This is such an insane take. Obviously teething is different for babies as the teeth have to move down and break through the skin. When children get adult teeth, the gaps in the gum are already formed for the teeth to grow into, hence less or no pain.
Its also funny how you think teething doesnt cause sleeping problems but you acknowledge that it can cause irritability during the day... doesn't make a lot of sense does it?

I totally agree. My baby has slept through the night since she was about three and a half months old and suddenly stopped the last two weeks and was not settling. Waking up every 40 minutes all night. This is a stark and sudden change for her. I couldn't figure out why and I was adjusting her schedule and changing all these things thinking that her nap schedule was off and it turns out that she was cutting two teeth. You cannot convince me that teething was not impacting her sleep!

Elementary age kid already had kids and it is just a replacement with the new teeth which wouldn’t be painful , for babies however it’s a first time. I am no doctor but it seems logical to me that babies will have pain when they are teething.

Um...my baby is getting 4 top teeth at the same time and is definitely in pain. It impacts her ability to settle becauae she is so uncomfortable. Adult teeth falling out dont hurt and growing into an already existing cavity obviously doesnt hurt either.

Teething doesn't keep baby awake cause someone that isn't baby deals with it better?
    Also admits teething causes irritability.

Baby teeth are pushing through undisturbed gum tissue. Its painful. Young kids have had teeth in the gum tissue already, so the new teeth coming through are just replacing what was already there. And their other already developed teeth help make sure that they arent biting down and putting pressure on their gums where their new teeth are trying to push through. Like babies. Do you mean to say that it isnt painful when wisdom teeth come through? Depends on who you ask yes, but a baby is not yet decensitized to discomfort and pain. So an uncomfortable mouthfull of gum tissue is going to disturb their sleep.

It's uncanny how your videos always are exactly where I'm at 😆
Baby girl is actively cutting 2 teeth and taking shorter naps BUT because I watched your nap transition video, I know it's because she is ready to transition to 2 naps!

I agree with this video! Our 6 month old is getting his two bottom teeth & we are transitioning to 2 naps at the same time. After about 3 days of fussiness, he is doing good!

Elise, I'm so thrilled to hear this! Nap transitions often occur during periods of teething and developmental milestones (baby is changing and growing so much!), and I'm so glad to hear that after a few days of adjusting, your little one is thriving on the new 2-nap schedule! 💛

Smh I’m really trying to appreciate this lady’s videos but they just seem so wrong. My baby has a fever and diarrhea. These symptoms are caused by teething, so yes, teething is affecting her sleep.

This chick really said “don’t let your baby get used to you rocking them to sleep, feeding to sleep or holding their hand to sleep” 🤦🏼‍♀️ WHAT? Gosh I feel awful for your children and all the children of parents who listened to your wack advice. I let my baby nurse every single night to fall asleep, he nurses throughout the night as he pleases bc I sleep with him in my bed, and I comfort him EVERYTIME he cries. He sleeps 12+ hours straight and I get so much rest. Even if I’m stuck holding him all day, I don’t mind. That is what our intuition tells us to do, for a reason! They do not understand that they are detached from moms until about 6 months old, and they literally shut down their brains and go into a dissociative state if they cry for too long without being comforted bc they need to conserve energy in case they are “abandoned.” Their cortisol levels shoot up as well and they can’t regulate their cortisol until 6+ months so they need you to comfort them to bring those cortisol levels back down. I bet you’re the type who says “your baby is manipulating you!” 🙄
To give you credit though, I 100% agree that you absolutely should NEVER give your kids OTC meds. No Tylenol or Advil. None. Use natural remedies like gripe water for tummy pain and camomile for teething. Borion makes great homeopathic remedies and so does Wellements.

This is just an advertisement of their sleeping porgram. Nithing less, nothing more. If my teeth is causing pain, I won't be able tobfall asleep or I will struggle. Same with babies. My daughter is 12 months old, she has already 10 teeths, 11 and 12 are on the go. There is no way such babybwill sleep normally

What do you suggest or recommend for consistently waking up screaming I'm assuming its gas pain? We have tried many diet changes and nothing seems to help. We have 5 kids so I would think we know what were doing but he wakes up 2-3 times per night for the last 2 months. He was sleeping 10-12 hours consistently previous to this

So besides giving a frozen wash cloth what can I do to help my baby fall asleep while teething at night? What you're saying makes sense, but the title is a little deceiving... The main take away is recommending to buy your course, it's not too helpful.

    • @littlezsleep
      @littlezsleep  Рік тому

Hey there, Yulianna! Along with offering cold wash cloths, frozen teething toys, and gum massages during both the daytime and during bedtime routine, it's also important that you give your little one the opportunity to sleep a full 11-12 hours at night, uninterrupted, as sleep really is the best medicine.
If your little one is unable to sleep or self-soothing on their own, then our Baby Sleep Program can help them to do that! ❤

I found Camilia Teething Drops, which is a homeopathic remedy, really helpful for our 6 month old who just got his first 2 bottom teeth. Also, the Dr Browns Silicone Feeders are great. We do those during the day with frozen fruit & at bath time!

This video was super helpful for me. As a society, we are constantly blaming crankiness and poor sleep on teething. I know numerous people who constantly say, “it’s because they are teething” for weeks and months. Becca’s take from this video is that we need to stay consistent with our sleep training regimen. Babies are cranky because they don’t have the sleep they need not they don’t get the sleep they need because of teething. As parents we get to set up the environment for our babies to get sleep, if we blame it on teething and not ourselves, we get no where.
