Excellent restoration!! Just a little advice, do not put the two traction tires on the same side, put them crossed one on each side, to balance the traction force.

Great video as always Dan, I've got a model like this but it's King George in maroon livery, tender drive locomotive, thanks for sharing John

Another good video Dan. Having worked in small mech design for 30 yrs I'd like to comment...
Just to help your narration, the parts you refer to as "cogs" are actually called pinions. Which is the name given to the smaller gear wheel. A cog is the name of each gear tooth, particularly used in ancient times when they were made out of wood in a waterwheel, for instance.
The correct way to bond a pinion to motor shaft, whether diecast alloy or machined brass is using a loctite anaerobic (ie NOT superglue). A little bottle of Loctite 270 would be handy to have.
    Have a good weekend.

The issue is that you often have a split gear when they are loose. In that case glueing it back on the shaft won't work

@ivovanzon164 Yes I agree, but he couldn't get a good fit with the replacement pinion

Thanks for doing that I mentioned to Chadwick yesterday I was surprised a chap from the uk did not make mention of such an important event, especially to the country that really did give birth to railway but of course we can’t say God save the Queen anymore so when I heard that new locomotive play God Save the Queen, it made me feel like Lord save a soul lol fantastic stuff as always. Hope you get a chance to enjoy some of my videos. Stay safe, enjoy the pomp and ceremony

One of the great streamliners of the 1930's.
Did UK loading gauge prevent lowering the streamlined casing to the same height as on the German class 01 and 05 (covering the axle boxes of the tender)

Hi Dan. What method did you use to press the centre spur gear into place please

Was the motor plate milled out to accept a CD motor , the mod to revive a dead ringfield motor.

Could have been, but no CD motor was included in the parts sent.

Stephen - if you seek out the Horns and Whistles or Strathpeffer Junction channels, current iteration of the Hornby CD motor conversion includes a 3D printed housing that fills the motor cavity when you take the magnet out which is no-longer needed. Why someone done that no idea...
