Seeing This interview after the movie definitely is spot on in terms of the media watering down and downplaying import topics and I’m sure the actors wanted to show the contrast to real life wow what a brilliant thing they did, you can definitely see the shallow interviews now. A movie about the blatant disregard for urgency and even still real life interviews don’t try to change smh a missed opportunity to direct the conversation to something important and all she can talk about is the same shallow things the movie talks about. What a great allegorical masterpiece this just shows they’re deliberately disregarding important conversations and topics in real life. This was brilliant I hope this encourages positive change
I wish I could say it was as brilliant as the movie. Did the interviewer even get the movie’s critique of the interviewers in the movie? Soooo disappointing. And frankly, given the urgency of the matter as the movie underscores, just pathetic.
It also makes fun of many other things, celebrity culture, social media and the fact people don't want to hear the truth, just want good news and how selfish people truly are.
HUGE respect to Jonah for bringing up hr794, using this platform to bring attention to what really matters right now. I imagine this show really forced them not to talk about climate change too much to avoid bringing down the mood, just like the morning show in the movie. Mad respect for anyone that uses their platform to take action on climate change. Just like the movie portrayed, it’s what everyone SHOULD be doing. We can’t afford to lose everything to apathy.
Jesus Christ, this is why the movie hits home. This interview is exactly what happens in the movie and in our world. Could we get serious about saving ourselves and this planet?????
These interview shows are so transparent and choreographed. As someone born in the eighties, having been force-fed this crap throughout my childhood and early adulthood, it is so painful, yet satisfying to watch these dinosaurs, in 2021, still scrambling to maintain their legitimacy in an era where podcasts and other forms of independent media dominate, with a lack of corporate/network control and their ability to have sincere and unedited discussions about whatever the subject may be.

That's how I felt about the whole movie: it's brilliant, but everyone's actions (and how unfortunately realistic they were) had me frustrated and angry and depressed the entire time, and for the rest of the day after.
I just finished watching this movie. It was a great satirical film. And the acting and performance of Meryl and Jonah Hill were both great. Especially Jonah Hill was the MVP of this movie lol
I'm so happy this movie is a huge success and the fact that's making people talking about at least ONE of the topics we ALL should be talking about since decades.
The movie is brilliant but it could be about anything so, it really didn't make people talk about climate change. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people out there thought the movie was about an asteroid hitting earth.
