- Survival kits are great but I usually keep mine in my house and my vehicles. When I go into the woods I keep a day bag on my back (with first aid kit, jacket and water container) and for the past few months or so I've also been wearing this wearable survival kit!

NEW ADDITION: I've listened to your feedback and removed some of the fire-starting redundancies and added a mylar blanket (I always keep a jacket in my backpack but I wanted to have everything possible in this belt)! I won't add a water bottle due to the weight but I still do have that 1 liter standing water bag with water purification tablets and I am in a very wet environment and I never leave the house without a steel container of water with several plastic bottles in my trunk as well as 2 bugout bags in my car. Thanks again for the help in the comment section!
Try adding a Sawyer Mini life straw and it comes with a bag to drink from that collapses. It makes your water purification setup kinda useless cus it's a life straw. Much easier.
Laughed pretty good at the sharpie sniffing comment. Thanks for sharing!
I think, for me, you could pare it down slightly , BUT it's your belt, your preference, and you have what you obviously feel comfortable with! ♥ I would have, maybe, a titanium cup, teabags, and a survival blanket to sit on lol, I like a cuppa at ANY time!! 😁
Mog-Gyver O'Neill Good ideas!! I’ll keep tinkering with it. I love its versatility!
Something i added to my edc belt also takes up no room, cut an old cd into a small rectangle 2x3 "....makes an awesome signal mirror, try it youll be surprised, just slip it in a pouch and you'll forget its there until you need it.👍good vid
“Shhhh T kit, I think that’s how you say it”
I died
Minty 😂😂😂
I was going to say this.
Thanks for the mention and covering your load out.....well thought out kit for sure!! Well done.
Your belt is very good, I like it... Still, the belt itself - I think - is better if made not from leather but from paracord! I made my belt (actually not only one but 3) from paracord 550 ! It is wonderful feeling that the belt I have around my waist is made by I myself... and of course, it is superstrong.
Very comprehensive setup… but that’s a LOT of stuff on a belt. I’d simplify and put the bulk in a haversack. Take care.
Some really good suggestions. Just picked up a sheath for my Leatherman Sidekicks with the pockets for a flashlight and ferro rod. Keep it up Marty. Appreciate your vids.
Very very interesting! I’ve never seen anyone utilizing a belt in lieu of a backpack/bag but I gotta say that it seems like it totally works! Thank you for the great video and for thinking outside of the box! Awesome!
Glad I found your video. I’ve been putting together my own belt. You gave me a couple new ideas.
Good work on this video.
Great ideas. Im building one for myself now. Will swap or add a few things but this was great inspiration.
Incredibly awesome ideas. While I don't have one YET, I'm planning one, but, I have a list what to include. Some, not all, the specifics are different, many are similar or same. Confirms my thinking, and gives me additional ideas. I do plan on a small boo-boo kit, mostly for deep cuts and twists. A broken bone, pew/pew wound would calls for full on first aid kit the very top of my pack. Also I chose a Katadine 'Be Free' instead of the tablets. Tablets take less room. Also quick energy bars. Like I said, I'm planning stages. I may be planning too much after considering yours. However I like the challenges. (I'm 64 and challenge you young pups. I may not win the race but I can more than hold my own.)
A lot of great items. I really appreciate you putting links down below.
Love it! Thank you so much for the ideas!
Love the belt setup, and Esee knives rock. I carry the Esee 5 snd the Izula II, good share
Nice I like it. I might try something like this to supplement my bug out bag. Also might build a separate belt with maybe just 2 pouches + canteen of bare essentials for day hikes
You forgot the container of Bruce Banner Bud for that late evening toke
Thanks I appreciate you sharing as far as what you carry is your discretion I try to have redundancy items through out my pack, pockets and belt
A few recommendations: Your belt is tight around your belly. Unless a belt is a few inches below one's navel, you eliminate roughly 25% of your breathing capacity, reducing one's speed in an emergency or preference and slowing ascent speed as well. Your saw and saw affects your thought concentration due them hanging down and most likely striking your leg as you move. Your second knife is horizontally located preventing the problem. However if you put it on the other side and turn the handle around, you could quickly remove it. Your Laplander saw doesn't have sharpened teeth. As a result it cups slowly and binds up frequently when cutting. I threw mine away after comparing it to my Corona saw. Where is your bivy, tarp and sufficient amount of rope for descending if necessary and construction needs?
oh this belt is droolworth awesome, now i gotta make one and be a superhero too!
Caring all those fire starter capabilities you could be a borderline pyromaniac. I would seek a professional opinion.
vagabond88817 😂😂🤷🏻♂️
Where is your ester bottle
@@schalkwillembasson9607 In his ocket
I agree. I've never understood the multiple fire ignition tools. If you get a fire going, keep it going.
When I saw your comment, didn't think much of it. Watched the video. Jeez, you weren't exaggerating were you? Haha 😄
I like it and that folding bag was cool
Great video and nice survival belt! I like your style and values. I just found your channel and I am enjoying it. I too have a "batman" belt and I am always changing it and adding things. Sometimes I just wear the belt but mostly I wear it with my pack. Again, great video and I will be watching more. Marty from MinneSNOWta.🙂
Great video thanks for posting!
great belt, with a possible bag with some kind of shelter and a bottle of water it is a perfect setup.
Holy megaCool Robin!
🎉 Great video and great belt system!😎
🔷 Intro reminds to tune in on the same YT channel, same YT time🚩
Very nice idea!
Survivable is basically with the boy scouts used to do also. And your pack was mostly bedding clothes. And if you get yourself a pair of suspenders you'll thank me later, kind of like an ALICE pack keeps the weight of your hips and lower back
Funny.
Sharpy sniffing on the way out. Lol.
I am seriously considering this as the contents of my bugout bag require me to remove it, shuffle it around, and constantly shift the contents. I was considering a way to have more commonly used items within reach in organized pouches, would really help to share the load instead of all on my pack, and I could still run a pack for jacket, tarp, socks, etc items.
I would find a quality headlamp to be able to keep both hands free and working and still be able to see. I also built a basic first aid kit incase of deep cuts. They have this compressed gauze that takes up very little room. Gauze can be used to wound pack, secure stuffing within a wound, wrap around to make splint, or just used as a bandaid over more minor cuts. People get crazy with all these fancy Israeli bandages with built in tension bar etc but adding a few twists over the wound with regular gauze also creates pressure without the added bulk.
I can fit 4 rolls (squares) of compressed gauze in my back pocket. Each is like 10 yards.
Great video
I too have a belt, only thing different besides the brands is I have a good space blanket and stainless coffee cup with instant coffee. My belt started off as a way to lighten my pack and a "just in case" I lose the pack kinda thing.
I would add a small first aid kit plus some pain relief tablets and any medication you use and a head lamp some crazy glue and a few reusable zip ties I would move the compass and bandana to the main pouch and add a pouch to hold a titanium mug with a lid and a brew kit.
I built my webbing on a scaffolders belt like that, if you keep it oiled/cared for it'll last lifetimes.
Very nice man! I would just add some emergency blanket or poncho and a water filter
That's some great gear for hiking you for got the walking stick is always a good tool to have it could have multiple functions?
Ain't survival fun? And good for the economy, too. ;-) Lately, I've been configuring my gear pretty much from what I can scrounge from around the house. One thing I've found that is quite good is jute twine. No expensive tinder paracord required. I find Bic-type lighters laying around here quite often, so don't have to buy that. My bags/belts are nylon bags from the Thrift Store or garage sales. My canteens are used plastic drink bottles. A ziplock bag or two and Katadyn chlorine dioxide tabs for water purification, yep. I'm a knife collector of sorts, so got that covered. Multitool? My Leatherman Squirt that's been on my keychain for 15 years suffices. Shelter is a contractor garbage bag. Food? Cheetos, 10 of which is as much as I can stomach and makes me feel comfortably bloated. Anyway, you get the idea. This is way more fun than shopping online, and I can easily save enough to buy another knife or gun, which is my real jewelry. Have a normal day, while you still can. ;-)
Make up a few paracord danglers. Add various sizes of carabiners for more hanging points. You can then add a magnifying lens pouch, a flint & steel kit, a stainless steel water bottle and, perhaps a machete. Use ranger bands on that or the large ESSE to hold a 55 gal contractor garbage bag shelter, another fire steel and a backup multi-tool. Consider gaining some more weight around the middle. Every inch of belt length you add, the more function you can add to your belt kit. Such as a FAK, Write in the Rain notebook to go with the combo pen & Sharpie. Plus a few more girth adder food bars.
Just a little musing at the keyboard, this morn. Thanks for sharing.
Only thing I could think of that you need differently is a tarp/cover at least one. They have ones that are big enough and strong enough to hold up in weather and fit into your pocket. And a water bottle holder or canteen.
Thumbs up 👍 on the video thank you for sharing. Maybe add a few first aid items? Especially with all the knives cuts can happen. ⛑
Excellent belt build, but where's your gun for SHTF? ;-) I'd add a small steel water bottle/cup and silnylon tarp with some lightweight paracord for rigging. Definitely need that Sharpie for occasional sniffing!
great!
Nice kit. Most people don’t think about the dump pouch, but I consider it essential.
👍🏻
Just curious, what TOPS knife did you get with that whistle?
😉
Pyromaniac!!! You don't NEED all those Firestarters. Also I carry a small canteen bag on my belt and a mallet/hammer/ax as well as my fancy feast camp stove with a small alcohol vial in the small pouch with sticky notes to start my fires.
Very nice and like you said you live in a very wet Environment I would have lots of ways to make a question is what is the big pouch called where can I find one
Have you found what it’s called?
9:14 I can't stop laughing :D
No shelter? Emergency space blanket for inclement weather might be good.
Tony Chafin I have been trying to figure out shelter for the belt. I think that I’ll switch some tinder out and throw in a Mylar blanket.
I always have a jacket on me as well but it won’t be bad to have a backup
BudgetBugout A disposable rain poncho could be used for warmth or a shelter.
@@BudgetBugout Look into a 3 layer system. poncho, woobie, blanket that can snap to each other. When not used, roll them up with the poncho being the outer layer.
I think the Helikon-Tex Foxtrot MK2 Belt Rig might be a great upgrade from this set up.
You need to try the weben L50 flash light
you should try the condor tactical belt
Cool
Hello 👋 my outdoors friend, thank you for sharing this most informative video. It looks like you're prepared for just about any emergency. Your belt is a nice set up. Stay safe out there. 🤗
A Vapur collapsable water bottle would last longer then a ziplock bag. You could place a metal bottle in the drop pouch to carry if need be. Like the idea, in fact, my EDC is kinda like this. Gear around my belt and that’s urban environment. Been caught in earthquakes & wild fire, what you have on you matters.
You need a water bottle and a survival bifi. And when you are still in Ramstein, than please come to Gembloux the 9&10 November in Belgium, One of the best knife shows ever in Europe. Hope to see you there: we have spoken each other last IWA. at the WE knives booth.
What kind of Pen was that? 5:50 It's not on the list that I could see. Really looking for a nice combo pen like that. SKILCRAFT B3 Aviator Multi-function Pen Black/Red Ink, Medium Point with Pencil?
Where did you get the belt pouches from or did they all come with the equipment?
That is freakin awesome......the thing is your going to look weird as F$&k, until you need it, then everyone is going to wish they planned ahead. I get the Batman theme....I mean really, no super powers but totally kicks ass!! I have 2 duty belts that may need a face lift, thanks for the time to motivate people to think outside the box.
Holy survival belt Batman is gonna sue you
Needs A way to carry water And shelter system. Thank You
Some form of shelter aka Mylar blanket /headlamp for hands free /first aid/ OTC drugs
Some modifications would make this an awesome idea for ground stalk hunting ...
Jon Patterson Yeah man! The possibilities are endless!
Everyone has priorities and preferences. Back-ups are great but this kit has too many redundancies I think. Also, it seems like a lot of belt kits just ignore a canteen completely.
If it were me I would get rid of the extra knives, the big flashlight and the extra fire stuff and add a stainless steel canteen w/ cup, some cordage and a lightweight rain poncho that can double as a tarp.
Out of all the things I carry on my belt kit my canteen is by far the most used.
Suspenders are needed to carry that belt effectively otherwise your hips are and lower back are going to feel it ask any carpenter or who moves all day with a belt loaded with tools, otherwise solid stuff man
A little excessive on the fire starting you might think of some first aid items
Is the Leatherman Signal pliers spring loaded?
A mini frontier water straw, and a 1 gallon water bag folded up..(water storage)..
what modle is the piolt pen?
Survival belt with no bookbag? Does it not fit?
what does all that weigh?
To each their own but way to much crap carrying this all day would make for a bad back ache
So you have writing utensils but no paper?
Potable Agua?
Just a ferro rod belt
Maybe I missed it, but what about batteries?
How much is it all
Some good gear. But after being in a real bug out situation in the recent California fires 99 percent of that stuff would be useless
Sidekick bro cheap but includes a saw
You're not rocking the Bradford 3" any more? I thought that was cool.
Tim Dahl I EDC that knife but it won’t fit on this survival belt
Where did you get the pouches???
Did you find the pouches??
Bathman has a cape...you should put at least a poncho in your kit...
Ten different ways to start a fire and no first aid? Cool kit, but have a TQ at least.
brainfat1 I always keep a first aid kit on me when I go into the woods. 👍 This belt is meant to supply what I don’t keep in my day packs.
@@BudgetBugout Roger that. Keep up the good work.
Only 2 knife on one belt, rookie numbers bro!
My back and hips hurt just looking at that.
Oooooooo..... 👍🏻
More lights, I carry a aaa for each family member, cause Dark Sucks!
It seems like everybody has a letherman multi-tool
Needs more Ferro rod.
Not a single ranger band among that stuff??
No one:
Every Finnish person who see that American uses something from Finland:
😱😱😱😱
Not even a tiny band-aid?.....
No first aid?
Bryan Sparks No I keep that is one thing that I always in my bag (or car)
A lot of gear for a supermarket trip
No handgun carry?
Meeso Hunny Can’t do that in Europe
Admittedly a utility belt is very practical, that said, however, with current events (Sep. 2020) it would be wiser to be less conspicuous. Therefore, a pair of cargo pants with all the multiple pockets with a two pocket button down shirt and a utility type of jacket like a ranchers jacket would be more prudent. These should all be done in earth-tones, i.e. spruce green, desert tan, earth brown, various shades of gray. Never, never use camouflage clothes, while good for hunting it is a dead give away for those targeting preppers. Also don't use all black clothing, today this is the informal uniform of contemporary terrorists.
Finally, a small inconspicuous backpack, like a day-pack may well serve, but keep it to a minimum. It is better to have cashes strategically placed with goods in area where you might frequent.
You don't actually WEAR that when you go out in the woods, do you??? That's more junk than I carried doing search and rescue for 13 years. Lol
Its not a dropkit its a dump pouch
No toilet paper?
I like using fanny packs
Survival kit for a pyromaniac?
