the worship spread with the dispersal of Semitic people.
Edit: by the way, the Himyarites did convert to Judaism later on, that’s why there are Yemeni Jews. Read about the burning of Najran Christians.
please never stop talking the pre islamic arab religion
Would be nice if you could put up the names on the screen.
The 360 gods are now inside the black stone in Kaaba Mecca. It is combined and concentrated.
This is brilliant! I'm so fascinated by all of this, especially since I researched the old Nabataean kingdom. al-‘Uzzá, al-Lat and Manāt as a trinity with Dushara in the mix is fascinating.
Imagine having gods that only scale to planetary level 😂😂😂 (this comment was made by the abrahamic gang)
Allah was one of 360 gods of kabaah. You need to research more if you don't think if Allah is the name of the moon god.
Google god Lah to see what comes up.
Muslims clearly call Allah, God Lah, when they say... ul-hmadu-li-lah = praise to Lah. And clear evidence of Cresent Moon, a symbol of islam.
Hope that helps you when you challenge others' research on moon god.
Very interesting, but something popped up recently, Apparently Islam is not the reason why the Pagans in Arabia dissapeared, the dissapearence of Pagans occured at least 100 years before Islam. Around the early 6th Century.
The northern part of Arabia was Christian, and most of the Southerners (The Himyarites and so on) were Jewish. King Dhu Nuwhas is a popular figure that pops up.
By the end of the sixth century, the Aksumites(Eritrea, Ethiopia) ruled Yemen under King Abraha and most were Christian at the time.
there were many jews and christians in the arabian peninsla. Oddly Judasim is supposed have initially many gods and then one was selected according to some sources. Supposedly there are some people who overtly practice Islam but covertly practice arab paganism. How true all of these are except for christianity and judaism being in the arabian peninsula I don't know.

here's a misconception about pre-Islamic Pagans that is not true: Pagans did believe in Allah.
that is wrong, they believed in him and his power and might but they associated idols with him and different Gods close to him or below him, why ?
they believed they would be closer to to Allah through these different idols and gods.
of course it didn't began that way, it began by simple ideas such as that the idols were only a reminder of the supreme deity but over time it evolved.
“Whereas many submitted to the false doctrine under torture, our ancestors held out with the help of God and came through by a heroic effort; and this blessed city has never been sullied by the false doctrine of Nazareth. Paganism (hanputa), which used to be the object of public celebration in this world, is our heritage, and we shall pass it on to our children. Lucky the man who endures hardship with a well-founded hope for the sake of paganism! Who was it that settled the inhabited world and propagated cities, if not the outstanding men and kings of paganism? Who applied engineering to the harbors and the rivers? Who revealed the arcane sciences? Who was vouchsafed the epiphany of that godhead who gives oracles and makes known future events, if not the most famous of the pagans? It is they who blazed all these trails. The dawn of medical science was their achievement: they showed both how souls can be saved and how bodies can be healed. They filled the world with upright conduct and with wisdom, which is the chief part of virtue. Without the gifts of paganism, the earth would have been empty and impoverished, enveloped in a great shroud of destitution.”
- Arab Pagan Thabit Ibn Qurra
Christianity also uses Jesus when it comes to intercession. So not just angels or Saints. There's scripture that calls Jesus the great intercession. Or something along those lines. But it doesn't matter cause Christianity is a fake syncretic cult religion.

Many people have a misconception that Islam is a new religion, which came into existence 1400 years ago and Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is the founder of this religion. In fact, Islam is there, for time immemorial - since man set foot on this earth. And Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), is not the founder of this religion, but he is the last and final messenger of Allah (swt) of Almighty God which was sent for the whole of humankind.
The Glorious Qur’an says in Surah Fatir, Chapter No. 35, Verse No. 24,
“Wa-in min ommatin illa khalafeeha natheer”
“There is not a nation to whom we have not sent a warner.”
Allah says in Surah Rad, Chapter No. 13, Verse No. 7,
“Walikulli qawmin had”
“And to every nation have we sent a guide By name there are 25 Prophets of Almighty God mentioned in the Qur’an. For example Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, Muhammad (Peace be upon them all). There are no less than 25 Prophets mentioned in the Glorious Qur’an by name.
But Allah also says in the Qur’an in Surah Nisa, Chapter No. 4, Verse No. 164, and Surah Ghaafir, Chapter No. 40, Verse No. 78,
“We narrate to you the stories of some of the messengers, of some of the Prophets, of the others we don’t.”
That means all the Prophets have not been mentioned by name in the Glorious Qur’an.
And our beloved Prophet Muhammad (saw) said, it’s a Saheeh Hadith which is mentioned in Mishkaat Al Masaabih, Vol. No. 3, Hadith No. 5737, our beloved Prophet Muhammad (saw) said that,
“Allah (swt) has sent about 1,24,000 Prophets on the face of the earth.”
But by name only 25 are mentioned in the Qur’an. But all the messengers that came before the last and final Messenger Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), they were only sent for their people, and their complete message
which they brought was only meant to be followed in totality till a particular time period. All the Messengers that came before Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) they were only meant for a particular group of people. For example Isa (a.s.), Jesus Christ (pbuh) was only sent for the Jews, for the Bani Israel.
Allah says in the Qur’an in Surah Ale ‘Imran Chapter No. 3, Verse No. 49, that Jesus Christ (pbuh) was sent as a Messenger to the Bani Israel, to the Children of Israel.
The same message is repeated in Surah Saff, Chapter No. 61, Verse No. 6, Jesus Christ (pbuh) says to the Bani Israel, “I’ve been sent as a Messenger to you”
And the same message is even repeated in the Bible. Its mentioned in the Bible, in the Gospel of Matthew, Chapter No. 10, Verse No. 5 and 6, Jesus Christ (pbuh) says, he tells to his Apostles that,
“Go ye not into the way of the Gentiles”
Who are the Gentiles? The Non Jews, the Hindu’s, the Muslims.
Go ye not into the way of the Gentiles, enter ye not into the city of the Samaritans: But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”
The same message is repeated in the Gospel of Matthew Chapter No. 15, Verse No. 24, where Jesus Christ (pbuh) himself says, that,
“I have not been sent but to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”
That means according to the Qur’an and the Bible, Jesus Christ (pbuh) was only sent for the Bani Israel, only for the Jews, for the children of Israel.
But Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was the last and final Messenger.
I started my talk by quoting a verse from the Glorious Qur’an from Surah Ahzaab, Chapter No. 33, Verse No. 40, which says,
Ma kana Muhammadun abaahadin min rijalikum walakin rasoola Allahiwakhatama annabiyyeena wakana Allahubikulli shay-in aleema
“Muhammad (pbuh) is not the father of any of you men, but he is the Messenger of Allah and he is the seal of the Prophets. Allah is all-knowing full of knowledge”
He also banned polytheism religion.
