Nate, your philosophical thinking about the "comfort zone" was enlightening. I've never thought about that before but I think you are correct. My comfort zone grows more and more as a parent watching my kids grow up and experience the world without me as they mature into adulthood and I'm glad they have good people in their lives to guide them into those independent experiences with out me.

Nah, it looks like a mutt with working dog blood. I'm from Minnesota and working dogs are built for the cold and to run for hours and hours and hours around horses, cows etc without losing any energy. Actually I would babysit a pair of border collies in the dead of winter when it was this cold, and I'd have to force them to come inside at the end of the day because they'd want to stay outside playing frisbee. Their pads are not built like our hands - they're less temperature sensitive.

That beautiful talk on comfort zones brought me to tears! I loved it! Most comfort zone talks annoy me because it’s other people trying to tell me to do something. This one was very inspiring for me to look within to realize I get overwhelmed when something is way out of reach especially when I feel “behind” everyone else. I felt invited to unapologetically go at my good pace because slow is better than being so overwhelmed you don’t even try.

I wouldn't take one of my BCs up that mountain without putting tuff paws on her pads if she wasn't going to wear boots. Dogs get used to boots if you get them acclimated to them. At the very least she should have had something on her paws in my opinion.

I love the winter videos guys keep them coming. Leadville is a fantastic area! I was driving from the PNW to FL 23 April 2022 and Interstate 70 was closed at Vail Pass because of heavy snow. I had to get off in Minturn on US-24 which was not any better and of course not plowed. From Minturn to the Tennessee Pass summit was whiteout, blowing snow on winding mountain road route 24. The great happenstance was that when I came down off the TN Pass to Leadville the snow had stopped and the view was massive.

Though next year I may get that chance if I’m able to study abroad for a semester I’ll be able to go many places! As someone from Colorado it always warms my heart seeing people enjoying the nature and mountains of this beautiful state. You are always welcome back! Love you guys!!

I don't normally comment on your video's but for some reason I felt compelled to do so today. I've been watching you guys do what you do for a while now and each time I'm in awe of how you keep managing to break barriers in your lives. That speech by Nate on comfort zones hit the nail on the head though. Your explanation was pin point and I thank you for sharing what I've always thought but could never put into words. You guys are an inspiration for the many 🙏🏽.

Love following you guys! Found you because my plan is to live the van life and travel for a couple of years. Nate's comfort zone example was much needed! I've found that I've been letting fear take over my life instead of living it and whenever I think of all the things I want to do I get overwhelmed. Now I'm going to put a plan together that will let me explore outside my comfort zone by small steps. Thank you so much for sharing your adventures! Nate, I love your love in action towards Kara. God commands husbands to love their wives. And you go way beyond the command because you really do love Kara.
Your love and your support for each other is why you have started, and completed so many tasks and goals in these last 8 years.

We need to increase our comfort zone, with actions to eventually bring the event into the comfort zone. Both of you are very inspiring!

Nate! That made so much sense! The way we talk about it at the group I work with is our comfort zone, learning zone, and then our panic zone. If we stay within our comfort zone we won't grow. If we do things in our learning zone our comfort zone grows and so do we. If we get accidentally pushed into our panic zone we start to panic and we cannot learn because its too far out of our comfort zone and we go into our "fight or flight" mode. So they key is to always put yourselves in situations where your in your learning zone and constantly growing! Peace

You two are just the best couple ever and my favourite UA-camrs! I love watching you both push the boundaries time and time again, amazing. Nate's comfort zone analogy really made me think. Mine is a lot smaller than yours Nate! That's for sure. But it has expanded over the years and this little speech has me excited to expand it further! Although my physical limitations wouldn't ever allow stuff like this, everyone has their own goals and boundaries to strive for. Thanks for that, very inspirational

Nate your comfort zone explanation is spot on. Problem for many of us is time. We don’t have enough time between work and family. Carving out time should be a priority but we are notoriously bad at procrastinating and soon we realize how many years we wasted. I write in plurality so I can pretend I’m not alone. The last few years I realized I’m OLD and began to live. That little girl’s comfort zone will be massive by the time she’s an adult. Good job.
