In this video I show you how I remove and replace the blower motor resistor or regulator in my 1997 S500 W140 sedan. Common problems in a car with a bad regulator include: fan speed is weak even on full blast. I replaced this with part number 1408218451.

Just replaced the blower motor was a 45 min job, however on the right in the cowl you are removing for access there is a thermostat, this can either be removed (it slips out) or left as is, but do not remove the hose or you will have coolant everywhere ask me how I know 😂. You mentioned a drainage hose so I assumed it was that, however on mine the drainage hoses were just short hoses ending in a sock, a non issue for removal. Easy job all in all

the fan motor axle was rusty, putting some lubricant was probably needed, finally we did not see the problem since you did not demonstrate the fan motor rotation and speed before and after
Just what I needed. I suspect this is what is wrong with mine. I was fine but after sitting for a few month the blower all the sudden won’t turn on.

So you didn't actually say if this fixed your problem. Also, given the age of the car I would have replaced the blower and regulator together.
Very helpful video. Thanks. Wondering what the "broken drain tube" is? My own car and videos of others just show a hole in the plastic maybe with a little nub. You implied something should be attached there. What is that hole draining? Is there supposed to be something attached there?
Yes you can see one is on the driver side but missing on the passenger side. Drain for water
Hello Quick question I bought 1998 S320 And A/C and heat doesn't blow hot or cold fans work fine. Any recommendation?

I think the e38 does have that service mode on the hood. I saw it in m539 restorations. Is just not as easy to put it like this Mercedes
